The vouchers do save you money, but TBH the concept seems very poorly communicated. Plus, asking someone to just drop $100 on the spot is a bit extreme for only a 33% discount.

Why not just offer normal sales and normal offers to subscribers?

Outside of "Nintendo Selects", Nintendo has always kind of been stingy with discounted deals and offers with first party titles, especially upcoming or newly released ones.

Them taking this convoluted "99$ for 2 vouchers" deal doesn't seem that surprising to me. If anything it's more generous then what I expect from them.

TBH the only reason I consider it a bad offer is it feels like what you get in return for what spend is disproportionate in value.

$100 for only a tiny fraction off of one game is ridiculous.

I think that they might think that their idea is more versatile since you can pick any of the compatible games, and maybe they also aren’t as much of fans of the idea of pressuring customers with limited time deals. Although, at the same time, it theoretically encourages people to spend one and two thirds games worth of money when they might otherwise just buy one game. I dunno really, though, I guess we’ll wait and see if it works and if they thus keep doing it. Maybe they really just are trying to innovate for the sake of innovating? I mean, who knows if it’ll catch on until they try it?

The main advantage of the claws is that anything can be attached to them without any new sprites, while only a few things would be compatible with vines.
