From that last post, I've started Googling "does Minecraft have insert animal or mythical creature here" non-stop and I'm very surprised by what they don't have. Apparently the reason for not putting in sharks is "they're misunderstood, and we don't want to encourage people to kill sharks", which is fair buuuut... if sharks don't kill people in real life, can't you just make it so that sharks don't kill Steves?
It never really dawned upon me how weird it it is that Minecraft doesn't have official dinosaur mobs, not even a fictional species or as a part of a mob vote - hell, they don't even have a non-boss dragon mob. I'm pretty sure that paleo kids and Minecraft kids are a circular venn diagram.
i cant believe nobody ever checked every commerical mascot ever's copyright. they're all public domain, each and every one of them (HYPERBOLE), and i'm the first guy to catch on, i feel like i'm in that one movie big joel talked about one time about the guy with the magic glasses but instead of propaganda made by an alien illuminati it's the legal status of fictional cartoon characters made to sell children high-calorie food.

I really do not like Toy Story 4, but I'm gonna defend it in one regard: Gabby Gabby did nothing wrong. I love CTRNF, it's one of my all-time favourite games, but god damn the Golden Wumpa might be one of the worst designed mechanics in any games I've ever played, it basically just rewards going slow and not taking shortcuts

I was planning to do an "every GBA Disney game ranked" list on Backloggd, but the first 2 games I ran into were:
- Tokyo DisneySea, an unlocalised dialog driven rock paper scissors game
- Aladdin, a port I can very clearly tell has awesome source material despite not having played it, but is so poorly optimised that it makes me want to die (in a joking sense)
Been thinking about Foodfight a lot since that documentary came out, and looking at the infamously misleading DVD cover, I feel like there's a very specific aesthetic from the early 2010s, Frutiger Aero adjacent but without the futuristic element, nobody really talks about, that only really existed in promo material for bargain bin kids' media, where it's all curved barren terrain on perfect blue skies with perfect, individually rendered green grass - I assume this is the subconcious result of Windows XP Bliss being burned into everyone's heads for a whole decade

Say what you want about WB pushing "evil Superman", but at least that's something that logically makes sense on a basic level in-universe instead of being based on external fandom knowledge, and has not replaced the original character completely, "evil Scrappy Doo" is neither.
I don't get why people treat Sora getting in Smash as if it's some kind of selfless charity donation? Even if you don't share my view that Namco Smash, and especially the Ballot, is very cynical and marketing-driven; completely ignore/don't know that Sakurai has gone on record to saying Sora's negotiations were a matter of chance and not effort; and come up with some kind of gatekeepy reason as to why the many, many fans who didn't want Sora don't count, people act like this was equivalent to Nintendo feeding a billion orphans and not just an Exciting Gaming Moment.

I don't like how whenever Nintendo fans talk about non-Smash Nintendo crossovers, it's always Nintendo-to-Nintendo, with the exception of maybe Sonic or something. Get weird with it, you know? Give me a Pokemon Conquest or a Mario + Rabbids. Come up with a cartoon or anime crossover or something.
It's really funny to me that the Game Awards started as a segment on Spike TV. Every award, every reveal, every tear of pride or jealousy, is the legacy of CAN YOU FART SO HARD YOUR B-
I do think that #FreeMelee and the backlash towards 3D All-Stars, even though they probably didn't effect Nintendo's bottom line at all, even positively or indirectly, did make one thing about Nintendo change for the better, albeit more out of luckly timing than anything else: they were some of the first public corporate decisions made under Doug Bowser's Nintendo, and because that was the first impression, it basically killed any chance of Bowser successfully farming the parasocial clout Nintendo has weaponised since Howard & Nester in the 80s (and god did he try for a year or two), and allowed people to look back more critically on the likes of Reggie and Iwata as public figures.

As much as I want a good Bubsy game, I do admit that there would probably be an extremely antagonistic divide between long-time Bubsy fans and newcomers should that happen.
The intro of Caddicarus' "PS1 games for babies" video where he talks about kids' games being used as an excuse for lazy parents addicted to PS1 games to tell their spouses feels very suspiciously specific.

People complaining about gaming "becoming" reliant on "nostalgia pandering" is really funny because early 80s video games soundtracks were obsessed with ragtime and soul, genres that were popular in the 50s and 60s respectively.
