Why is the roof any different?

So i just got back from a tourney where i lost because at the 3rd round be both hit each other and hit the roof of the stage at the same time. My opponent won because i flew in the back and died first and he hit the screen and died last.

MY question to you guys is -
Should this have counted as a draw rather than a win?

MY argument is if two players hit the bottom or the sides of the stage at he same time it would be a tie, so why should the roof be any different? because of some stupid animation?
Also we were both at the point of no return.

Dont be a ******* and say the game said he won. Put yourself in my shoes.

Depends-How much percentage did you both have? That could make a hell of a lot difference.

Besides, Physics has a role, but not much.

It's a draw if both players hit the side at the exact same frame because the game will automatically go into Sudden Death. Unless you can prove that both of you guys crossed the top KO boundary at the exact same frame, you cannot call it a draw. (And yes, I would take this stance even if I was in your shoes.)

You technically died before him, so therefore you are the loser. However, it would probably be wrong to say that one of you > the other, at least not based on that match, because it was close, and it could have ended differently very easily.

What kind of English are they teaching you in Southern California?

Oh and yes, you lost. Unfortunately, that sometimes happens in a game where we play rock-paper-scissors to decide who gets a controller port.

Is there anything that determines wheter you go into the back or front? Becuase something like this happened to me, only I won, but I still felt bad that the winner was determined by luck.

Is it really luck? I thought it depended on how hard you were hit, but that's just me guessing.

Yes this has happened to me a few time as well even when my opponent went off the top first by 1/4 of a second.

I dont think theres anything you can do about it.

In the example you lose anyway since the back takes longer, but it's a good point to debate.

**** me I double posted.

I thought the star KO animation was longer than hitting the screen...

Either way that sucks for you.

If I were you I would have definitely been pissed. But to be honest I believe the star KO animation is longer so you guys couldn't have possibly hit the top of the stage at the same time, you must have went through first for it to be enough time for his animation to catch up to even look "close". If you guys hit at the same time you would have DEFINITELY won, so I don't see how you think it's close. Unless I am mistaken in the lengths of the two KO animations.

Oh well..
