That is good advice. + it's wifi, which always looks clunkier than offline replays. My problem is I don't know how PT should play and end up using a few PT tactics I know pay off but play like I would with Link. It's weird how much I have Link spacing/timing/tactics in my head:
PT

I'll practice PT's moves but it's more about me not knowing how moves work and when to use them; after learning that I'll land more hits. I picked up PT because I didn't understand him.
well like it was previously said, your Link is stronger than your PT character. Just a bit of advice when playing Ganon, be wary of the wizard's foot stomp move. Your opponent didn't really do a lot of those, but that is something really to look out for. Usually when I am playing a nasty Ganon who really wants to be a power player, I make Charzy do some down airs myself even on the stage in a short hop. You can connect two of those at low percents and off stage you get the chance to do a meteor. Send the pain right back. A nasty Ganon is not something to take lightly. That is a hard fight. With Ivy, I like to do backwards directional neutral airs in a short hop or mid hop and keep going as much as I can with adding regular back airs as they try to get distance with DI. When you land try to get in the habit of doing a down A attack to get you some distance from the Ganon player. Otherwise a nasty Ganon player will be likely to go on a chain grab spree with low level hits to rack up damage quickly. With Squirtle, do some chain grabs yourself and watch your recoveries over the ledge. A nasty Ganon will try to hit your waterfall or withdraw slide attack with a Wizard's foot stomp move. It is nasty. You have to watch out for the knock back as you won't have much distance to get back with a jump and you have to use waterfall or withdraw. This is where the other two can have less to worry about as tether can grab further out depending on angle and Charizard can glide back in a lot of cases. Hope that helps.
To develop your PT, I would suggest you play the AI on level 9 and pick Luigi and Zelda. That should help you develop some timing.
Just some advice. I am not a perfect PT player (as I struggle at times and have struggled a lot in the past), but we are all trying to make this "thang" work with these Pokeballs.
EDIT: One more thing, don't rocksmash too often against a nasty Ganon. You will be punished for it. Only sparingly and when you can get some surprise on it. It can be a good finisher to a stock if you keep it fresh.
