TIL that Ness mains have been spreading propaganda since Ultimate came out. They say you can’t SDI out of PK Fire (wiggle your stick in a certain direction to escape a multihit) when in fact you can. I’ve known you can SDI PK Fire for forever but apparently a large portion of competitive players don’t know because that’s the matchup advice that a-hole Ness mains gave out.

I'm still catching up on IDW Sonic, but I've seen what they've done so far with Scrap Mecha Sonic and I am VERY excited for that arc.

This, Frontiers, and the recently uncovered Sonic in Fighting Vipers makes me really excited to dive back into the IP crossover roster thread and spruce up Sonic Smash a bit.

In the next Sonic game, they should just make him red for no reason. It's in the prerelease and everything, there's no lore reason for it or anything, and when Iizuka is asked about Sonic's new look, he simply states, "Yes, we thought that creating a Sonic game where Sonic was a different color might be interesting...so we wanted to do that. I really like red, personally, and a lot of our team does as well." Game comes out, and whether its bad or good or mediocre, people cannot stop talking about how Sonic is red. There's a mod that changes Sonic's fur back to blue within 17 minutes of the game's release. 20 years from the game's release, when Sonic fans do retrospectives, they're like "the one where he's red or something" and then talk about it. A Sonic fan makes a three-and-a-half-hour-long video titled "Why Red Sonic Will Always Be Special To Me." The next Sonic game to release after the one where he's red, he'll be back to blue, and there will be parades in the streets, the live chat in the E3 livestream is praising the hedgehog like he's Jesus Christ walking down the streets of Jerusalem, Mega Man Twitter makes a post that says "Congrats, Sonic! Blue was always your color." A generation of young and inexperienced Sonic fans are weirded out and wondering why he keeps changing the color of his fur in every other game. SegaSonic Bros fans are popping off, wondering when Yellow Sonic's turn to shine will be. Yuji Naka gets released from prison and his first act upon returning to the outside world is going on Twitter to post "why is he red".

Man, it feels weird to finally be able to enter my actual birthdate for M-rated games on Steam, and have it work.

A game idea I’ve always had, but never possessed the skills or knowledge to make, would be a crude-graphics DOOM clone, a movement shooter where the plot is basically a parody of a US conservative’s worst nightmare - the government has repealed the second amendment and therefore banned all guns and ammunition. You play as Billy Bum**** or something, who owns the last gun and last bullet in the country. You go through the game with said gun and bullet, and the only way to get that bullet back after a shot is to go get it - which would largely involve brutal takedowns. So needless to say, this game would be heavy on the melee. To help out though, you could find power-ups that do stuff like let your bullet pierce enemies and ricochet off walls for a period of time, temporarily grant access to a scope, or increase movement and attack speed for a few seconds. Other than the premise, it’s really not that political and just really funny/stupid/over-the-top (a la metal wolf chaos)

I have to go to my grandpa's Christmas get-together today. To shortly sum it up, he did something really ****ty this past year, which is both the reason his is separate from the main Christmas party (some forgive him, like my dad, and most don't, like myself) and it's also the reason my grandma now lives alone and has significantly less money.
Just not looking forward to it overall.

I’ve been really enjoying Breath of the Wild recently. I think it might be because the last time I started a full play through was Christmas five years ago. It feels brand new like that again - even though it all comes naturally to me now. Might also be because I recently played through Frontiers - which, when it wasn’t at its best, just made me want to play BotW.

Sonic Frontiers tried so hard to be BotW but Sonic Unleashed, but it actually just ended up being BotW but Sonic Forces.

At least the boss fights are basically just Metal Gear Rising - IMO the ideal Modern Super Sonic formula going forward.

The Breadwinners episode with zombies was super well done, it's a shame that practically none of the other ones are as good as it.
