Your top two mains and why

Zelda - I don't really have a reason. She's just a really cool character, in Smash and in the games (at least OoT, WW, and TP anyway). She knows her strengths, and she's a magical force to be reckoned with. Plus, the surprise factor in Smash against people that assume she's awful is pretty priceless.

Ike - The purified essence of bad-***. An amazing character story-wise, and a monster on the battlefield. Though I disagree with Smash's slow, but strong portrayal of him. In the games... he pretty much maxed speed (along with every other stat...) with almost no effort. And I'm saddened by the fact that Aether doesn't have the blue flash + the screech.

Diddy and Sonic because they were the two characters I wanted in above all else.

Oh God, no... I can't choose bewtween them! V_V I'll post all three of them, but I suppose I'll have to make a choice eventually.

1) Pikmin and Olimar- I never played the original Pikmin( I really should) but I did play Pikmin 2 and loved it. I've beat the game 4 times now, and the multiplayer mode was a great addition. As soon as I heard he was in Brawl, I searched foor vids of him on Youtube. As soon as I saw him, I knew, even if he ended up being low tier, that I had to main him. But he's turned out to be a very powerful character, and my anticipation for him grows each day.

2) Snake- Originally, I wasn't all too interested in Snake. He looked pretty cool, but I figured I would play him a couple times and move on to other, better charcters. That is, until I saw Pyscho ******. It was incredible. Simply incredible. The way he used him brought a tear to my eye. He was strong, he was fun, he was tactical...it reminded me of the first time I played with Samus* in SSBM. I knew that Snake would be more than just a Ness** to me in SSBB.

3) Meta Knight- I have only played two Kirby games to date, one of which didn't even include Meta Knight: Kirby Crystal Shards and Kirby Air Ride( I own/ own at the latter) In KAR, Meta Knight always caught my eye. He was fast, looked kick-a$$, and made swordplay look so much better to me than it did for Link or Marth. So, when I heard he would be included in Brawl, I was determined to main him. But he's turned out so much better than I thought! A slew of powerful-not to mention awesome- B moves, the ability to glide, and one of the best victory themes evar. I can't wait.

*-Samus( along with Sheik and Jigglypuff) were my old mains in SSBM

**- Ness sucks.

Marth: Looks to be top tier. He's my main in Melee and doesn't seem too changed. I was convinced he was the best char in melee, and I think he will be one of the best in Brawl, too. I know that he's SUPPOSED to be worse than the spacies in Melee, but I just can't see it... Anyway, despite his tiara, he's still awesome.

The Captain: He's Gregory Peck. If he sucks in brawl, I won't use him... but I'm not letting everyone else's judgments on him cloud my vision of how good he is or isn't. Not that I'm going to figure out for myself whether or not he's good - I'm waiting for Isai to play him and see how he does. If he's good with him, I'll use him, otherwise there's no hope and I will have to throw my favourite character away.

Toon Link: He looks to be this game's Falcon in the sense that he seems to have quite a lot of aerial dominance. His aerials combo quite nicely and I think he'll be fun to use.

Meta Knight: People say he's hard to kill with but I think they're just doing it wrong. I see them hit the guy off then stand around on the stage waiting for them to get back... all I can think is HELLO, DON'T YOU PEOPLE REMEMBER ISAI'S PIKA FROM SSB OR JIGGS FROM MELEE?! GET YOUR ***** OUT THERE, CHASE HIM TO THE EDGE OF THE ****ING LEVEL! So yeah. I'm going to pioneer the incredibly aggressive edgeguard style with him if nobody else catches on first... because that's how he's going to have to get his kills.

1. Wario
- The Warioware videogames for GBA are my favorite. His farting move and motorcycle are epic. Everyone thinks he sucks, and he definitely has his shortcomings. Which will make it that much more fun to be good with him!

2. Mr. Game & Watch
- He's just so crazy. If you use top tier characters, everyone knows what you will do, what your range is, all that. By using an odd character, everyone is a little less familar with their range, hitboxes, jumping abilities, and you can use it against them.

As you can tell I'm not a tournament player or anything, but I am pretty good and just enjoy having fun with the game.

1. Ness. I like Ness a lot, I love Earthbound and hope it comes on the VC and also make a MOTHER 4 but unfortunately Itoi said he will never make a MOTHER 4.

2. Diddy or Ike. Diddy may seem hard to play but I like Diddy because he looks so cool. He was one of my favorite Kong characters. If not Diddy then Ike, I haven't played Fire Emblem yet but Ike looks cool because he has a huge sword and I like to hit people with heavy damage characters, it is so satisfying.

Fox - He's been my favorite character since Melee, unfortunately not since the first one, and I've been liking the Star Fox series since N64's time. Not until Melee appeared, I've started using Fox for easy ways to beat Master and Crazy Hand (Yeah I got stuck on that event for a while!). Then I realized he's not just great in Event 50, but also in many other events and modes. Which is how he turned out to be my Main and Favorite. So why not choose your favorite character as your main?

