~ What NOT to use the Golden Hammers on ~

I saw the thread with the best uses for Golden Hammers, and decided this needed more publicity so that all of the poor souls reading that thread won't waste the hammers on something easy. It really makes me sad when people need to restart their records just so they can get their hammers back. :(

WHAT NOT TO USE THE HAMMERS ON
- All-Star on Intense: Seriously, you get as many continues as you want. Load up on a few thousand coins and roll through it. At the end, you do have to fight 6 pokemon in a row (because people in a series are all in one match) which is rather difficult, but a few continues and some lucky items later, you're set.

- Classic mode on Intense: Same reason as All-Star on Intense, except classic is far easier.

- Endure 15 Minute Brawl: With the right strategy, this is easy. Take Jigglypuff, grab a ledge. Then, drop down, and fly to the other ledge under the stage. You can do this in 3 jumps, and Jigglypuff has 5 jumps so there is room for error. If no Alloys are near your edge, hold on to it for a few seconds (but not too long) to reduce the risk.

- 10 KOs in Cruel Brawl: This uses the same strategy as the 15 minutes Brawl with Jigglypuff. Fly under the stage, and EVENTUALLY, some will jump off to attack you and suicide. If they aren't, try flying away from the stage until they jump off, and THEN fly to the other edge. Still doable in 3 jumps.

- 100 Hours of Brawl: Don't waste a hammer on something time-consuming. This just requires a few nights of keeping your Wii on in a 1-stock infinite time match. You could also get some time in with CD-Factory. ALSO, plug in some extra controllers. 4 controllers would make this only 25 hours instead of 100. If you're worried about overheating, put the Wii on its stand, let it out in the open, and put some fans around it.

- 2000+ KOs: Not hard at all. Do some sudden death matches or something. Just DON'T WASTE YOUR HAMMER!

- Any target test speed: These aren't hard either. If you're really having trouble, look up some videos where they beat the time by 10 seconds. You can do it without 10 seconds of error, right? If you need it, I'll send you some replays of my records which absolutely destroy the challenges with ease. It just takes some patience.

- Event matches on hard: There's only three, if I remember correctly; the Dark Link Duel, the Advent of the Evil King, and the Wolf Hunts the Fox.
The Dark Link Duel is a stamina match; keep trying until you get a hammer or smash ball and you'll beat it quick.
Advent of the Evil King is harder, in my opinion. I found it easiest to run away, actually. This allows for a one on one, instead of one on three (because Pit usually catches up first, then Zelda, then Link). Just spam some smashes and they'll die off.
The Wolf Hunts the Fox...this was easy to me, because I main Wolf. I just suggest spamming Wolf's forward smash and don't get surrounded. Reflect any items thrown at you.

- All of them?: Feel free to do every challenge. There's nothing better than a finished challenge board with 5 Golden Hammers still proudly glistening on the bottom.

SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT TO USE THEM FOR
These are just suggestions for perfectly reasonable uses, but that doesn't mean you HAVE TO USE THEM! These are challenges that should be left ignored. When there are 5 unfinished challenges left, you can hammer away at this if you wish.

- 100-Man Brawl with all characters: Not only is this time-consuming, it's also a litte challenging. Some characters just aren't fit for 100-Man Brawl.

- All-Star with all characters: Though I'm usually against non-challenging time-consuming challenges, this will easily take several hours of your time.

- All Stickers / trophies: This is just pretty tough. 700 stickers and over 500 trophies. Even worse, this includes character trophies. If you broke All-Star with all characters, then you will need to break this, because the trophies from each solo mode are necessary.

Have fun doing those challenges! ^.^

Is there anything you get for beating SSE 100%? Because I really don't want to play through almost every level again for the tedious task of finding arbitrary boxes that hold items and maybe a trophy. That is what I've been saving a hammer for.

This is actually a good thread. I might use a hammer or two for the cruel brawl windows though because I just dont have any luck with them.

Oh, yeah, event matches...those just take a few tries and some luck with items. Guess I should add them.

Also, Jeff Highwind, just keep trying. It only took me about 3 tries with Jigglypuff to get 11 kills in Cruel Brawl. I could send you a replay of one of the shorter ones (I save a replay of just about EVERYTHING.)

