Two Stages From Earthbound

I started playing Earthbound for SNES. I'm at the point where you reach the town of Fourside. In Smash Bros Melee, we all know of Ness's level, Onett. Takes place in an urban city setting with cars passing by on the streets. If you want to see the stage, d/l the "mario trophy" movie. Back to the beginning of my story, while playing Earthbound, I ran into the Monotoli building in Fourside. Surprisingly, the name of the building was shown on the side on the building complete with a helicoptor on top. I knew this seemed familiar so I looked at the E3 movies I downloaded. In the "character parade" movie, you'll find this exact setting when it shows Samus fighting. I believe this was talked about briefly in an old topic, but I couldn't find it so I'm bringing it up again. I was wondering, why would they have two different stages for one character? Could this mean another Earthbound playable character, say Pokey or Poo? Anyways, I'm off to continue playing the game. Just wanted to get this off my chest. That is all...

I'd say this almost certainly means Pokey is in the game. Here's how I come to this conclusion:

1) Lots of rivals are showing up... Bowser, for instance, and maybe Ganondorf as well
2) Poo is Ness' friend.
3) Pokey is Ness' rival
4) He spends some time in the Monotoli Building in Fourside.
5) If Poo had a stage, it would more appropriately be Dalaam.
6) Although Pokey doesn't really have any attacks, one should note that two of Ness' attacks--PK Fire and PK Thunder--were not his to begin with. They were Paula's. And Ness' yoyo was a weapon everyone could use. Thus, Pokey could show up with new moves that might not be his per se, but were still part of the Earthbound universe.

Yay Pokey!

I still have lots to cover in Earthbound, but from my current experience I can assume too that Pokey will be a hidden character. So far, the only logical character that resides in Fourside is Pokey. It would indeed be interesting to see what kind of moves Pokey would use. Oh well, back to playing the game!

Oh yeah, I have an idea for an item other than the Mr. Saturn. Teddy Bear!!! In Earthbound, it follows you around and takes damage for you until an enemy beats the crap out of it. In Smash Bros Melee, that would be a nice item to have. Especially knowing that the stages are smaller and the action more intense. The teddy bear could take like 15-20% damage before it breaks. And just like in Earthbound, sometimes the teddy bear won't work. I thought this was a cool idea for an item. What do you think? That is all...

Man, as many characters as they have. I think I might **** my pants when with all these characters. I wish I had played Earthbound because I have no idea what any of you are talking about. Ness's moves taken from another character? *sob* How sad.</FONT f>

Well, kinda. Ness can use PK (or _P_sycho_K_inetic powers), and so can Paula and Prince Poo. Ness has PK Special and some others, Poo has PK Starstorm, and Paula has PK Fire, Ice, and Thunder. Paula's powers better lended to a fistfight, so they just bended the rules a bit. Not a biggie. Ness is still representative from the Earthbound universe.

Here's a picture I snapped of the stage in question.

As you can see, this screenshot is from Earthbound, SNES style. If you compare this to the movie I talked about, you will see the similarities. That is all...

Having an Earthbound discussion? Yeah, I like the teddy bear. Instead of Maxim Tomato they could have Pizza or something. I downloaded it once, got through to the Giygas battle but never beat him, then I got rid of the download. Man its hard. But Earthbound is my second Favorite game. If you got any Earthbound questions...

Home.
I read the first post about three times to try and understand why the person was so flustered, before I saw the date.
Holy smokes.

OK, yeah... Two stages... err... Well, Lucas was supposed to be in this game, I think, but got the boot due to a delay in EarthBound 64 or something.
DK's got about three stages... >.>
