While I understand the vibes brought by these comparisons, the implications that some of them bring surprise me.

Like, Buster and Babs are collectively Dr. Mario instead of being the Ice Climbers counterparts? Fred and Daphne being one person, thus inviting a new theory to their relationship? All three PPG equal one Samus before splitting into Zero Suit in Brawl? Superman as an asset-recycled Joey Tribiani? Elmer fusing with Cecil Turtle?

However, I will admit that this is generally a good idea. I just have points to disgree with, as usual on the Internet.

Something a little more grounded, maybe? A Toei Company vs. Bandai-Namco title that still gets created by Eighting, but in place of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, released in 2008. I think there's at least a little logic behind this; keeping the "Cross Generation of Heroes" theme, it'd be focused on Toei's live-action output (with a couple of bits of animated stuff from the Toei Animation side of things, partially courtesy of Go Nagai's output to supplement the massive Ishinomori focus) while a recently-merged Bandai-Namco would lend things from all sides of its libraries; from its toy offerings all the way to stuff like Banpresto.

Toei Company
Cross-Generation of Heroes' base roster for the arcade release only featured 9 characters on each side, so I'll present things in a similar fashion here. Toei's side of the roster has a massive focus on their tokusatsu output, but that's kind of by design; a lot of their Animation stuff is owned by other publishers, while much of their other live-action offerings tend to be in the form of B-movies or have actor likenesses attached to them that might be an issue. (Case in point, I genuinely considered Sonny Chiba's character in The Street Fighter here, but didn't feel it'd work very well.)
  • Bouken Red (Super Sentai) - More of a promotional pick than anything as our headliner. I think Boukenger's themes of adventure and recovering treasures kind of lends well to a heroic narrative, and Red's nature as a calm but fiery fighter feels like it lends well to some fun interactions. He'd mostly fight with his Bouken Javelin as an odd mid-range tool, using staff twirls and fire-embued attacks for a decent amount of range, but it'd also be funny to have his Lv. 3 super call in his gigantic dump truck.
  • White Swan (Super Sentai) - Our second Sentai rep. Jetman might be an odd pick to go with at a glance; not as internationally iconic as Zyuranger or as historically significant as Gorenger - but the cultural significance it had at the time (to the point of being covered in J-drama magazines!) plus its legacy continues as a sort of fan-favourite, so I think a pick from it would be warranted. Swan's moveset sort of ties into the aerial themes overall, having an aerially focused moveset that's good at applying pressure both laterally and from above.
  • Space Sheriff Gavan (Metal Hero) - I felt it'd be remiss not to represent the Metal Hero series, despite it having been inactive since the late 90s - and Gavan felt like a decent candidate for that as a result. He'd probably be a mid-range keepaway zoner of sorts, using his various projectiles as well as his baton to bring the hurt onto opponents; and it'd also be fun for his interactions with more questionable heroes to suggest he wants to bring them in for questioning.
  • Cure Black & Cure White (Pretty Cure) - I picture these two as a sort of two-in-one deal, befitting of the early Pretty Cure series' focus on friendship and teamwork in order to get the job done. That said, only one of them would be "in the plane" at a given time; they'd hold hands for specials, but otherwise the other is ever so slightly in the background. A light and airy moveset focused on their magical abilities, and the balance between light and dark, feels like it'd be particularly fitting to represent them.
  • Devilman (Devilman) - The first of two Nagai characters, chosen because I think his significance to Toei Animation's history would justify inclusion, and also that I think it's not out of the realms of possibility for his stuff to be included alongside a big focus on Ishinomori's work. Despite being ostensibly based on his anime appearance, his design would feature full trousers, more to Nagai's actual liking. As Devilman, Fudo's moveset is essentially full rushdown, being at his best when up close and slashing at opponents - but still capable of setting up mixups with some ranged projectiles from his forehead. He'd also have a massive attack buff as a high-level super, taking over Fudo's body entirely while becoming faster and stronger... but also more susceptible to damage, kind of like Akuma.
  • Kikaider-01 (Kikaider) - A robot programmed with the sole purpose of helping others, though unable to develop as a person because of it, I think Ichiro's appearance here would be warranted - even if over his predecessor. I can't really imagine Kikaider's moveset being anything too spectactular, though; think of him as a simpler character with very few gimmicks, albeit with more of a close-range toolkit than Bouken Red.
