Knight Dude
Keeping it going.
Having played Marvel Nemesis before, I can't help but wonder if they didn't go through the idea of making OCs for the game and just used more actual Marvel characters if it would have sold better. They WANTED to do more with the new characters, but the game didn't do well enough for them to make a follow up. Only Hazmat made cameos here and there before. Cause I think the Imperfects were aptly named. They're kind of Jabronis more or less. And even the two who I think are kind of cool could have been swapped out for anyone else from the comics. The main game had Spider-Man, Venom, Wolverine, Storm, Daredevil, Elektra, Human Torch, The Thing, Iron Man and Magneto. But the other 8 characters were the originals and at least for me left a lot to be desired, even if they weren't the worst thing ever. It's just that like half of them had powers or styles didn't stand out enough. Magneto's design in that was also Sauceless, imo.
Wink, the Teleporting chick could have been Nightcrawler, she even disappears in a puff of Smoke. Granted she's one of the two cool ones.
Solara, the Fire lady, could have been Jean Grey/Phoenix if they wanted a female character with Fire Powers, even if Human Torch is there.
Johnny Ohm, the Electric guy, should've been Electro, given how he fights.
Brigade, the Frakenstein Cyborg dude, could have been any bruiser type hero or villain, but he has projectiles too, so maybe not swapping him out for Rhino or Juggernaut.
Hazmat, the Sickly guy was probably the standout from them. He had acid/radioactive powers, not too many of the mainstream Marvel guys at the time could fill his shoes. Cause it's not like Radioactive Man (Iron Man villain) was a huge player at the time, nor was he as creepy.
Van Rokel could've been Dr.Doom or Ultron or even Green Goblin take your pick. He's a mad scientist, has a super suit and throws projectiles.
Maya, kind of the main new hero is Hispanic. Which is cool and all, but she's also fairly generic design-wise. Her powers are kinda neat I guess.
Yeah I dunno, anytime I go back to that game, I think it's alright. But I can't help but wonder if playing it safe would've gotten a better deal for everyone involved, even if I sorta dig the idea, the execution was lacking, imo.
