From all the samus player's i have seen, only 2 stood out.
Tudor and Kyne had to look at the result page to remember kynes name. i saw em both at azonetwostep, they both did amazing seeing as how bad samus is thought to be.
i know rohins is good, and i know xyro is good but a douche. but i haven't seen em in person, so i can't judge.
props to you tudor and kyne, representing when nobody else was.

I'd say Tudor is at the top. Gum's up there too, as is Xyro. I haven't seen too much of Rohins, but based on his rep and some videos I've seen he's up there as well.

But, to be clear, the best I've seen has been Tudor.

MrMetaKnight do you have any videos of Kyne? I've never heard of him, but from what you said I'm very interested.

its just speculation man cool your jets. and just for the record Samus has a very solid game. It just took a little longer than most because of the lack of lagless everything and an instant discovery of a chaingrab. I truly believe Samus players are the most versatile players in the smash scene.

I've watched Tudor, as well as Rohins, Xyro, and Gum. all great players. I just wanted to find out is there anyone out there who doesn't post here everyday.

p.s. Awesome sig man. No questions here.

It's a general consensus that Tudor is the best Samus main in Brawl. You also have Rohins and Xyro. I don't know who this "Kyne" is, though. I hope that's not a spelling error of Hylian.

*nudge*
Anyways, I am the best Samus in AZ. that's that. I took 9th/115 at AzoneTwoStep in singles, and 9th/54 in teams. Tudor took 33rd in singles. so some people have actually been saying I am better than him because of that.

Do I think i'm better than Tudor? couldn't tell ya, we didn't get a chance to play there. He has been the only person i've met so far that i could actualy talk to about Samus though.
I do know that I know Samus well, I know i play against AZ's best. and i know I do well against them.(even went toe to toe with Wobbles and Forward)

I would like to say i am the best, It is my goal as Samus.. There is that tingling in the back of my head telling me i reached that goal, but my 'smartness' kicks in and i think "unless i have played every Samus player, i cannot prove myself as the best.

my other goal is to prove she is a beast in the right hands, i have proven it to AZ, i am glad Tudor has spread it in NV. so i know i'm not alone in my journy. I actualy got laughed at once for picking Samus, then i proceded to 3stock the guy who laughed at me. it was great.

Well, I haven't seen your style, Kyne. You should get some videos on YouTube of you, because I went and searched for "Samus Kyne" in the YouTube search and you weren't there. Anyway, Tudor will always be the best Samus in my eyes. No one can change that. He also made a reputation for himself. If anyone asks, "Who is the best Samus?" no doubt someone will mention Tudor. :)

As for being the best Samus, you're right about having that thing in the back of your mind. No one knows who has the better Samus. Tudor seems to have humility. People say great things about how well he plays Samus. Some people have said, "You've inspired me to try out Samus," or at least to give Samus a second chance. Tudor even has in his signature at All is Brawl, "The best Samus in Nevada?" I like that, because he may or may not be the best Samus in Nevada. No one knows, unless another Samus main challenges him.

I can't say that Tudor has a better Samus than you, and I can't say that you have a better Samus than Tudor. It's not like the both of you went up against the same opponent. Furthermore, each person has his or her own style as playing Samus, so some might know what to do in whatever situation. I don't agree with whoever said your Samus was better, just because you got a better ranking. Please don't think I'm dissing on you, Kyne. Any Samus player is welcome here, and I like anyone who represents Samus in the Smash community.

Anyway, I'm going to be eating some chips. Oh, and Kyne, we all have the same goal as you do: to become the best Samus main in the world. :bee:

we all are, in our hearts! :)

uh... anyway, threads like this really aren't productive... and only make things more tense.

we should be working more on finding techs and working up samus fame!

I think the best Samus in brawl is Either tudor, Rohins, or Xyro. But no one has mentioned jasona who i think has a very good samus but the only vids he has up is him playing undrdog. I also probably have the best samus in oklahoma but thats only cause nobody else really plays as her here and if they do they suck from what ive seen.

Well, to answer things further in details...

Tudor and rohin have very technical, similar styles IMO. I don't like their playstyles, so dont flame me. Xyro is funny, sometimes he sits at the edge of the screen and grabs people to throw them back, but I don't think he is one of the best. Gum is probably the most original playstyle i've ever seen... idk what to say samus players are so different. I feel gum has the better styles in terms of matchups though.... his only real problem is olimar

Personally, I really don't think there will ever be a BEST SAMUS. And if someone is given that title, then it's not fair to all the other Samus mains. I like to think I am one of the best, and a lot of other people would probably agree with me, but that's not the point. What's important is that we all keep getting better with her. I hate seeing people brag about placing, I consistently place top 10 every Monday at PnT but you don't see me making a new thread (I play with the best in Vegas, which are some of the best in the country). I also consistently place first or second in teams with TKO. Who cares. Placing is good, but it isn't everything and it doesn't prove everything. Those of us who dedicate our time to Samus have good Samus's, but we all have room for improvement too. Lets help each other ^^

Now, now, girls, you're getting off topic.

