The remixes get really old--at least Melee had two or three themes to repeat and less often as that. With terrain as huge (and admittedly boring as hell) as SSE, you would think that they would have original music for each so you don't have the same theme constantly running through your head. It only contributes to the monotony of the entire "adventure." It's a good theme, but not that good.
Personally, I like most of the remixes. Some seem a little too "synthesized" to me, but that's only on the more classical-sounding pieces because I prefer full live symphonic orchestras anyway. Did anyone notice that a majority of the Kirby songs--not that they're bad, but Koji Kondo just kicks Shogo Sakai's *** any day--are performed by a live orchestra while the other series are lucky to get one or two (okay, MGS got more than that, but not many others). Gourmet Race sounds awesome at the beginning, but then you realize that there is no creative alterations to the melody like Fountain of Dreams did in Melee. Kind of a letdown. K. Rool's ship theme should have gone full-out metal and ditched the pipe-thing, but again that's my opinion. Luigi's Mansion sounds really sweet, but it's so short--it had a lot of potential for elaboration on that. Tetris A is my favorite song--I want to learn to play that short eight bar fiddling riff so badly. Underwater theme from Mario had a lot of potential for a fully orchestrated piece and they went with bluegrass/country thing in the middle? At least I still have my Rainbow Cruise arrangement to hug. Most of the original track songs are ones I would have picked, especially most of the Zelda ones. Kind of depressing that so many of them have to be played on the lame WW level, but meh.
