Chinese cuisine is absolutely amazing and I can't stand it when I hear people say they dislike it because of Panda Express or insertChinese-Americanfastfoodplacehere. Like uh, you all know that's not really representative of Chinese food right? Like, I'm not dissing Chinese-American food (for the record I like it quite a lot), the restaurants or people's preferences here either. It's just like, very strange that their examples for why they supposedly hate it are frequently using an entirely different cuisine from what they're claiming to despise? It'd be like saying you dislike all Mexican food when literally all you've tried is Taco Bell, it makes no sense lol

Fred Flintstone DOES count as a cereal mascot, but only because brand integration into kids' shows was insane and unhinged in the days of Hanna-Barbera. Mr. Beast couldn't dream of topping Peter Pottamus eating the viewer and then flinging them out of his mouth by regurgitating an Ideal Toys logo followed by the sing-song ending lyric "Froooom Ideeeaaaallll!" - even if Fruity Pebbles was never part of the actual Flintstones show, Fred still deserves an honourary spot in the mascot pantheon at least to honour the history of insane unregulated cartoon sellouts.

Fred Flintstone is an honorary food mascot in the same way Tony Hawk is an honorary scrimblo bimblo. I want both in smash.

In n Out Burger is fine but very limited in menu and there are a lot of burger options all around, so I didn’t really get the hype when I tried it the few times I did. The secret menu is also mostly just “sauce” and “cook the fries better”. It feels like hype culture in a way.

Pizza doesn’t work as a snack. If I’m having pizza I want the potential option for more slices I can’t just buy one slice of pizza as a snack

It's dumb that food tech classes almost always focus on teaching you to cook dishes that'd feed an entire family when probably one of the most vital skills for independent living once you leave home or whatever is to know how to cook for one (or maybe two, if you’re lucky).

I don't know if this is just a British thing, but I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've needed to throw together a meal for six people - and yet people have no idea how to feed specifically themselves with anything more complex than a sandwich, because they're just not taught. I get the argument of "erm actually your parents should teach that 🤓" but that doesn't really apply if you're literally teaching food tech at a school. Like, the opportunity is right there.

Little wonder there's always tongue-in-cheek jokes about uni students subsiding on Pot Noodle and beans on toast. I mean, sure, it is mostly because we're all poor, but still.

Isn't this how yogurt is normally eaten anyway?
Depends on the yogurt. Most of the big brand yogurt products I've tried (other than Trix when I was younger) have chunks of fruit in most of their flavors, with the usual exception of plain yogurt.

Whether it's the standard kind or not, fruit pieces being in yogurt seems to have become increasingly common in recent years and I can't say I'm a fan of it lol. It messes with the consistency of it too much and makes it off-putting.

I've rarely heard of people eating pizza as a snack.

Pizza as a lunch however (whether it's leftovers or not) is always great.

I like pizza when it’s fresh or cold/leftover, never enjoyed reheating it, especially if it has vegetables on it. Then again, I usually tried reheating in the microwave.

I generally like eating salad without dressing and burgers without cheese.

Salad's more refreshing to me without the extra flavors (although I do enjoy a good Caesar Salad) and cheese and meats are rarely a flavor combo that I enjoy.

The Big Mac is a bad sandwich (in my eyes). I never understood the purpose of the third piece of bread or the metric ton of iceberg lettuce shreds they pile onto it. Even with the sauce, it’s a lot of dry mouth for me. So I probably am on a different wavelength than the last poster. 😅
