"Gundam robot" you mean a Gundam? I feel like you're missing a lot of names. Where's Mazinger Z? I'd be down for it though I kinda feel like it would work better as an arena fighter.

Uh cool but Mario reinvents itself so often (and is of a constant enough quailty) that that doesn't land nearly the same as sonic does.

IIRC, Sakurai may not have known about Of Myths and Monsters, so this would be a neat nod to that.