Anyways, I'm just going to say Tudor has the best Samus off of sheer principle and experience. >>

IMO , I think both Rohins and Tudor are exceptional, they look so fast and fluid with samus. Tudor looks like a daredevil running off ledges risking death spiking ppl. Hylian is also great he playes much more aggressive style combo oriented. Jasona is rarely mentioned but an excellent player again very combo oriented too. Hugs is the most unique player I think he plays a near pefect mix of aggressive and defensive, so even though he dropped her I still say Hugs was #1.

the best samus is subjective, some ppl say its based on who wins the most and some say its who has the most unique playstyle.

aright this was what i was looking for. Kyne i am also an AZ samus main. I would love to learn from you man. Sounds to me like Tudor has general consensus of being the best. Now i agree with him that with different playstyles and matchups there is no sure way to know who is the best, but come on... We all knew in Melee that no matter what matchup, HugS would pwn our faces in a match. (I had it done to me.....oh it hurt....) But its good to see Samus players placing high and doing well. Really the reason i started this thread is because I want to get great at Samus like I was in melee but i can't seem to find the nitch. So.... I'm trying to find who has found that nitch and hopefully get some inspiration. Capiche? Alright. And Xyro, i've seen your vids and you play a mean Samus i will give you that. But dude, a little humility never killed anyone... lol

hey guys i was goofin around last night and i tried doin some stuff with beams and platforms, i found if u drop down off a platform and immedietly shoot the beam and hold the z button after shooting it, ull go back onto the platform with your shield out, and it seemed like i was invincible for a sec, im sure u can get grabbed out of it and hit maybe, but i was doin it REALLY fast so i dunno. if anyone has tried this, someone lemme kno what u think. i got no vids of it so i cant show u =(

See, i like this, nowhere do you claim to be the "best" but instead "one of the best" i like that. that is something that defines a great player. one of the thing's i've noticed about great players(Taj told me something along thes lines about 6 years ago when i met him)"A great player know's he's not the best but a bad player will claim to be." I can't count the people i 4-stocked in melee who claimed to be "the best"
but I can almost guarantee you are the best Samus in NV, and i can almost guarantee i am the best Samus in AZ. however, there is no way to be sure. there might be a group of people in our respective states that are incredible at the game, but don't go to tournaments(they're out there)anyways, i like your additude Tudor.

the best samus is subjective, some ppl say its based on who wins the most and some say its who has the most unique playstyle.
True, but also think about the fact that just because Samus-A beat Samus-B doesn't mean that Samus-B wouldn't beat player-X when Samus-A lost to player-X.
Player-A>Player-B>Player-X>player-A.
So until there is a player-A who beats player-B and every player-X. then there won't truly be a best, but instead a great proud few.
One of the great thing's about Samus is the options she has in each situation. what people do in different situations is what defines thier style.(obvious statement etc)

Anyway's, i forgot to state my opinion on the subject in my earlier post.
Tudor, cool guy, great Samus. most commonly spoke of as "the best" therefor probably the most well known.
Rohins, never met him, interesting style of play, also great samus.
Xyro, reminds me of coreygames(always trolls people and claims to be better than everyone) don't like that. his samus reminds me of Mike Nasty. showy, and amazing on occaision. but might turn up a bit short.(still not bad though <3)
And Me. but i don't judge myself. you would have to talk with Dookdigity, Glide or other AZ locals for a truly unbiased opinion.

Hehe, if you're ever in the Gilbert/tempe area, or i went to the coolidge area. i would love to play you. I would try to get a bunch of people together for the occaision of course.
As for the HugS thing, yeah, he was known as the best. and many came close, including myself, I almost won a 10$ MM ditto against him, it was so close(last stock every match, over 100%) He was safe, smart and deadly at the same time.
And the "niche" statement. everyone has thier own style, and there really is no "Best" but there are the great, the proud few who love the character and do her justice.

Just my luck! I've lived here my entire life and i finally find a good samus main in AZ and I'm moving. Anytime I am in the Gilbert/Tempe area i'll be sure to let you know. I'm moving down to tucson. From what i hear Froward holds tri-weeklies. so hopefully i can up my game there.

Were you by any chance at Critical Hit 3? I think you might have met a bunch of my crew members (Toasty or Slash ring a bell?) I really wanted to go to meet some more Samus players but no dice.

Tudor for top tier. :p Xyro is pretty good, too. He got 7th place with Samus at a tourney in Texas. There was no Samus higher than 7th place. And with Xyro reaching at least that high with Samus, I'd like to think he's pretty good.

I just don't like Xyro's attitude. If you meet people like Azen or Tudor, they're usually a bit more humble, and don't go around bragging about how they're the best Samus/Lucario/Peach/Ike/Azen user in the world. He's good, but the only reason he's not getting real recognition as one of the best is because of his attitude.

I also haven't seen Xyro spiking a ROB 7 times until his fuel ran out. (I really need to get a replay of that. xD)

K this has already been quoted but holds my sentiments exactly. IMO Rohins, Tudor are the best Samus players but share a quality between them besides from being great with Samus, and that is their modesty and willingness to help others. I have placed well in tournies I have entered with Samus but am always looking to improve and help others improve so the Samus community can grow as a whole and we can all up our game. :)

Thanx, and I agree with your post. The best have never been huge braggers.

Great post and you have a good attitude too. I really like Rohins and you (Kyne). You are both good Samus's and have great things to offer the community. As for Xyro, I think I would need to meet you in person because the internet often makes people act or seem more immature than they really are. Then again it could just be something about Texas smashers that makes them think they are the best no matter what... not naming any names. I did meet a really nice guy from Texas at Nexus though so it would be very unfair to form a negative opinion about Texas as a whole. I have also talked to a lot of Samus main's online and they are all very nice! Especially Dryn, koikaze, and sarahharp.

Samus forums FTW
