I love your offensive strings. o.o
=3
Against Marth, you need to be less jumpy. Jumping against Marth takes away a lot of our safety. Really, all he needs to do is swing his sword at us when we jump and we're trapped into either taking the hit, airdodging and then getting punished, or retreating. I think you were looking for a read or something to end his stock though, so it's understandable. Especially since I didn't notice this during the bulk of his stock.
Yeah, that was what I was going for. I tend to do a lot of empty shorthops to try and bait people into punishing my jump, and go from there. It doesn't always work too well though. :x
I see you trying to Egg > Grab Gimp Ike. =P
Yeah. Needs work.
If Ike ever reverse Aethers to the ledge, I'm pretty sure it's safe to go straight for the grab. So, if you ever see Ike moving under the stage before recovering, he's most likely going to reverse aether, so forget the eggs. You missed a chance to grab him during his first stock.
Yeah. The thing is though, on stages like SV and BF that have that large slant at the ledge, and Ike can use that to poke people from underneath with Aether from a stupid range. I'll keep that in mind though.
I love how everyone freaks out over Egg Lay Fake still.
Yeah, that one in particular was kind of hilarious.
OBVIOUSLY YOU DIDN'T LEARN ANYTHING ABOUT DK SHENANIGANS BY PLAYING WILL. COME ON BROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
The worst part is, I DID know exactly what he was going for, and I was actually trying to punish it. I just missed my punishment. =/ If you watch closely, you can see me trying to Bair the spot he was going to land on, but the first hit whiffed, allowing him to land the Dsmash. I was really salty about that one. >.> Notice how my chair is already vacant when the player cam is brought back up. lmao
Only your last stock loss was dumb by the way. First was a tough situation and the second was wtf Ike.
I should have airdodged the Uair that took my first stock. I've been missing a lot of my airdodges recently because I've been getting better at powershielding with other characters, so my muscle memory has been taught now to press R at the exact moment an attack will hit me. It's really annoying. >.>
The second stock was silly, but I'm familiar with the range on Ike's Ftilt. I just wasn't used to having to deal with it close to the ledge like that, but I was really annoyed by it at the time because I really wanted the 2 stock. :x
I think you wait too long for your Fsmash reads on landing. You got a lot of them shielded because you took too long.
Yup. I've had this problem for a long time. I'm really bad at landing smashes. >.>
You should explain how you use Down B to land by the way. Your use of it is interesting. Unless they're all input errors. >_<
They're not input errors. When we're landing, we only really have a few good options: Egg Lay, airdodge, or an aerial (usually Nair or Bair, neither of which is THAT good at covering landings). We can also do stuff like wavebouncing an Egg Lay, but that's no good coming back from the ledge because it just puts us right back where we started. So I've taken to using Down B as a mixup, especially when coming back from the ledge. All of our other options ultimately have us landing at the same place at the same time, making it simple to punish as long as they anticipate the right option. The Down B is obviously a really unusual thing to do, and nobody is going to anticipate it the first time. The stars are usually enough to catch people that are trying to go in for some kind of punish (didn't work when I tried it this time though; he was just far away enough that the stars didn't poke him, and he timed the dash very well to punish) I try to space the Down B so it's high enough to avoid any grounded punishes they might try on reaction, but close enough to minimize the time they have to react to it. It's silly as hell, but it sets up for some silly stuff it the stars hit (ask MX about the time I used it against him in our wifi Yoshi/Fox match ), and more importantly, it makes it more awkward for the opponent to guess what we're going to do when returning from the ledge, which is definitely a good thing.
