Yep, pretty much lol.

I bet some people still don't even realize the boards are back up.

I only realized after discovering Roy was being added to P:M, (yes, they figured out the clone engine.) Checking their site, and then realizing I COULD check their site. So I ran over here to check, and it worked.

Also, do you guys expect if/when Zelda is announced for smash 4, that she'll still be bottom tier?

It's hard to say but I'm pessimistic about Link and Zelda so, yes. She will suck in SSB4 too. -But you never know ;)
I played Zelda in friendlies at a local tourney. Turned a few heads :)

I feel like Zelda's never going to be that good, only because I assume she's always going to be paired with Sheik.

If conceptually she's only half a character, they'll prob keep giving her movesets that're unbalanced as ****. :ohwell:

I played a lot of Zelda this past weekend, I had forgotten how bad she was and how good her Nair is. I love playing as her.

Also, I don't know why I get hit by Lucas' Fsmash EVERYTIME, except when I play as MK.

Also Also, Foxtrotting away as Zelda is OP.

I don't care if Zelda is paired up with Sheik again in Smash 4, as long as they don't feel the need to nerf either one of them. Hell, I wouldn't even mind if they kept Zelda and Sheik as separate characters if they really felt the need to bring Sheik back again. Might as well give Zelda an interesting and hopefully viable down b.

The Zelda/Sheik shtick has to be more symbiotic in order to work well. They're already contrasting in play style, which is fun, but there's really not much to that. A faster switch time would have been cool.

tbh I just wanna see buffed kicks. If they are anything like Melee's than she'll definately not be bottom tier unless EVERY other aspect about her sucks to the fullest extent. *Crosses Fingers*

Also, what are the chances she'll get the bowser treatment? Do you think she'll have any/many changed moves?
Personally, I hope not...

EDIT; Also, Sanic was announced. What are your thoughts?

lol several matchups take over 7 minutes in any Japanese set anyway.
Also, timeouts are not necessarily a good or a bad thing.

The only Top MetaKnight I've seen consistently planking is ZeRo (not even the Japanese who don't have an LGL). And even then very few of his matches go to time.

Japan doesn't need a limit to ledge grabs because timeouts are discouraged anyway.
I see a lot of games like the last one on here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=3KTqCbdT8PE#t=1086
It feels like competitive play often revolves around running from the opponent when you have the lead. I don't think a fighting game should be about running.
Consider how the tier list is different in Japan: http://www.smashboards.com/threads/american-japanese-tier-list-combined.327084/

It shows how much our western meta revolves around running away :(. I imagine Zelda wound be higher without Sheik if they counted her solo. West has more stages, which I like, and that's a big factor too. Without timeouts (or MK) the stage list could be a lot more flexible.

A big reason (one of many) why many lower characters aren't feasible in the West is they can't deal with certain higher characters' timeouts/planking. Link can deal with planking but for most of my other characters planking is very hard to stop. PT really hurts from planking because fatigue even if he has the lead :urg: No timeouts would completely solve ledge grab/planking issues.

Competitive play is less fun to play and watch because all the running.

You don't watch many sports do you?
In a vast majority of them there is a fixed timer, and at the end of it the one with the higher score, even if minimal, gets the victory, and most of the time any team's main strategy is to get the advantage and then proceed to stall the timer out.

I don't really want to discuss it too deeply, but while I understand how and why anyone can frown upon timeouts, they are very valid strategies.

btw, another way to compare both lists is that while Yoshi and Sonic aren't very good, timeouts are to an extent a buff for them.

but that's only because they don't have a goal limit to reach. if they played it like that it would take longer depending on how one team's defense is so it's easier to have a timer for those games then to go potentially a day continuing the same game whereas it won't take as long playing a game like brawl so it's easier top just have a goal limit. timeouts are just an easy excuse to get a win earlier even if you potentially weren't going too win. ok that's all I'm saying time to go back into lurk mode :p

Actually I don't watch sports often. Time outs are valid (and often smart) but make competitive smash less fun to watch and play imo. Fighting games should be about fighting :c.

Waiting on the day someone makes a new popular fighter (using the term very loosely) that seriously rewards fast, aggressive gameplay. No motivation to play at this point, but I still love watching streams; however, the only things I can stand to watch anymore are League championship games. :urg:

Everything else got so..... stale.

i haven't played with the new update yet but ivysaur felt a lot better. after switching back though i kept trying to use seed bomb in regular brawl lol
as for Zelda din's it wasn't as good because of the little knockback when an enemy got too close to it other than that it was ok her wave dashing is fun to annoy people with with :p

i know its uses it's just annoying because the knockback is only after the three seconds not when they get close to it. it might be just me and i like the idea but i think it needs at least some knockback in that situation

Cool video (:

I love how I get a 'How to Make Iced Coffee' on related videos right next to that lol.

I think the shortened cooldown on her down b is reaaally nice too, and actually makes it okay to switch between the character. This is how it should have been from the start

after watching video I'm just too used to using it at or near them which is why i have a problem with it. i don't really want to use her competitively regardless since it may mess up with my Zelda in regular brawl which is partially why I'm using ivy. and i technically just started p:m last year at my college around the same time as when i played balanced brawl...

I preordered Y, but lost my 3DS and am stuck in a 10-10 job until mid-november.

Basically, I will get Y sometime later this month (have to, or I'll lose it and my money), but will be unable to play it until I finish this job, get money and a new 3DS.
Also, I might just throw 1d6 and decide my starter from there, I am not very fond on any.
