Regardless of how certain people respond to certain words I will always maintain that WORDS ARE NOT -BAD-.
Any word alone is meaningless. If I were to type the N word, F word, etc. etc. etc., standing alone, by themselves out of context with no implied feelings behind them, nobody should be offended because in essence I have said nothing.
So no, even if I went into the projects, shouted n*gger, got my *** beat, my feelings about words and how they should be received would not change, although my appearance might.

But those words still have meaning and connotations. That's why these words have become "swear words", people made them. Many of them were common words that started to be misused as insults, and it turn grew these connotations. As long as people know what they mean, they will have associations, regardless if it is alone and said without emotion.

misunderstandings are not limited to 'swear' words, so using that as an argument doesn't hold much merit
you can't sit there and tell me that you can't tell the difference between when someone is intending to be hurtful and when someone is joking around when they use certain words.
I say **** you to my friends all the time, call them *******s, *****, etc etc etc.
they don't jump out of their chairs and punch me in the face
and nobody should, even if they don't already know me and my habits
even if at first it makes you think 'was he being serious or no?' within a few minutes it should become clear because if I was out to offend someone my tone wouldn't change after swearing at them, and I probably wouldn't stick around and act friendly if I was trying to offend them in the first place.

My avatar was an Animated PNG. Queen Killjoy asked me to remove it, and so I did.
I am a little annoyed as to why something like that isn't allowed, but whatever. I can cope. I argued with her and the result is an added Rule 8 to the Global SWF rules.
