The game takes too much money to make a top tier deck when banlists come and go to ruin a good deck. Thats why I proxy but my only somewhat real deck is a gigavise which uses the gigaplant and supervise as the major idea of the deck...

Yea sometimes money is a problem but some top decks can be built cheap such as Blackwings.

You don't need the dualities for most decks. It just makes the deck better.

Yugioh: the game where you have the choice of getting the absolute best deck for $600 or an almost-as-viable yet mysteriously far less popular alternative for less than $50.

No offense but blackwings are practically dead I think. Its an alright engine but for the most part it keeps getting hit. Whirlwind at 1 makes the engine bad to run sure you have that blackwing draw card but it kills you since you can't special summon. Well I wouldn't play it.

I don't keep up with the deck lists anymore but tell me a high tier deck that cost less than 50 dollars? I can probably name just one at the time machina gadgets thats the only thing I can think of...

Well, I don't play it anymore just because of the money; other than that is an entertaining game (made each time more dynamic with new cards). Anyways, a lot of cards can be found common, or you can buy many Starter Decks for both get them and save/sell the other cards.

Bans are stoopid I still waiting for the day that Gravity Bind is no longer limited (semi would be okay, too.. but that just won't happen...).

Well if it weren't for bans you would yata locks all day and the game would get boring because of that. But yeah you could make a decent deck using common cards from other decks. I am not the biggest fan of bans if they are dumb bans. When they moved brain control to the ban list because players thought it was too "broken." I laugh at that because its really not. You need game changer cards to maintain balance.

Blackwings aren't as popular as they have been before but they're still around. They tend to get a bad name though since mostly bad players use the deck, while only the smarter players find success with Blackwings.

They aren't as popular as before because they keep getting hit. They are just hard to play now. Still the engine is decent. You can make it work. It's also a good deck to play with when your getting back into it. So were lightsworns and French Twilight since they were auto pilot decks...

Nightkid: the reference was to Frog FTK (though it's dead now), and to a lesser extent Machinas and Batterymen, the typical go-to "win a tournament on the cheap" archetypes.

600 should be 1000+. 50 should be 100+. I know that particular decks were named, but this, in all honesty, is more accurate.

The banned/restricted list for this game has always been dumb. Whenever they make a decent card it's always restricted or banned. It's soooooooooo stupid. The real reason to ban or restrict a card is when it singlehandedly forces 1-2 viable archetypes.

The game would be taken much more seriously if the makers just did a few simple things.

I mean, god, has anyone seen a realistically useful rulebook for the game online or otherwise. A low/casual level judge has to call in on everything.

The actual reason for the ban and restrict list is so that konami can make more money then it can. Like I said without it people would use just use Chaos and Yata Lock decks all day. The ban list forces players to buy the newer cards so Konami can profit. And some cards really deserved a banning. Then again it's also the players fault as well since they are willing to pay 80-100 bucks on a single card that they need for their deck.

Actually, there's a BR that takes those decisions.
They call those strategies "overcentralization", basically, a card/strategy that breaks the game whenever they're performed.
If it were because of the money, they'd just keep selling old boosters, make more absurd cards and just some small bans.

Well that makes sense but they usually reprint the cards which leads to the death of the cards in the first place. An example of this is the lightsworn arch-type. Honest and Charge of the Light Brigade got reprinted and they magically died when the next format came out. Since they stop printing the booster packs for that pack eventually. When a person finishes making his deck konami cannot get anymore money from that person. Bans are there to make the hardcore players happy because they complain about it over and over. As well as try to get some more cash flow for the player to buy more packs. Of course its not always about the money but also the appeasement of the customer.

I wish I still played, but no one I know plays it. It was a pretty interesting game and I wish there where still people that realized that YuGiOh isn't "uh gehy gam fur queeerz". I'm a freshman so, as most of you probably know, the only thing anyone plays is , dun du du dun, Call of Duty! Yeah, fun game, but people obsess over it! But that is for another thread.

I actually have a pretty cool deck, it's kinda odd though. It's fairy, but works pretty well. I can make a list of cards if anyone wants to see. It centers around Valhalla Hall of the Fallen, which lets you summon any fairy from your hand if you control no monsters, which means I can summon and extremely insane card and dominate early on with no sacrifices. I also have Hecatrice, which lets me pull Valhalla from my deck, so I usually always get either on the first three or four draws.

Very interesting Waffle. I didn't play much of it while I was in my earlier half in high school either. I've have always had a light attribute deck but now I play a light fairy deck. Except mine is a Counter-Fairy deck. :)

Lol, I hate that people don't take fairies seriously, that can kick total ***. Oh, and guess what card I happened to recently procure, A GHOST RARE RAINBOW DRAGON TYPO! It's amazing!

A while ago, Herald of Perfection was the best way you could run Fairies. Don't know about now.

I have a decent local scene. I've been out of the loop recently due to money issues, but I started playing right when the game hit the US.

I run Morphtronics and Harpies right now. Top tier decks can suck it. B)

I hate it when new cards come out. Especially when they're the new meta-game. Then, you always have to keep asking your opponent, "So, what does that do?" xD

Proxies. LMAO.
I remember I used to have a printed "Injection Fairy Lily" and a "Ring of Destruction" for a recovery-ish deck I had. It was silly...
