Rog(Pokemon Trainer) vs. Yaaay (Peach).
Offline competitive friendlies. We played for 5 hours straight, took some random matches. The matches were quite experimental since we both had no clue about the other character. Please let me know what you think.

Depends on who/where for me. Generally, I usually find myself dropping out after a while to play my DS or some nostalgia bomb on an older video game system. I have 30-minute sessions with my older brother, three-hour practice sessions, and everything in between. *shrugs*

I can pretty much go nonstop, until it gets to be too late/my hands hurt. One of the guys has been over since 2:45, and now we've got 10 people over. Sadly we're lacking the usual third setup, so we're doing a lot of doubles now...which isn't so hot for Bowser. :(

well i wouldn't disapoint as im the one who discovered pits walking regrab on people and that his DACG done after 2 walkin regrabs allows him to cg bowser and dk up past 60% and it is completely inescapable.
Dude, I've been doing that since literally '08.

I'll teach you some stuff at WHOBO.

EDIT: Zigstas gon' whoop dat ***!

That peach is good. Pick one that you want to be critiqued. They're pretty boring tbh. Nothing wrong with your play though.

Nice that I triggered a conversation :) did anyone watch my battles? I was hoping to get some comments from you guys.
Match 1 looked good:). Maybe space farther away with Ivy. I need to watch my PT videos with good squirtles, it looks like you've got him(her?) down. Sorry for not being more helpful but I'm not qualified to give PT advice. Good PT:bee:.

It doesn't matter if you for example played the game for the first time 3 days ago, if you got useful advice like in this case, I would take it :) I'm struggling with Ivysaur's defensive game, I often take to much risk with my pt which you will probably see in the latter battles to.

Not serious matches, but could anyone give me some tips on what to work on. I find it very difficult to deal with Snake's Dacus as Ivysaur.

First match.
It's probably a good idea to start with squirtle 9 of 10 times, with that I also noticed you switched to squirtle while having a damaged charizard at 104%, keep in mind that squirtle is suppose to be your main way of winning, to get the most out of pt it's a good idea to base your gamestyle around him/her. Watch your spacing, especially with ivysaur. You also got edge-hogged twice and both could get prevented.

Second match.
Ivysaur is a huge risk against snake, but with some right timed bullet seeds, it could go either way. Try mixing your game up a bit, razor leafs let nades explode if snake is holding them, nair when he's close can do some damage and prevents you from getting hit all the time, just watch out with the grass type, she get's killed so fast against snake. Once again, don't switch out your damaged charizard for squirtle, get him fresh.

Tirth match.
Sorry, this battle is odd. It feels like the snake is sandbagging you, I'll leave this one out.

Ivy feels too slow to do anything about Snakedashing. All I know how to do about it is to grab him as he passes by, but I don't know which throws will break the mortar.

SOrry tesh....I had a horror story with my car breaking down in the bronx and me having to push it up a hill and wait for a tow truck for 6 hours. I'll get on this asap.....because I remember watching your vids and seeing a few key things you could change.

BTW no johns about the car I just figured you deserved an explanation

Ok Tesh as promised heres my summary of the issues I saw.

Game 1: The whole Ivy stock you seem to play the matchup wrong.....you throw razor leaves before he approaches so you not really killing any options of lucarios just your own fatigue meter. You manage to get right in front of Lucario quite a few times where you don't want to be.....Ivy has a slow grab and bulletseed I believe is the fastest frame option at 4, so you kinda gave him advantage. You have to space about a full b-air between you and him and increment for the amount of damage he has.....hes got range but so does Ivy so play keep away. You jumped up at him as he was coming down a few times which is a battle you'll lose due to his d-air unless you space u-air very very well. Lastly you double razor leaf'd at upon trying to come back when you were in range to up-b it might have been a mistake but with Ivy mistake = stock.
You f-air a lot with zard lol......f-air is a gimp tool and a GTFO move so don't throw it around the way you did. You used rocksmash correctly at times where you challenged one of lucario's attacks with RS...but misused it on shields. Shields you wanna make sure if it hits a shield your spaced correctly so you cant get shield grabbed.
Your squirtle also played the matchup wrong Aerial lucario > aerial squirtle....sad to hear I know but its the truth. If you stay grounded as squirtle you keep lucario moderatly grounded where you can punish him alot more with short hopped aerials to get everything started then string into air combos. Staying in the air allows lucario to exploit squirtles smaller hitboxes and tack on damage.....you gotta remember squirtle is the 2nd lightest in the game so if lucario's tacking damage on it's no good.

