Look if you walked up to me and pulled a gun to my head and told me to spell Sesame, I'd say shoot me.

The more I look at the Ultimate spirit selection, the weirder it gets for me, cause there are some really weird gaps or overrepresented parts of a series via Spirits. I'll use Kirby, Fire Emblem, and Mega Man as primary examples.

Comparing them to Mario, which has practically every part of its series represented in some capacity, these series have some very noticeable holes. Kirby is the most simple so I'll start with it. Once again, it has a very clear Kirby Super Star bias, as a bunch of characters from those games are Spirits. Like, how is ****ing Plasma Wisp in any way shape or form relevant? But that aside, the modern games get shafted as they have like 1, maybe 2 spirits representing each game. This is compared to the large number from older games. They also included ****ing Gryll which was a bit weird when other more notable characters like Shadow Kirby, DMK, and Drawcia just don't show up at all. Really weird exclusions and inclusions on that end, not as bad as other series at least.

Fire Emblem, despite having a very wide supporting cast, ironically has some of the worst representation of certain games. The Valentia games literally only have Alm and Celica, the Elibe games have a very odd selection, and the Arachnea spirits are very oversaturated compared to everything else (Did we really need Bord and Cord and Barst?). Most games hardly get over five characters from each one and thus miss out on a lot of key characters like Zephiel, Arvis, and Myrrh. Even the games playable characters are from don't get that many all things considered.

Mega Man is super weird. Despite the main focus being the Mega Man X series nowadays, Mega Man X has hardly any Spirits at all, most of them are from Classic Mega Man (Which also randomly excludes a bunch of later installments) Like off the top of my head all they have is X, Zero, and Sigma and no one else. Not to mention like every other Mega Man series has like, maybe 2 spirits max.

Another thing is that the more recent the series is in Smash, the less Spirits they have. Like Spirit totals from series like Punch Out and Metroid is honestly really small. The spirit distribution is really wonky overall.

My dream randomly tried generating a Better Call Saul episode despite me never watching nor thinking too hard about the series in the first place, and basically

Saul, Skylar, and Walt Jr get stuck on a deserted island and they get out, but Skylar gets pissed at Saul about something. Saul actually apologizes about it, very heartfelt. Suddenly, his boss shows up (I think my brain used the dude with schizophrenia or Ehrmantraut to represent him) and he congratulated Saul on finally changing, and told him to go to the house. However, Skylar realized that the family truck (a pretty beat up white pickup) was by the house, and Saul stole it and left. Then my dream ended.


Despite never watching an episode it feels accurate.

I feel the problem with making a series' music playable on any stage from the series is that you're not gonna hear half the tracks in the OST most of the time. Sure, you're always more likely to hear the boosted tracks, but even in older games there were less tracks per stage that could potentially play other than them. For bigger series where there are dozens of tracks it means a damn lot of them will probably not be heard a lot unless you edit the settings with My Music, and doing that for nearly every stage is a chore. Not to mention the Smash stages being capable of playing any track, meaning you're very unlikely to hear tracks from Smash Bros on a stage outside of the main Battlefield and Final Destination themes.

Chernabog is a really funny villain cause half of his appearances have him be the most menacing thing possible and the other half have him be super easy to deal with.

I think the problem with Smash's roster isn't that it's list of franchises is too small: If anything it's too big. Like if you look at the playable character list, most series only have one Character to their name, maybe two. And it's almost always the big protagonist or the big name of the series. I feel the amount of series it's representing makes it so the picks are more boring overall as you have to prioritize the big important characters a series has rather than the more interesting side cast of the series. Like I feel Mario has a good mix of big names that are also interesting (Such as Rosalina and Bowser Jr) compared to say, Kirby or Punch-Out, which have a diverse cast in their home series but are instead restricted to their main core character(s).

Story Pitch: Murder Mystery. Random dude kills some guy during a getaway in the boonies in a mansion with some friends. Instead of doing anything dramatic, he just stabs him and leaves. However, all of his friends are avid murder mystery fans, and end up overcomplicating everything to a humorously high level by examining every detail thoroughly and believing it to be more complex than it actually was. The dude has to try to get away with it whilst his friends comedically overexaggerate the murder, completely oblivious to the killer being him. There is one dude there who knows its the other guy as he's the only one with common sense, but is scared to say it out of fear of the other guy killing him, and we see their two viewpoints as the one dude drops hints of the real killers identity whilst the other tries to hide he did it whilst the friends are oblivious to everything.

Betting you right now, Grafaiai is gonna be that one mon that'll randomly follow the main cast around in the anime like what they did with Jigglypuff and Morpeko.
