for starters on the red ability cards, they are played before you roll a bakugan, except any that say otherwise. if you'll read the second edition of the bakugan manual, it says in the Q&A section, and i quote "cards always hold precedence over the rules", unquote. gate card, set!

dark wind is one of the red ability cards able to be played after you roll and stand a bakugan, and it allows me to move any standing bakugan to any gate card. so lumagrowl, rubanoid. rubanoid, lumagrowl.
rubanoid: "nice to meet you in battle."
lumagrowl: "likewise"

bakupod: "BATTLE COMMENCING. HAOS LUMAGROWL POWER LEVEL, 810G. DARKUS RUBANOID POWER LEVEL, 760G."
battle gear, go! Destrakon Gear! (destrakon gear is attached to rubanoid, altering his physical appearance)
bakupod: "DESTRAKON GEAR DETECTED. DARKUS RUBANOID POWER LEVEL RAISED TO 850G."
batte gear are played during battle, and give boosts to your bakugan's G-Power. sadly, they are only compatible with gundalian invaders series bakugan and only certain releases of previous series bakugan, such as a rerelease of Helios MK2, which was only released in japan. the battlegear-compatible rerelease was distinguishable with a different colored horn.
