Love your sig Kaylo. :D

I love dogs, btw. <3
Kaylo with these cute *** ****ing gifs.
Why thank you! And yes, I'm a fiend for adorable animals too. If only they didn't come attached to annoying *** owners half the time, I'd have the perfect job atm (pet retail).

I've got contacts. ;)
It's a very small venue, they have room for llike 3 tvs (and only have 2, I'll have to get the third one), but better than nothing.
Also, I don't hope for many people, 20 max.

I really don't think I'll excel or anything, but it's gonna be interesting mostly because of the Balanced Brawl tournament.
That's a pretty awesome deal, small or not. Kyoko with those connections!

lol I just noticed the title.
It's the second time someone dedicates me a Thread title (the first being when I got to the BBR and the Stage Boards said "hey BSP and Kyo, time to make sure the BBR accept more stages!".
ty so much KayLo! <3

Also, I would've loved to go APEX but I couldn't get money/paperwork on time. Hell, I even probably won't be able to go to Rei's tourney thingy for that same reason. I really would love to go and meet a lot of you guys, though.

Pet retail sounds awesome. Dem puppies.... <3

Dang, guess we can't tease Kyo anymore... :p

Actually I've had one title dedicated to me and one made because of something I said, both on the same thread.

The first one was 'Luco for top 5 kirby' which was awesome, the second one came around because I was talking about which character boards were dead and thus the current kirby thread title is 'the kewwky thread - More active then the Lucas boards!' :p

I don't watch MLP but I know enough to say that the only pony worth liking as a Zelda, is Rarity.

I never understood the frequency with MLP :/. There used to be a MLP toy someone had when I was 6 or something. A translucent plastic pony with glitter sparkles inside...

Yes! Played Ness from the beginning, then went to Lucas (but co-main Ness still) in Brawl. We, are, incredible!

Okay, that said, I wanna hear your thoughts on this guys:

I think the PSI kids should move up a little. I know it's bias but hear me out on why I think so.

Basically, Lucas I believe should move to Low Mid at this point in time because of recent tournament success (9th at a national is nothing to scoff at). He doesn't generally get CGed as bad as Ness and his recovery is actually very decent compared to many around him: He does have options off-stage. His MUs look horrible but many Lucas players agree that those need to be fixed because some of them are hideously inaccurate. He still has some horrific MUs, namely Marth, DK, Shiek (although her inability to kill early makes me think twice on this MU) , etc but he and Ness are perhaps the two best characters alongside DK to play the 'don't get grabbed' game and it works.

On Ness, I believe his main reason for going up would also be recent tournament success (Shaky at WHOBO 4 getting top 8 in like everything. @.@) and because his MUs against some top tiers (bar Marth and the HT MU, DDD) are actually pretty dang decent (an even MU with the only char that currently goes even with MK and another even MU with the second best char in the game isn't half bad. He's also arguably one of the top ten best chars against MK). He has some great attacks and a really easy way to KO (actually a few)... does he deserve to be with the other LMs?

I could elaborate more but I want to hear what you guys think of my opinions. I've wanted to say this for a while now but i'm worried of getting flamed for being 'bias'. :(

^What's this have to do with the Zelda forums?

TBH, IDK much about Ness or Lucas so I can't give an informed opinion. I can see them moving up a spot or two with the changing tier shift but the tier list is about how it should be by now. Characters will move a little but stay in basically the same place.

The ability to avoid grabs is important but Brawl is so shield and grab based that having grab tricks on a character really hurts them. If people could effectively avoid grabs even with good characters, ICs would not be where they are.

I don't know much about Ness, but Lucas definetly should be higher.
I never understood why people think he should be LT, having so many viable options, unlike other guys down there (Samus, Mario, CF).

A lot of people back here at the BBR just tend to overrate some small aspects and say "duurrrr, Lucs has bad GR, he bad".
I mean, seriously, you should see Peach's MUChart discussions, they are "so X is slightly harder than Y, which is 0, hence, it is -1, but that makes other -1s look as hard as Y, then, almost all of them should be -2" or something between those lines.

Didn't realize we had such die hard hipsters.
You say you're proud to not be part of the mainstream, but also talk about doing and liking what you like.
What if you liked something that was "mainstream", but you are too much of a label ***** that you didn't like it.
I can respect someone not like something because they find it terrible, but to not like something because it's popular is completely stupid.

Also, who are those people that like the characters that are put into high tier?
What if they like Meta Knight, Olimar, Falco, etc.

Just because you choose to label others and claim to never follow does not make you original.

*****es be ****ing dumb.

What did I stumble on?
Someone seems upset by stuff no one actually said or implied like:
You say you're proud to not be part of the mainstream,

but you are too much of a label ***** that you didn't like it.

but to not like something because it's popular is completely stupid.

Seriously wth? We just said this:
I never got in to MLP, even when everyone else around me did. I like being non-mainstream. :p
^Me too! We have so much in common! /troll face jk

Serious low tier players all get points for not going mainstream and playing who we like. :)

...even though they suck :(
You can't get mad at people because what you make up about them; this isn't 'Fox News'.

Not necessarily. Obviously everyone is 'special' in their own way but there are popular things. When I say I like not being mainstream, the isn't the only reason I'm not. the other reason i'm not is because mainstream often misses a lot of good stuff and i don't wanna get caught up in something if i'm going to miss, say, gaming gems like terranigma and Beyond Good and Evil, or music gems such as several classical pieces and even some metal pieces, to name a few things.

I go against mainstream for the sake of it yes... but who hasn't played devil's advocate before? I love my life, I find it really fun and often hilarious when people point out something to me that's really big that i didn't know about and i in turn point out something a lot less obvious.

Just remember, vintage, the world takes all types. :)

@Rizen: I know it didn't have anything to do with the zelda boards but I just needed a place to rant and you guys all seemed supportive so...

So, despite my connections and quite nice ability to get a venue, I suck at inviting people.
Nobody attended.
Which is funny because many people posted stuff and asked for directions....

Anyway, that makes this the second time in a row and about the fourth time this year.
I guess I am done at being a TO. I love organizing tournaments, making rules, observing people play, gathering data, trying to improve the next one... but apparently other people don't love tournaments as much as I do...

It could be the fact that there isn't a mature smash scene in your area, so people are intimidated when they hear the word "tournament" (or "torneo", assuming that that's the word you're using). Maybe if you tried to make things less formal, such as by hosting round-robin smashfests out of your house with your friends or something of that sort, you could slowly evolve the smash scene to the point that you can host an event with the semblance of an actual tournament. (Maybe use the word "competencia", or competition? I don't know how to translate "smashfest" to Spanish).

lol looking for the literal word. But I get your point.

But basically, I do tournaments because:
a)It is the only way I know they will play at their best.
b)It is pretty much the only way venue owners will give us a place. A smashfest is pointless from a venue's perspective, unless their goal is to sell other stuff like snacks or drinks. But people in this city won't spend money lol (idk, it's like, tradition, culture, or something?).
b1) Nobody here lends a place to do a smashfest. I only did this because I know it's been a while since we actually played, and people from the venue won't lend it to me for something I could only describe as "casual play".
b2) I can't use my house because I live with parents and they are quite... "special"...
c) I DO take notes from tournament matches, and try to improve rulesets based on observations, like stage bans, counterpicks, Bo5 posibilities, etc.
d) That's the only way I know they would play Balanced Brawl :C

I hear Aero is doing me proud in the Zelda matchup discussion.

Kyo, it's probably Brawl and not you. Won't lie, my area's tournaments could improve in many ways but attendance is always decent due to interest in the game.
