(JSYK I erased "remembering" and replaced it with "rewinding" shortly after taking this photo)
This is Chronos. They started out as just a side character (who just kinda popped in my head one day without warning) in a WIP novel I've alluded to once or twice here. The basic gist is that a teen named Rho (at the time) is going through some relationship issues, whether its romance or friendship is something I'm still thinking about. In a fit of rage, they throw a picture of them and the person they're upset over onto the floor, shattering it - making them even more distressed. At this moment, a drug they were given at childbirth finally kicks in. The glass, frame, and photo all repair themselves in midair.
Rho, in total awe (as anyone would be in this situation), puts the photo back up and tries not to touch anything or anyone else for the next few days, for fear of manipulating them like Rho manipulated the framed photo. They eventually learn, with some help, that they can repair damaged objects, people, animals, etc. However, this is quite untrue, as is hinted throughout the first book - their power is actually related to rewinding time on individual objects, people, etc - not too unlike Eri's ability from MHA. The main antagonist/principal/research leader who notices this first tries to keep the truth of Rho's power from them, while simultaneously helping them make it stronger.
As I mentioned in that first post about my novel idea, the teens get their power from things that are arguably undesirable aspects of their character - for Rho, it's that they hold onto the past. The villain tries to get them to do this more and more to increase the strength of their "Trade", which is what I've recently decided the abilities are going to be called. He basically wants to one day, when the time is right, trick them into rewinding him back into his teenage years? Why would anyone want to be a teenager again? Well, turns out he used to have a
really powerful trade, but since they gradually leave your system from years 20-22, he no longer can control people's minds, even though he's just as much of a control freak as before. Even though he's successful in tricking Rho into rewinding him by the book's end (quite the cliffhanger), they decide that their name is now Chronos, to better fit with their newly rediscovered ability and their new outlook on life, being more accepting of the past rather than trying to bring back what is long gone.
PM me if you have any questions about any of the above - I'd be more than happy to talk my head off about this some more!
