When I hear the name "Kalos", I don't think "Pokemon version of France", but instead "A square with two thin rectangles to the left and right of it". Pokemon Y was the second game I ever beat without cheats.

I like the idea of an Amingo-style OC fighter in Smash in concept, but given how Smash has handled original worlds and characters in the past, I'd rather not risk it. Maybe something more Sonson-adjacent, a new character from an existing universe, could work well under Sakurai though.

I'm generally not one to get mad at "mischaracterization" - I actually love how people can take one thing, and twist it into their own different thing - but god damn, I hate seeing every single silent game protagonist homogenized into a "uber-talented ultra-powerful badass" and having their silence interpreted diegetically.

I have never been as equally "I love this" and "I hate this" about a game than I have about Mouse, On one hand, I think "evil Mickey" is really overdone and IMO they should've gone for either a different species or a different style of drawing mouse ears; and I'm just not really an FPS guy unless it's on-rails - but on the other hand, the combination of 30s cartoon styles and 30s gangster stories is absolutely perfect; 2D sprites on 3D backgrounds always hits well for me; and it's great to see more 100% black & white games out there - I especially like how they didn't pull a Madworld and make the blood red. (not that Madworld looks bad or anything, just that red blood would look out of place in this specific game)

Saying this as a noob so I'm probably completely wrong here, but I'm surprised Mike is the one people find OP in Speedstorm and not Belle - Mike's doors are easy to avoid, but Belle has an extremely fast boost charge, and gets double boosts basically every other box

Speedstorm is fun. No CTR, but what is? Monetization is rather intrusive and unfortunately features lootboxes instead of just purchasing characters - I have a feeling I'll be stuck with just Mickey, Donald, and Baloo for a while - but I do like that they let you trial other characters every now and then. The whole "epic gamer" aesthetic gels a lot better with me than I expected. The promo art and short trailer snippets don't do the tracks themselves justice, they're a lot more true to their source material than you'd think. Weirdly, the game rewards you more for single player story mode than online play?

While I do think he should sit it out until Smash gets a 2600 rep, I honestly do believe there's a better argument to be made for Bubsy in Smash than most other 3rd party platformer characters (including a certain duo who are already in the game). I'm also kinda curious what the response would be to his inclusion - this is a series it seems nobody wants to properly engage with or learn about the history of beyond potshots and memes, (which TBF also applies to Atari 2600 games) and is prime fodder for Smash fans to label a "meme pick".
