Toon Link top tier material?

I personally say so.
Unlike the other fast players, like Meta Knight or Sonic, he can hit quite hard and has little problem finishing, as several of his moves can finish slightly below 100%.
He has good recovery, the ability to use bombs and arrows for range, and even his standard A moves do a good amount of damage, not even to mention his up and down smashes.

I think the top tier (form community opinion and personal observation) includes wolf, toon link, and marth for sure.

Just beyond them is falco, pit, fox?

But when it comes down to it, everyone knows how to play against the sheiks, the marths, the fox's in melee, making it easier for a suprise if you're an odd strategy with a different character.

On toon link, i think he for sure has the best aerials in the game and one of the best projectile games, so i'd say top tier. He is often shockingly powerful for his speed.

IMO meta-knight is rly gay vs toon, but idk i might just be bad at the matchup.

i would say he beats marth but has trouble with wolf?

idk, maybe.

Personally, I don't think so. He has really short range and only satisfactory priority. Marth, Zelda, and other long-range characters have a huge advantage over his tiny arms. I'm just not too positive as of right now.
Quoted for truth. TL is a good combination of positive aspects of the game (projectiles and a strong weapon), but 2+2 doesn't necessarily equal 4 in this case. He does have short arms, and has a lot of trouble getting into hitboxes on the ground. His arrows are notable, but aren't practical for extremely long range in my opinion.

As a Toon Link user, I would say that he'll definitely be in high tier, but will always be stuck under longer-range characters like Marth, and faster characters like Fox.

I've been dominating with Toon Link unlike any character I fought with before, so I'd say so.

Toon Link is a fast, powerful little SOB. He has some issues against other long-ranged characters, but his moves come out quickly and hit hard. People who are having issues with his range and spacing should play as Kirby or Metaknight for a bit to get used to knife-fighting range, and then go back to Toon Link, just to help train their reflexes to a proper distance guesstimate.

If you can handle his range issues (most characters have a range as short as him, and many have no projectiles, let alone not three good ones) then he's combining the best aspects of a speed and power character. He's not that much slower than Metaknight, with a lot more options. He recovers more like a medium than a light, but better than some, and he's really not a light character.

I'd say he's top tier, if someone can handle him right. Fox will be faster than him, but TL's got more power and a great air game. Marth is always annoying, but you don't need to be Fox fast to get all over Marth's ****. Barring some extreme AT's, I don't see too many characters who outperform TL's attributes in a straight-up fight. We'll just need to see how many pro players gravitate towards TL, since even if he's the king of the ring, if nobody plays as him he'll slip down the ranks. There's no reason for them not to though.

I find his arrows and boomerang are a good way to intercept projectiles in cases where jumping over them would be a chore, such as narrow levels like the Mario Bros. stage.

Good thing I mained both Kirby and Link in 64 and Melee. XD

Toon Link is one of my favorite characters to play. I haven't played him in any competitive matches yet though, so I can't really judge.

Pros: Great Projectiles, Quick, the push (punish/smash) on some of his moves like his fmsash are good and consistant at shooting an enemy off the stage, he's mobile and his arials are sex (including dair, nair, fair) and his recovery is awesome (aka bomb splode to second recover)

Cons: Possibly too light/ easy to KO, no viable way to KO except working the opponent to ~ 170 or getting a lucky smash and edgehogging and sucks at timed stages unless you go around kill stealing (a.k.a noobish OL brawl wifi)

I've killed lots of opponents around 40-60% with Toon Link's dair and his deceptive two-stroke side smash. These two moves are very satisfying to win with, XDDD.

I have only played a little of each character, but so far I think toon link has the potential to be one of the best characters possible, however with some of his obvious flaws (short hitbox for sword etc.) and considering that i think most people who play him will spam his aerial down a, or up b, much like sonics will spam the down b and metaknights will spam the side b ( im saying non tourny such people, ya know those people who only win because they spam) that people will not realize his full potential and most possibly think him a mid to high tier character.

Note: I have nothing against anyone i have not met, if you are offended by my remarks twords spammers, keep in mind i am not trying to offend you in any way whatsoever.

Note 2: i am not saying the characters who "spam" are bad, however they do have a supposed good move that i believe will most likely be exploited by the "spammers" out there. I AM NOT saying everyone who plays those characters will spam thier moves.

btw for those who said hes a bad KO'er. use his up air and then kill yourself as you witness you being wrong. I constantly and consistently chase my opponent into the air with an up air followed by an up b (if the UA didn't kill, but it usually does around 90%)

Well he can KO...against noobs. nah, but really you might get a lucky hit in.
As far as the Up B goes though, I've fought TL's before and yoshi's down B IF i get knocked into the air counters TL's little move and kills him in the process. So be careful if you might a kirby or yoshi user which probably won't be too often.
Tiers are measured by tournament wins and pros know a little thing about air dodging or countering.

Toon Link is without a doubt gonna be high tier. To tier, maybe, hopefully not (I don't wnat him to become like Fox did in melee :( ).