  • Kamen Rider #1 (Kamen Rider) - Possibly an unorthodox pick, specifically in this case based on his appearance in Kamen Rider: The First. To offset Hongo's general lack of special gimmicks compared to later Riders, he'd have a mechanic that allows him to acquire "Typhoon Charges" by performing forward movements like dashes, air-dashes, and super-jumps - charging his Typhoon belt with the force of wind in order to then allow him to cancel specials (just like Polimar did in TvC.) He could also totally have a special Lv. 3 super when paired with other Riders that allows him to perform a Double Rider Kick?
  • Kamen Rider Kabuto (Kamen Rider) - A Heisei Rider, chosen more specifically for relative recency (akin to Bouken Red) but as not to be too recent. Kabuto's main gimmick (as with the other Riders in his series) is that his Henshin has him transformed into a pupa-like form characterised by being heavily armoured, but very slow; and can then perform a Cast-Off to enter the faster Rider form. Kabuto would kind of play into this, I think - he's typically a bruiser, but you can perform a special to have him Cast-Off at any time, transforming from a heavyweight bruiser to a flyweight rushdown in an instant. However, performing it again - or getting to low health - has him perform a Put-On, regaining his armoured state.
  • Mazinger Z (Mazinger Z) - Similar to Devilman, Mazinger Z's abilities and appearance are mainly inspired by the Toei animation. He's considered a Giant Character similar to PTX-40A and Gold Lightan in TvC, and is powerful to match this; but his toolkit is focused mostly on powerful close-range strikes, supplmented with rocket propulsion for things like punches. He's also got some decent mid-range zoning tools like his Breast Fire or Rust Hurricane, but generally lacks in long-range tools by comparison.
Then, followed by the Wii release, which can kind of get away with featuring some less immediately obvious characters,
  • K (Robot Detective K) - Another 70s Ishinomori rep, but one I think would stand out enough to warrant inclusion. K's nature as a robotic detective might seem ill-suited for combat at first, but he can more than hold his own in a fight; not least because of the guns hidden in his chest or his rocket-propelled feet. Some kind of gentlemanly boxer archetype coupled with his robotic nature could be quite fun to play around with, which would make it all the more shocking when he enters Blow-Up Mode, one more dedicated for fighting.
  • Tokugawa Mitsukuni (Mito Kōmon) - Possibly an oddity, but I think a fitting one. Mito Kōmon was a particularly long-running drama series produced by Toei that focused on the fictionalised exploits of the historical figure listed here, as an adaptation of the Mito Kōmon legend. He's presented as a wanderer in disguise who dispels evil across Japan, disguised as a commoner to prevent suspicion; and I think his more unorthodox brawling and swordfighting style, coupled with other iconic elements like his inrō, would lend to something fun.
And, lastly, the Ultimate All-Stars release (which cuts Mitsukuni due to actor likeness licensing, in a similar manner to Hakushon Daimaō's cut),
  • TimeYellow (Super Sentai) - I think Timeranger is decently warranted for something like this, and Domon specifically feels like he'd lend well in terms of both personality and his abilities and the like; mainly because I picture him as a grappler due to his MMA experience. He'd be a bit of an oddity here in that he'd get quite a large variety of takes on his supers depending on buttons used; allowing for different Vector attacks that can have different hitboxes and effects based on the hands of a clock.
  • Riderman (Kamen Rider) - A true Showa-era Rider, I think Riderman is specifically an odd, but interesting pick who's got some fan pedigree behind him. He's an oddity among Riders for not being fully-converted, only possessing a robotic arm that can be switched between attachments - which would be the main focus of his toolkit, a little like Volnutt's in TvC. With anything from a machine gun to a grappling hook, it's possible to switch from a zoner to a grappler all the way to a highly mobile and evasive character as needed.
  • Inazuman (Inazuman) - Inazuman's baseline concept kind of has some similarities to Kabuto's at a glance, but I think it'd be handled in a pretty different way. Mainly, Inazuman would be a more defensive character who can build energy (in the form of temporary buffs, think a little like Incineroar's Revenge) when attacked while performing a specific counter that puts him in his pupa-like Zangaiman form. In his normal state, he does have a couple of ranged attacks, but his buffed state - referred to as Flash - allows him to imbue his attacks with electricity and grants him a larger, more versatile array of projectiles. This makes him a bit of an oddity, working best when he can draw opponents in before decimating them from afar.
Bandai-Namco
  • Jin Kazama (Tekken) - Chosen as probably the closest thing we have to a "protagonist" of the Tekken series, I think Jin's in a good spot here, especially shortly after Tekken 5's introduction of the Devil Jin playstyle. I would only suggest Devil Jin appear in his supers, but his normal moveset still has enough sauce to work in something like this; his focus on Kyokushin karate with minor elements of Mishima style could lend to something pretty fun.
