Pretty sure it's 20 to enter :p

And you don't have to enter the main thing if you don't want. Go to have funz with me and Fang and side events and yugiohz and funz :DDDD

Btw who would you be carpooling with to get there?

Gratz Jumpman, that means you lost lol

You can only activate one Maxx C per turn.

Maxx C is statistically best against Heiratic Dragons. Because everything they special summon has 0 attack if chain to the effect to special a 0/0 monster they literally have to keep going or else they leave themselves in an awful position.

Has anybody else been paying attention to the Atlantean and (new) Mermail archetypes? They're both shaping up to look really good. I think that Atlanteans are going to be really busted, they've got too many things going for them. Mermails are looking really solid too, along with having great card art. As a fan of Water decks in general, I'm excited.

Wow, I clearly stopped paying attention to Yugioh...

I'd love to get back into it LOL

But that strategies have developed so far since I played lol... Pretty sure you cant use old cards can you?(Like first series, Metal Raiders, Magicians Force etc)

A lot of old staples are still around (MF, Solemn, Monster Reborn), but for an actual framework, probably the oldest thing that works is Monarchs.

Luckily, Konami has a knack for putting together structure decks that are actually fairly decent if you get three of them. Get three of the Dragon structure, maybe hit Ebay or your local card shop for a Five-Headed Dragon and Future Fusion so you can do that, add in old staples, and you'll have something okayish.

We can talk about situational plays with phantom hands all day.

Deck'll still win.
honestly I dont consider Hieratic's that good. They literally go all in one turn and if they dont succeed in winning that turn they lose. More so both Veiler and Maxx C as well as Fiendish and Torrential absolutely destroy them. Standard Chaos Dragons are just plain better.

Edit:Atlantean/Mermail look busted as ****, especially since the Mermail cards get their effects whenever they're sent to the graveyard from anywhere. That means you can run cards like Hand Destruction and maintain super card advantage while also cycling your deck. And since Atlanteans all get their effects when they're discarded by Mermails they work perfectly together.

But this: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Atlantean_Roar is bull**** of the highest calibur lol. Why is this quickplay? That's insane, end phase +2 for absolutely free? Why does this EXIST?

Heiratics are incredibly flexible imo. People are sheep to the standard rank 6 plays and builds. Being Light and Dragon only helps them.

Just because you can OTK doesn't mean you need to attempt to do it. I don't understand why people aren't content to just put out a 2.2k beater if they want to play conservative.

I played someone who was running a Rank 5 beat build. It worked yeah, and Tirus and Adreus are good but like, there's better decks to do that with. The only thing that really sets Heiratics apart currently is their ability to swarm high level monsters.

I more or less think it's the ability to create any rank of Xyz, the ones that have pretty beast effects but aren't really capable of being brought out by most of the other competitive decks. This is mostly OCG though, considering a lot of those Xyz aren't out yet.

Yeah, pretty much everything you said. The only thing is running both of them together will really press the deck for space. Also yes Atlantean Roar is really just one of the most poorly designed cards I've seen in a long time. I was really happy with Atlanteans, and then they revealed Roar and I'm sorta happy because I want to play the deck, but I'm sort of mad, because really that's just freaking stupid.

What I was actually thinking would be really legit was Mermail Heros. I'm sure you can figure out the implications.

My thoughts exactly.
I mean, there's some kinda broken cards that can win games and all, but that's ridiculous.

That said, I liked Mermail and might probably pick them later when they all get avaliable.

Guys, it's really not a big deal, Atlantean Roar requires a silly amount of setup, and more often than not, you'll want to Salvage your monsters instead.

Anyway, you guys SHOULD be talking about the super ****ing cool Thunder monsters. Seahorse too good. Oh, and if you ever see DeathApp online, feel free to whisper and ask for a duel or something.

Not really. The new Mermail archtype combos perfectly with them and allows a huge amount of dumping into the grave while still maintaining card advantage.

Also I played the new Thunder deck a few times the other night it was......uninspired. It seemed like a less saccy version of Sacreds(Constellers?) but it's way too easily hurt by veiler, fiendish and such. They definitely allow for swarming but at the end of the day you could just play inzektors. They have the same strength of swarming and weaknesses but also crazy broken effects.

Pretty much. To be fair he only went into time in 3 of the 12 rounds throughout the whole thing but it's still an annoying deck to play against. I watched someone from my locals play the guy in round 9 at table 1 and he wasn't able to do anything because the FC guy got all of his One Day of Peaces and other damage-stopping cards.

lol that's really what you should be doing if you want to troll people. Go for Self-Destruct Button OTK games 1 and 2 and then side into chain burn for game 3.

Winning a match 1-0? Problem? :troll:

The way I saw it was that you win with chain burn game 1, then just proceed to tie out every match until the timer was called for round after siding into self-destruct button.

way worse to deal with imo.

I heard some guy ran final count down last ycs and timed-out his way to top 16.

:phone:
The ways to get around typical final countdown builds are generally not standard meta.

Then again I'm a Counter Fairy nut so I stuck to that when I go to locals or anything.

edit: Atlantean Roar is pretty close to Disk Commander in terms of bull****.