Game 2: I can comment on each pokemon and I'll do it quick.......Learn snake's spacing you basically ran into every f-tilt he threw which is the big portion of the snake matchup. His f-tilt can outspace most of PT's options....just like in the lucario matchup you gotta use b-air and razor leaf to keep him spaced away. You jumped directly over snake at death % with squirtle.....and that should always result in a snake u-tilt which will kill squirtle.
3 guidelines for each poke in the snake matchup.

Squirtle:
-Use water gun to push grenades and create opening
-Use platforms to get under snake and start a rush down
-Jab more! it's frame one and will clink with f-tilt so be careful but not afraid
-If you put snake off stage use your aerials to make him pay for it hard......his recovery is not
great and should always force him to take quite a bit of damage opening up kill opportunities

Ivy:
- Razor leaf more! It blows up greandes forces him to respond (unless he powershields them) and can also set up
for a grab or air combo
- I know snake dashing is rough but it's real obvious when they are gonna do it. If they are on the other side of
the stage or any other good distance away and aren't camping nades they'll do it. Look for this and capitalize.
Pivot grabs beat it, N-air can beat it, b-air can beat it, I even think a razor leaf can clink it.
- BULLET SEED! One of these will result in snake being real mad.....you seem to have a good idea of when to bullet
seed and when not to. So try implementing it more
- Recover smarter. Last stock you basically said gimp me when you were at 50% by waiting wayy to long to
tether. You can razor leaf to keep them away and use tether...don't stray from that pattern.

Zard:
- Flamethrower bounces nade's around and doesnt blow them up initiatly it's good at keep snake away.
- Careful of snake's d-throw it leaves zard in a bad case so you also dont wanna go to crazy with flamethrower
because with good SDI a snake can turn a flamethrower into a d-throw that will suck for you
- Just for a heads up zard can really go toe to toe with snake. Just rememer his f-tilt and u-tilt range and space -
his traps. It sounds worse than it is but you can handle it.
- You should grab more with zard it's got nice reach and can cause some real nonsense if snake just plucked a
nade.

Well so I promised I'd point out issues.....they seem more matchup based than just general gameplay so learn your matchups with PT!!!

Sure

It's usually a good idea to jump back as you fire razor leaves. Random dair is random. Try using bullet seed a lot less and bair/nair more. After Peach daired you at 1:14 you might have been able to grab, it's what I would have done anyway. Why did you upsmash metaknight? And at the end there you should have just faired Samus. Good job though.

What do I need to improve on really? I'm surprised at how massive watergun's hitbox is. Its funny getting gimps with it, I'm going to use it more often, looks like it would be pretty safe vs MK too if I'm careful.

I'm not experienced enough to give a full critique but here's a few things:
Sonic
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vupL8szJLpI
Your squirtle doesn't move around the stage very much and takes a lot of damage that could be dodged by moving. 0:53 Nice catch haha! @ 1:20ish you start moving more but still rely on squirtle's great grab/jab game; you might diversify with hydroplaning. 1:40ish squirt's air game starts. Space your landing farther from sonic with double jumps and more side movement- he should have shield grabbed a few of those. You pressure well but like to use the same move several times in a row (I do this too :/), mix it up.

Ivy razor leafs at pointblank range at 2:04, maybe Ftilt or backwards SH razer leaf would have been better. Good Fair and swap stratedgy.

(Whoa, crazy Char texture!) Char fishes for grabs like squirtle 2:25-2:30, mix in some other tricks; it did work though. Sonic's a good gimper, I don't know if the pokemon are vulnerable to this, just be careful when planking. 3:34 good reading Sonic for that Fsmash. Good jab canceling grab chain, Sonic's a sucker. Good reading him in the air with that Bair at the end. It scared him to death (haha dumb pun).

In general diversify and play more mindgames. Good technique, good PT.

Thanks, I never hydroplane because it feels sort of gimmicky when I do it. I'm just not good at applying it practically.

1 thing i just wanna say, that razor leaf wasn't really point blank. He was at the ledge when the move started, but its just so friggen slow. Ivysaur is borderline useless in that matchup though, I just don't switch him out immediately in friendlies like I should.
