USB Gecko: Why is no one using it

Aside from that project that got shot down by stupid purism, why is no one using this to look for the debug menu? AR isn't coming out until August (even after Brawl comes to Europe, WTF) and you have the perfect substitute right here.

If by shot down you mean that the original thread got trolled and spammed to death by some scrubs, yes, but the project is even more active now. We are currently organizing. The IRC channel is up, we found a host, and we are working on designing the website along with the the forums. As for actual development, my gecko is in the mail, and I think other people are also getting one. Some people already have one and have been exploring and ended up with some hilarious results:

(from the usb gecko forums). It will probably take more time for more interesting results.

Ironically, people who have used it say the desync it causes makes it unusable for most online cheats. This was also mentioned in the original thread here, yet people continued to flame and spam away.

i didn't even read that thread so i honestly have no idea what people are pitching with it lol (and the way this topic was phrased makes it sounds like he wants people to use it for tournaments)

but i assume such a thing will be used almost purely in the same manner as AR; just for fun, and maybe to get some game data

The thread was to have a certain standard created thru USB Gecko. Modifications such as weight, hitstun, and game mechanics are being looked at, to see if they can be fully controlled/edited and used as a more 'competitive' Brawl form.

I love toying with things, I had a great time doing that in melee.
