Wow, that was annoying.

They will still be great. Nintendo has major names also, MARIO, Samus, Link (which people just "**** a brick" over). Also, I don't think people will fork over 600 dollars just to play mgs4. I think this generation will be very close in terms of who does best.

Oh, and points cards are everywhere here, just not the nunchuks xo. I have looked in over 20 places (cumulativley) and have found nada.

Good luck finding those Wii Point cards. There's NONE out here, which is pretty absurd at this point now that more favorable games are becoming available.

I just checked a couple stores, and most of them had a couple of Wii Points cards or so. It's not surprising some places are sold out with Mario Kart 64 coming tomorrow and whatnot...just keep checking again, or just use a credit card.

As for the rest of the accessories, just keep checking, because they seem more readily available. I visited a Target about 15 minutes from my house, and they had Remotes, Nunchuks, Classic Controllers, Wii Points cards...everything but the system. The accessory shortage finally appears to be under control.

In the Wal-mart near me there a six or seven PS3s, and they've been there for a month. I have a friend who has been searching everywhere for over a month for a Wii. I find that interesting.

You don't really need to have an HDTV to use component. As long as your TV has component input ports, you can use it, but you won't get the full effect of it unless your TV has component with HDTV. There will still be a difference when comparing to composite.

If you've never heard of it, Metal Slug is basically a third person scrolling shooter game. It's really fun if you have two people, but it's still enjoyable by yourself.

I don't think it's officially been delayed yet...but I agree: it'll be delayed again.

And what Kojima said was that he's interested in the Wii, not bringing MGS to it. HUGE difference.

Hating consoles is so weaksauce. Enjoy them all. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. I favor the Xbox brand over the others, because it provides the most games I enjoy, though I still enjoy playing Nintendo's games and occasionally play some awesome 3rd party games exclusive to the PS2.

What a ridiculous perspective to take. And for what possible reason would you hate a company that houses such incredible games like Shadow of the Colossus and MGS3? Furthermore, not many people on the boards here care about your blatantly biased opinion. Certainly Sony doesn't care. Even Nintendo wouldn't care, as they're far more concerned about capturing a new market demographic, as opposed to catering to the needs of a rabid fanboy.

In short, your fanboy perspective is irrational, annoying, and hardly constructive.

In any case, porting MGS4 to the Wii is a nigh impossibility, mostly because the graphics would suffer. I'm saying it right now--sooner or later, Kojima is going to make a Wii-exclusive Metal Gear, just like he did for the Game Boy Color version. Kojima has too much respect for Miyamoto and too much interest in the Wii to simply avoid developing for the Wii altogether.

It's all about the games. With so much money floating around all three companies, everyone is going to eventually get their share of badass games from third-party developers, so while the PS3 seems ****ty right now, in four years we may be picking them up for half price to access a plethora of incredible games. Each has something to bring to the table, so it's really no use arguing over which console is the best. It's too early to call it, as they all have lots of potential. Microsoft has awesome Player to Player networks, PS3 has the most powerful hardware available, and Wii has the most innovative control scheme we've seen since the D-Pad.

Metroid, Mario Galaxy, SSX Blur, SSBB, The Godfather: The Blackhand Edition (can't wait for that one). That's just a few.

Well yes there is gonna be one. I read in EGM that you draw different shapes with the wii mote to make an uber trick. The more complex shape the better move, the more points. I don't know much about the racing/freestyle events though

I believe that the 'game' is called Wii Music, but I'm not so sure it's going to ever see the light of day. It was used to famously unveil the Wii back at E3 'o5 by Miyamoto...it may just be a tech demo.

Although, Wii Sports was a freaking huge success....

And from what I've heard, SSX Blur is really good.

A lot of people hated Microsoft--fanboys aside--because the amount of decent software they had for the Xbox was minimal. Microsoft's weak attempt at entering the videogame market was viewed with contempt because they had almost nothing to offer. They had Halo and Splinter Cell, and that was it.

Now that Xbox 360 is out with relatively decent software and a tried-and-true online community based on the said software (Gears of War, Rainbow 6: Vegas to name a few), the console has become relatively respected in the majority of gamers' eyes.

I'd go as far to say that videogame companies are often identified by the very games they produce. When I think of Microsoft, I think of Halo. When I think of Sony, I think of Final Fantasy. When I think of Nintendo, I think of Mario. When I think of Sega, I think of Sonic.

The success of a game increases the reputation of the company, and makes the company more palatable to the general public. In that sense, any game on a given console is heavily related to the company itself.

I think the point he was trying to make is that MGS (nor FF, for that matter) is made exclusively for Sony (although, to support you, MGS hasn't had many outings on anything other than a Sony console in a while). The other examples, however, were accurate.

Ummm....Mario is is a first party game. Bungie is owned by Microsoft. MGS3 is a thrid party game. Those are completely different. And when i think FFVII-FFXII I think sony. I think FFI-VI is nintendo. Also, I said should. I didn't say people don't relate the two. But like I said, hating a console is still different from hating a third party game on it. I already gave you an example. Another is multiplatform games. You might like the controls on one console as opposed to another, but love the game itself. Sony did not make MGS3. Hating sony doesn't mean you hate MGS3. I hate sony the company but I love playing Resistance at my friend's house.
