  • How is Rivals of Aether? I'll probably wait until the Switch version comes out, but the main things that I know about it are that it's made by the guy who made Super Smash Land (a Game Boy style Smash Bros. fan-game, which had Mega Man before Smash itself did), and it's got Shovel Knight and Ori in it. (Guest characters tend to be a big draw for me - no idea why)

Any game where you can play as the Goose from Untitled Goose Game is a good game in my book.

Pwnz0rz Man Pwnz0rz Man shame that it's just a community creation as opposed to being an official part of the game. I suppose I could get the PC version, which would support that, but I prefer consoles for games that involve platforming.

That's true. For me, I'd already bought the game and the Goose as a community creation was just icing on the cake.
Played a lot of Dragon Quest 11 yesterday. The game went in a completely different direction from what I expected, and it reminds me a lot of Final Fantasy 6.
I played some Dragon Quest XI this afternoon - it felt like I spent half an hour fighting evil umbrellas, trying to get a super-powerful golden umbrella to show up so I could complete the area's bestiary. Is this what Shiny hunting in Pokemon feels like?

Also, finding the Silver Orb was really anti-climactic compared to the first three. The Purple Orb was a bit better, since I had to go through an extended side-quest that builds up the character that appears to be the main villain. (I've only beaten Dragon Quest 1, so I'm not sure how twisty the game gets with its villains)
Naruto was brought up when I was tutoring (the second time in about a week, oddly enough, and a different student from last time), so I got to recommend My Hero Academia to the student (they're the one who asked me how it was - it's not like I forced that recommendation on them).
I beat Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night! I 100% completed the map, sidequests, and enemy list - I might aim for 100% completion for items at some point, but I'll wait until the game's patched first. (it doesn't seem like it would be tough, but it would require a lot of grinding and RNG)
I'm 98.9% of the way done with Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, if the map completion percent is any indication! There are a few areas that I can't reach yet (mostly ones that are blocked off by solid walls that I can't break, so I'm assuming I need a power-up), but I've beaten four bonus bosses (three behind locked doors, and the bonus boss that you get through DLC), and there are only four unknown enemies left in the bestiary.
Making a decent amount of progress in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. I found an underground desert, and I'm currently about 60% of the way through the game if the map completion and enemies list are any indication.

The game has a couple of hidden secrets! There's an 8bit Castlevania segment, and I actually needed a guide for the true final boss, because there's no way I was going to figure that out lol. Good luck! The game is awesome.

I found the 8-bit Castlevania sequence, though even the level itself is too tough for me at the moment. (I did get two enemy shards when I was in there, though - I used a waystone to exit) I know there's a Dracula-like IGA boss somewhere, since I got the DLC, though I'm not sure where.

I've reached a lava area, though I'm not sure if I'm prepared for it. I'll backtrack to grind for recipe items so I can boost Miriam's stats.

That 8-bit part is hard, regardless of your progress lol. You got lucky with the shards though, it took me a few attempts to snag different ones. The lava area is also a pain in the neck, but the song is dope at least. Grinding for recipes isn't a bad idea.
Made a decent amount of progress in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 today; I'm currently trying to unlock the final character, whose name I won't mention because it's kind of a spoiler, though I might need to level up my team first. (it requires you to fight at least six bosses, three at a time, and each time one boss dies, another one shows up)
Rewatching Star Wars Episode 3 to prepare for the sheer magnitude of over-acting that is Emperor Palpatine. (Though I won't be watching the Rise of Skywalker for another week) The opening holds up well in terms of the chaos of a full-fledged star war, though the overuse of CGI stands out quite a bit. (I wish they used more physical effects - everything seems so artificial, like a video game cutscene that looks nothing like the gameplay) Even R2D2 looks less believable than in the original movies.

I'm on the scene about the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise. Anakin is the worst spy.

Lucas in general is not one that should get too much control. Even in Empire Strikes Back, where he had the least involvement (pre-Special Editions and beyond), some of the musical tracks were used in inappropriate moments (e.g. Yoda's theme coming up during Luke's confrontation with Vader, of all times).

Direct Lucas involvement is fine in small doses.

