Was he a character, you just started with from the first time of playing, or did you work through other characters before settling on Link?

Well, of all the starting characters, Link was always my first choice (My second was either Fox or Mario).

Every first time I cleared Classic mode, I always did it with Link.

Not to mention, I used him a lot in 64, Melee, and Brawl. Even Smash 4 too.
