So I've decided to go through which franchises I believe have a shot of getting a new DLC character, franchises that already have one such as Pokemon I've disregarded, and third-party franchises have also been disregarded, so without further ado, let's begin.

More likely as in likelier than other franchises. I forgot about Plasm Wraith though so I edited the list.

It's very likely weather it be this time around . Or in Sma5sh they'll be in. They've done a lot are popular characters, and their series is dominating. I'm sure one way or the other they'll get in.

Well... I don't have anything against Splatoon... But I don't want to see Inkling as DLC.... Their inclussion would make sense, but I don't like the idea of see them been priotized over older characters that lost their chance as Smash Characters before.

Honest question: Do most people feel like major fake leaks increase a character's chances? I'm asking this because it feels like people only started thinking Inklings were the 2nd most likely character after the whole twitter leak. I'm not saying Inklings aren't likely, but did the fake leak "wake people up" to their chances or did something else happen in between now and when people started to see the Inklings as more likely? Sorry for the stupid question but I'm honestly confused on why their chances seemed to rise.

I want Inklings because I have played their game and like them. This is the same reason other people want Inklings. This is also the reason people support other characters.

Shovel Knight and Isaac don't suck (you're sentence was poorly written so I didn't understand which one you were referring to. Neither of them suck).

Yea I should grammar better, I forgot I'm on internet. But I know why people want inklings I'm just saying much older characters should have spot over them and they're lame(personal opinion I know but still). And I ment Shovel knight as he doesn't really belong in sm4sh over you know other Nintendo characters. IM all for Isaac. And plz don't say well ryu isn't Nintendo because yes we all know that, but at least Capcom and Nintendo do a lot of work together also Street fighter 2 was one of the big selling points to get a super Nintendo over a sega

It's not so much shovel knight doesn't fit, but more so that there are idk Nintendo characters that deserve it way more than a random "homage" paying indie game. I'm sure if Nintendo throws him in they'll make him fit but that's not my concern

If Shovel Knight doesn't get in it'll be because he wasn't iconic/important enough, not because he's a third party character (he has a lot of popularity in the west, but in the end of the day he's an indie character with a single game). The Ryu comparison doesn't apply to begin with, even though he's 3rd party he's an icon in gaming history.

Like I said before, Inklings probably have the biggest division in support. You either really like them or really don't want them to be in the game, which makes sense a lot of their charm comes from playing the game (I didn't like their design before, but after playing the game a lot I warmed up to it and find it adorable now). However, I'd argue that the Inklings huge popularity as Nintendo's newest character balances out their lack of space in Nintendo history.

Well there wasn't any good plans for Ridley in Smash 4, so here's hoping he was one.

So before you get butthurt over their possible inclusion, understand that it was probably because Nintendo wanted them in the game. I don't think they had the ballot support that giants like Wolf and K Rool did. If they got in, it probably wouldn't be a hinderence to the chances of those guys getting in from the ballot.

I wouldn't care if they got in or not. They're just a character from a game I find mediocre and as such don't care if they're in or not.