Work was rough today, but on the plus side, I have less than a week left until I'm on vacation, and I beat Spyro 1 with 120% completion!
I made a decent amount of progress in the Spyro 1 remake today; I'm up to 75% for the game's completion percentage! (not sure if the Skill Points, which seem to do nothing, count towards that) Enjoying it so far; Tree Tops was a hassle to get through, and it's annoying when there's only a single gem/group of gems in an area that I can't find, but I have no nostalgia for the franchise and it's still a lot of fun.
Just watched the first episode of the Mandalorian. I can already see why the Asset (not sure what other non-spoilery name I can refer to that character as) quickly became the internet's favourite character.
I just beat Mega Man X3 for the first time! The final boss was pretty tough - not as bad once I figured out his pattern, but his attacks still did a ton of damage. Looking forward to trying X4! I've only played a bit of that, but I like what I've seen so far.

Did you find the Golden Armor and the Z-Saber?

Lamperouge Lamperouge Golden Armour, yes. Z Saber, no - I wanted to beat all three of the bonus bosses (Bit, Byte, Vile) with the X Buster only, since each one has an achievement tied to beating them that way. I know that the achievements don't count for anything on the Switch, but from what I've read, getting the Z Saber would lock me into what seemed like the bad ending.
I made decent progress in Mega Man X3 today; I beat three of the stage bosses, along with two bonus bosses (Bit and Vile), and I'm only missing the body armour upgrade, one Heart Tank, and the Golden Armour. Byte's a bit of a pain, though - I'm having a tough time with beating him while only using the Buster, though maybe if I try a different stage, I can farm for health items beforehand.
Beat Rodin in Bayonetta 2 on the Switch! It took longer than I'd care to admit, but with that out of the way, beating the game on the highest difficulty should be easy by comparison.
Trying to fight Rodin in Bayonetta 2. The keyword there is "trying" - he may not be as hard as Fire Leo from Viewtiful Joe (whose attacks, on the highest difficulty, one-shot you and could only be told apart by slight differences in growls), but he is still lightning fast and hits like a truck.
So I want to take over the Master Core thread, but my first post is 2 years at least after it was created. Can you help me with this?

@MarioRayFalcon why do you say that one in particular? I've tried getting into the older Castlevania games (1 and 4), but the difficulty was too much for me. (I enjoyed Symphony of the Night and Aria of Sorrow much more) I haven't heard much about 3, though.

It's a full adventure, multiple playable characters, but if the first Castlevania was too hard for you, you may want to play the Japanese version
Hey, I have one more question regarding Gruntilda’s battle. On the last phase when the Jinjonator rises up, and Gruntilda starts firing fireballs at a rapid rate, what is a good strategy to avoid those fireballs?

Admittedly, I took quite a few hits at that part - this was where the red honeycombs from getting most of the notes and Jiggies in the game came in handy for me. Looking up videos of a no damage run, it seems like your best bet is to keep moving and jumping to avoid the fireballs, and don't worry about the Jinjonator at that point. After she fires the homing shot, use Wonderwing to block that, and she'll pause for a long time, which gives you a chance to fire eggs in order to activate the Jinjonator.

I LOVE how you took down my Zoe thread but there's still probably dozens of Goku support threads.

You probably should actually look into that sort of thing before making comments like that, considering that there are only two Goku support threads, and both of them are locked because the rules clearly state that characters have to originate from a video game. It's one of the two rules specific to the newcomer discussion section of the forum.

Sorry. Was just angry. I really wanted to get people to consider Zoe a viable contender, even though, well, she's not. Again, sorry. : (
Hi I was wondering how I'd be able to apply for ownership of a newcomer forum post? It hasn't been updated in a year.

Most of those sprites (4th form Cooler, Appul, Raspberry, Nail, base Android 13, Buuhan, the Great Saiyaman 2, Super characters) don't exist in Extreme Butoden.

Champa, Vados, and the Universe 6 team from the U6 vs. U7 tournament were added as support characters through a Japan-exclusive update, but I don't know if it's even possible to add something like that to the game's ROM. I'll do what I can, though.
Damn All your Dragon ball icons are rad can u do Kid Gohan, Lord Slug, Garlic Jr, Tapion, Zarbon,Dadoria, Supreme Kai, Videl, Pan, King Piccolo, Blue, Ginyu Force, Babidi, and Nova and Eis shenron
