A few of these threads have appeared before.

Summary of them: First and foremost is making sure each player is comfortable with the characters individually. So each of you should pull from your mains; just practice each pair until you find something that feels good.

wont you noobs get it. There is no best team only how well you work together. the possibilities for doubles is almost endless and weve barely started uncovering it.
takes a scrub to ask what the "best" team is. next thing you know they are going to ask for a tierlist.

this thread is like asking whos top tier so you can main him before you know how to shield.

I've seen double Snake and double DDD teams do pretty well, if you want a response other than "there is no best combination"

My cousin and I are team G&W and Pikachu. Our strategy is Thunder Bucket, which is where you pick a big stage like Corneria and then get G&W's bucket and start using thunder. G&W then empties his bucket on someone and it's a 1 hit KO everytime even with DI. You can also use it on smaller stages but you'll have to be more patient when filling up the bucket. With this strategy we usually 4-stock the other team.

I like D3 and Ike. Re-grab infinite to F-smash is a barrel of chuckles.

Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong, they have the damage racker/KO'er and it gives you DK's awesome glide toss along with Diddy's good field control which leaves enemies open for DK's stronger attacks. Diddy is good with projectiles too. I also just wanted to say it because they come from the same game.

The thing with teams that people often dont take into consideration when making threads like these are that most team battles turn into little one on one fights that kind of move around and interfere with each other throughout the match. Occasionally (like when an opponent is killed) you get the chance to really work together, but otherwise you really dont get the chance to use a lot of the cool potential strategies your team combination might be able to do in an actual match.

That said you can find and rank individual characters on how well the perform as part of a team, but as for picking a specific combination you really are going to get anywhere.

What team is going to sit there and watch your friend's pikachu fill up the bucket?

On my 5th 4 Loko and still ****** you.
Actually, G&W and Pika is a solid team I used back when I was still playing this game. G&W uair can send people high enough for pika to finish with a thunder, and of course you are rarely going to have a moment to team fill up your bucket, but if you can than why not? Pika's chaingrab can also be used as a set up for a G&W finisher.
