Imagine if Nintendo made a new Smash game, and they revealed Dragon King (Smash 64 Prototype) as a playable character…
If I wanna be a game designer, I may have to learn not only game design itself, but also pixel art and animation, character design (and monster/mech design), and illustration. Maybe even music composition and arrangement.
Let me rephrase that: If I were a game designer and tried making fighting games, I’d like to make a 2D fighting game inspired by Killer Instinct, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge, Mortal Kombat II, and Real Bout Fatal Fury Special.
And maybe a 3D fighting game inspired by Bloody Roar II, Tekken 3, Virtua Fighter 2, Tobal No. 1, Mortal Kombat: Deception, and Dead or Alive 2.
If I were to make a 2D fighting game, and the first two characters I made for that game were the main characters (or the poster boys) and shotos, should I give them (most of) the same moves, like Ryu & Ken, or entirely different moves?
One more Capcom fact about Yoko Shimomura: she also composed the music for The King of Dragons and most of the music for The Punisher
If you think about it, Ryu from Street Fighter is kinda like a modern-day samurai, except without the sword, and he doesn’t kill his opponents (except Bison and Necalli). He always travels the world, looking for the next challenge.

If Capcom ever DOES happen to reimagine Final Fight in such a way, they should let 3 Players play as Guy, Cody and Haggar all at once, offline or online.
I love how the Low Health portion of Ken's SF6 theme has an undertone of his original SFII theme. Honestly, Ken has one of the best themes in SF6.
During her years at Capcom, I think Yoko Shimomura also composed three songs for Final Fight, namely the Bay Area Theme, the Bay Area Restroom Theme, and Abigail's Theme.
If they ever bring back Sodom for Street Fighter 6, they should give him a rendition of Kakugo with elements of Tower of Shogun (both from Street Fighter Alpha 3), his Alpha 1/2 theme, the Subway Theme from Final Fight, and more elements of the Subway Park Theme from Final Fight.
I can’t wait to see how they’ll handle Akuma's Raging Demon (Shun Goku Satsu) in Street Fighter 6
It’ll never happen, but it’d pretty cool if Capcom did a reimagining of Final Fight, with recreated stages and renditions of music from the original game, especially Metro City Slums and Bay Area, and new stages and music.
It probably won’t happen anytime soon (if ever), but it’d be pretty cool if Capcom released Capcom Beat 'Em Up Bundle 2, with beat 'em ups based on licensed IPs developed and released by Capcom (e.g. Cadillacs & Dinosaurs, The Punisher, Alien VS Predator, etc.)

If they ever bring back Urien and Gill for Street Fighter 6, I kinda hope they give Urien a rendition of Crazy Chili Dog with elements of Nile (Afro Edit), and give Gill a medley of Judgement Day, Nile (Drum & Bass Mix), and Psych Out.
I think the closest thing Mortal Kombat has to a Shoto might be Johnny Cage before Mortal Kombat 1.

I think we can all agree on one thing about the Arcade Era of Mortal Kombat. The ninja designs were pretty lazy. They were basically palette swaps with different special moves.

If Conker ever got into Smash, he’d not only need his own stage, but also music from Conker’s Bad Fur Day, including Smash remixes of Windy & Co. and Rock Solid.
It’ll never happen, but it’d be pretty cool if there was a Mortal Kombat adventure/beat 'em up spin-off, similar to Shaolin Monks, starring Johnny Cage.
A lot of fighting game franchises have two specific characters that are so iconic that you just can’t have those games without them. Street Fighter has Ryu & Ken, Mortal Kombat has Scorpion & Sub-Zero, Tekken has Kazuya & Jin, KOF has Kyo & Iori, and Guilty Gear has Sol & Ky.
I think Cyclops, Spider-Man, and Captain America might be the only Marvel shotos in the Marvel VS Capcom series.
I’m hoping we get at least ONE Final Fight character for Street Fighter 6… like Sodom.
I kinda would like to see Balrog (Boxer), Vega (Claw), and Sagat return for Street Fighter 6.
What’s your favorite fighting game character archetype? Call me boring if you want, but I think mine might be the Shoto Character (Balanced/All-Rounder). They're easy to use, but hard to master.