Kirby - This little guy has been my favorite since Melee as well, I've played his series since the NES, Kirby All-Stars was the BEST game. Kirby, I don't know what to say about the guy...he's AWESOME! But I've never really been too great with Kirby, compared to Fox. Ugh...in Melee he was horribly weak but I never gave up on him and still used him. Hey, what can I say? The guy deserves to be my second main.

I too, am not a tournament player. I play for fun, and I hope to experience better gameplays with these two in Brawl.

I've played the game, and after a while I decided on these two mains. Wario and Wolf.

First of all, W names are awesome.
Wario has incredible recovery and is really strong, the only disadvantage would be his short range, but the bike helps a lot with that.

Wolf is just good, his smashes are good, his tilts are good, his attacks are good, the only bad thing is his recovery. Also, I like his taunt a lot. Landmaster is one of my favorite FSes.

It sucks how most of the people in this topic are choosing characters based on the fact that they are top tier/or don't suck. IMO, the lamest way to pick your main.

1. Jigglypuff. Was my main for the previous two Smash games due to her high aerial priority. That and she was pretty powerful for a cute little Pokemon.

2. Pit. This guy struck me as a fast character with excellent aerial priority and an insane recovery. He was the perfect character that matched my playstyle.

Ike- the most powerful in the game, has great range, and is such a bad***!

Wolf- my favorite star fox character and he looks like hes pretty good in brawl

1. Olimar - Pikmin was a fantastic game. It changed my perspective on strategy games that, until that point was not that great. I played the hell out of that game, loved the diversity, and the personality of the Pikmin.

2. Tie between Diddy/DK - DKC/Dk64 were part of my favorite video game franchise. I played so games SO much while I was growing up over and over again. They provided me with so many good childhood memories.

3. WW Link. WW was my 2nd Favorite Zelda game, behind only TP. WW was an amazing game, and I was impressed that the entire thing was cell-shaded. There was so much of the world to cover, and there were so many extra islands to explore. Also, every time I shot something with the light arrow, the OH-Kill made me smile.

Wario looks like my number 1. So cool and I'm a sucker for unappreciated characters.
My other, I'm not to sure, but Ivysaur I think will be my second (of course I'll do stuff with the others, but he'll be my primary). His power cannot be ignored.
I do have to give a shout out to Ice Climbers and ROB. Both really cool characters that need a good rep.

I have no clue. I pick my mains based on how much I like their moves, and therefore will not know until I have the game. However, I will probably end up continuing to main Peach, Marth, and Jigglypuff.

I love way too many of the characters to choose so... Ill main PT because I love 1st gen pokemon and hes a very cool charcter and Random... so that I dont have to choose between all the amazing characters

1) Snake - What can I say? HE FCKING PWNS (played SSBB at a friends house)!! I love the missiles, the grenades, the C4, final smash... his whole bag of moves is sooo fun and good (but don't forget the taunt too!). All the traps you can lay... mmm. And his CQC is pretty amazing as well XD I just love how he plays

2) Marth - I used Marth in Melee as my main and seeing as he hasn't changed much (played at a friend's house) he's still definitely going to be one of my mains

3) Captain Falcon - was my 2ndary main in melee... and plus, he's captain falcon. KNEEE!!

1.) Falco because he was my main in melee, love his fighting style, and he's more badass than Fox!
2.) Zamus because she plays and looks better than Samus, and she's much faster and her moves look awesome!
3.) I know you said 2 but I just have to say Wolf because he looks really good and looks like a character with great potential!

1.snake, because he looks the most unique, sakurai even said he has a much different feel then the other characters. Plus I am a big fan of the MGS series.
2.king dedede, what is there to say? he has an awesome moveset, espicially the waddle dee toss, his entrance and taunts are hilarious, he is the king of dream land, and he is a bloated penguin..

Fox: He's Fast and my main in melee. x]

Ike: I was also a Marth/Roy player so i want to play with Ike also.

Wolf: He seems like a challanging dude, so i wanna try em.

Sonic: And ofcourse the hedgehog. Just no explanation available. Now thats how rad he is.

Snake: Because he aint like all the others with the special powers and stuff, he just got his human powers and weapons.

I have, truly, 4 mains. I can't really pick just 2 to talk about, so...

1. King Dedede
I never really thought much of him when he was announced, but as time passed, I started looking at him more and now he is my #1 main. idk.

2. Pikmin & Olimar
I always wanted him to be in Brawl. I love Pikmin, and he is a very unique character.

3. R.O.B.
Well, in the beginning, I was really pulling for R.O.B. to be in Brawl. But, after his "deconfirmation" I gave up hope. And so, when the roster came out and I saw that square that said "ROB," I got up and did the happy dance. He is now one of my mains.

4. Wario
idk why. He's just cool.

My main is Ganondorf because I love his moveset, and I love the Zelda series. Plus, he has tremendous power comared to Falcon and I can make him fast

Tradition, I've been a Fox user since the old days of the original SSB64 and I'm not about to stop, in fact, Smash bros is what introduced me to the StarFox series when i was just a youngin.

Wolf:
Long-time advocate of his inclusion, not to mention how Wolf has been made a completely different -and very awesome- character for Brawl.
