Has anyone experienced this yet? Where you do a free-for-all with you and three computers, and they all feel the natural urge to hunt you down, but entirely ignore themselves?

I did a test with three Meta Knights on New Pork City with only Smash Balls on, to see if one of the ones that got the smash ball would want to use it on me. I purposely died 5 times so that if they have any code in them that makes them target the person in the lead, it wouldn't be me. So, one of the Meta Knights gets the Smash Ball, with the other two in the lead, with ripe health, and in PERFECT range, while I'm clear on the other side of the stage. Does he use it on the MK's in PERFECT range, WITH a better score than me? NO. He ignores them entirely, waddles over to the other side, jumps a friggin' CHIMERA, and uses it on me.

WHAT?!

WHY ME?

I hate the CPU's in this game... they LOVE to target the human...

Anyone else notice this...?

I guess that's one way the CPUs tend to fight. Even back in Melee they have the urge to take out human players.

At least they can't get you if they're on your team. Amusingly, in a 3 vs. 1 match, two CPUs chase the lone CPU while that opposing CPU tries to take you out if possible.

yea it annoys me a bit too. all they do is chase me around. i built a stage with an area that only i could get to with rob and the cpus just paced back and forth on the platform right above me. its just the way the AI system is now they all go for the actual player and only hit each other if they get in each others way.

Actually, I've proven this already.
I made a custom stage split in 2 vertically by a solid wall, it's too high for nearly any character to jump over it(I haven't tested with everyone, but from the ones I did, Toon Link was the only one able to climb it, and even that barely was enough), and in the end of the wall there's a T like shape.
Now, when you die you get ressurected on the top of that wall, at the beginning I split the fight to me vs. 1 CPU on 1 side of the wall and CPU vs. CPU on the other(By spawning locations in the beginning).
When a CPU from the 2 CPU half of the field died, he'd get spawned on top of the wall like I said, he would obviously choose the side with 2 characters in it rather than one(The one I was in), that was nothing out of the ordinary so I just ignored it(I also tried a 4 CPU fight on that stage and they acted the same ALL THE TIME).
Now, when I killed the CPU against me, he would, again, respawn on top of the wall, but instead of jumping down to the side with 2 characters, he would jump to me.

FACT1: CPUs prefer tracking a human rather than even 2 other CPUs
FACT2: If the CPUs detect there's no way to reach a character they would still fight eachother instead of trying to run through the wall stupidly.
FACT3: If a CPU is left ALONE on a side of the field and detect there's no way to get to the player, he's STILL try to run through the wall and jump aimlessly.

If you play with Dragoon parts and the computer player gets them, they will always go for you.

When a CPU player gets a Smash Ball, I'm always their #1 target. They love to discriminate against humans.

Also, the computers do this simply because they're all cheating bastards and deserve to be shot. yeah, I hate it just as much as you do, if not more.

It's really jarring in classic mode on intense, when you get up to the final match before Master Hand, and all 3 computers just go RIGHT for you. :(

I'll just be hopping the around the course in a atempt to shake some of them off, but all 3 of them will still continously follow me, not even attacking each other.

And has anyone else noticed that on the Hyrule temple course, once Game & Watch gets down to the bottom section, a lot of the times he stayes on that one tiny platform. Even when everyone else leaves, he'll stay on the little platform and hide. I go to that course a lot, so game & Watch is really ticking me off latly.

Agreed. Never let a CPU Sonic get the Smash Ball, or you will be the first to suffer, regardless of score.
I think they are jealous over the fact that we control the rules and can lure them into SDs.

the computers do go after you! i freaking hate that. not even melee's computers teamed up on most of the time. what the heck? i feel like kicking their butts so much! its so stupid.