Good luck hectichobo! ^.^

There are more you should never use hammers on.
-Clear All-Star with 10 characters
-Clear All-Star with 20 characters
-Clear All-Star with all charaters
-Collect Final Smash trophies with all the characters
-Clear Classic mode with all characters
-Collect trophies for all the characters

If you do use one, you will still have to do the task to break another box.

Collect X stickers
Collect X trophies
You will get these accomplished eventually.

People have stated that you can't use Golden Hammers on Intense difficulty objectives. Even though you said not to use them on Intense objectives, you really can't.

You can't hammer Classic Intense.

You can't hammer Boss Battles on any difficulty.

As far as I know, you can hammer anything else (including All-Star on Intense).

I have my views on when to use Golden Hammers.

--------------------
When to use Golden Hammer

Enduring a 15-minute Brawl
Cruel Brawl tasks
All-Star Mode on Intense difficulty
--------------------
When not to use Golden Hammer

All Easy tasks (ex.: Clearing game modes with all fighters)
VS Mode tasks
Target Smash tasks
Tasks involving stickers and trophies
--------------------
Golden Hammer is useless

Clear Boss Battles on Intense difficulty
Clear Classic Mode on Intense difficulty
--------------------

You realize that you have to do these things anyway to get individual Final Smash trophies and all stickers and trophies, right? Which is the point of you doing these challenges anyway; to fully beat the game.

You also cannot use them on:

Clear Boss battles with all characters.

I gave 3 easy solutions to beat those in hardly any time at all. Can you explain why you disagree?

As to everyone else...whoops, my bad. ^.^

Beating All-Star with all characters isn't that bad so long as you have a friend to play co-op the mode with since you get both character trophies for completing it... Also, unlike Classic mode, Pokemon Trainer only has to beat All-Star once because his final smash includes all 3 pokemon.

Man, I wish you could redeem your Golden Hammers by completing the task you used it on.
I never really tried 100-Man Brawl with everyone, but I would gladly give it a shot if it gave me a sense of perfection.

And what's everyone's problem with All-Star on Intense? It didn't give me much of a hassle (3 Continues). I only had to use 1 Continueon the Pokemon match, and that's just because I started the match with almost 100%. Either I'm really good with Sonic, or you're all whiners.

Honestly, if you aren't going for 100% game, just use them on things you would never do AND you want the reward for it. If you really don't give a rats--- about the blue alloy trophy, don't waste a hammer on it, use it on something you WANT.

Golden Hammers are stupid. If you really want a perfect game, you shouldn't even think about using any. Hammers = Shortcuts and for perfection, there are no shortcuts.

There aren't any challenges that NEED a hammer, they're just tasks that demand lots of time. Nothing is impossible, and if you go through them all without hammers, you'll feel better in the end.

Interesting thing, actually. If you play Co-op All Star, it gets you the Final Smash trophies for both characters, but it doesn't count towards the amount of characters you've beaten All-Star with. Doing it this way can also net you the difficulty Challenges. For instance, if my brother and I beat All Star as Dedede and Wolf on Intense, we break the 'Clear All Star on Intense' window, and get the Waddle-Dee Army and Landmaster (Wolf) trophies, but the game doesn't count it as beating All Star with two characters (because you don't have an individual score for the character). So technically, you can have all Final Smash trophies, but not have beaten All Star with every character.

I don't know how it works for Boss Battle or Classic, but I'd imagine a similar result.

I used Bowser to beat the 15-minute Brawl, but I can tell you that it was NOT easy. Recall that a character comes at 25-kill marks. Kill that character and leave the 2 alloys alone. Those 2 alloys should be low levels, making your job easier. Clear out any item that seems dangerous (Bombs). Keep avoiding the low level Alloys for the remainder of the time. If there are more than 2, kill the next 25 and repeat. It takes Bowser about 340% damage to get KOed by the Alloys so, he can endure.
That's Bowser Pride for you.

It's true. You can get all the final smash trophies in co-op mode in all-star (for both chars), and it will count as you have completed that mode on that difficult (if you beat All-Star Co-Op on Intense you complete the "Beat All-Star on Intense" challenge and get the Final Smash trophies for both characters). But it doesn't count as you beating the mode with the character, you have to beat with each one solo to complete the "Beat All-Star mode with all chars" challenge.

The same goes for the boss battles. I'm beating it with my brother, it's much easier (and funnier) this way.

For classic this doesn't work, obviously, since it's 1-player only.