  • King II (Tekken) - Probably the closest thing to a hero in the Tekken world, I felt King would be a great choice given his unilaterally heroic characterisation, iconic look, and the opportunity to go for a straight-up grappler is something I just can't pass up. His professional wrestling fighting style and immense chain throws would absolutely lend to something unique, and I think leaning heavily into his manga inspriations (like Kinnikuman!) would help him really stand out here.
  • Taki (SoulCalibur) - Taki might be a bit of an unorthodox pick to represent the Soul series, but I think her fan-favourite nature and her potential for a fast-paced rushdown playstyle befitting of her nature as a kunoichi would make her a pretty perfect candidate for this role. She's also one of the characters featured since the first game, Soul Edge, and her pair of kodachi would absolutely give her a fantastic vibe all her own.
  • Taizo Hori (Dig Dug) - So, this is probably the closest thing we have to an outright "Namco-rep", who uses his fresh redesign featured in Namco x Capcom complete with his massive pile bunker. It just feels like this kind of look would stand out while still being fitting in a place like this - and as you can imagine, he'd be a powerful character who can deal obscene damage, but relies on some pretty stringent positioning to ensure he can be optimally effective.
  • Colette Brunel (Tales of...) - Perhaps another unorthodox candidate to represent the Tales series, but I deliberately didn't want an oversaturation of sword-fighters in the roster, and Colette's role in arguably one of the more popular games in the franchise at the time (namely Symphonia) felt like it lent well to her inclusion here regardless. Her use of angelic chakrams and powerful light-based magic in combat feels like it'd lend well to her being an interesting combatant, not to mention the potential that could come about from utilising her wings to give her extra aerial options.
  • Haseo (.hack//G.U.) - The main character of both Roots and G.U., Haseo's based here on his earliest appearance in which he fights with dual blades, and continually implies in his interactions that he's somehow been digitized into this world. A lot of his attacks utilise his dual blades, but he's also capable of using a larger broadsword and even a scythe, given his nature as an Adept Rogue; with his moveset generally relying on punishes for optimal effectiveness, only enhanced by a buffed effectiveness when attacking from behind in the form of a cross-up.
  • Gaomon (Digimon) - One of our Digimon characters, chosen partially from a desire to represent the Bandai side of things while also in recognition of Toei Animation's work on the Digimon anime. Gaomon's chosen as one of the leading Digimon from Savers, mstly because I think his "bestial boxing" would be fun to work with as well as his tendency to defer to commands; plus, a dedicated Digivolution mechanic allowing him to Digivolve into Gaogaomon (with greater range, speed, and attack power) after dealing enough damage, or Mach Gaogaomon as a super install, could be plenty of fun.
  • Renamon (Digimon) - More of a fan-favourite Digimon this time around, representing Tamers. With a loosely similar ninja-like theming to Taki, you might think they'd be similar; but Renamon would play into more of the mystical elements associated with this, featuring fancy counters, leaf-based attacks, and claw attacks. Coupling this with powerful supers that Digivolve her into Kyubimon for powerful signature attacks, and Renamon's a character who excels at building meter and capitalising as much as possible.
  • GAT-X105 Strike Gundam (Mobile Suit Gundam SEED) - The first Gundam piloted by Kira Yamato in the Cosmic Era, I opted for this particular model over some later ones more closely associated with the lead character mostly because I think its malleability lends well to a lot of fun in terms of visuals. It's another Giant character similar to Mazinger, but this Gundam would be focused on a slightly higher level of maneouverability with the XM404 Anti-Ship Sword making up a large number of its normals. Beyond that, it's also able to shift between Striker Pack states that alter properties further; either the Aile Striker, which increases aerial maneuverability and ground speed, or the Sword Striker, increasing the range and power of normals in exchange for slower movement.
Followed again by the Wii release,
  • Fighter Roar (Compati Hero) - Possibly an odd pick at a glance, but one I think is really fitting. The Compati Hero series was made up of a variety of different genres, unified by featuring characters from Gundam, Ultraman and Kamen Rider (alongside occasional other series, like Go Nagai's characters or the Godzilla franchise.) Fighter Roar was an original character for the franchise created by Banpresto, who would later be acquired by Bandai. As such; his moveset leans into the Compati Hero series' different genres; attacking with anything from his hoverboard to a dodgeball as a sort of jack-of-all-trades character.
  • Valkyrie (Valkyrie no Bōken) - A pretty iconic character in Namco's library who juuust about missed out to Taizo (mostly because I didn't want too many fantasy characters in the launch roster.) Not dissimilar to Taizo, she'd take a lot of influence from her appearance in Namco x Capcom, which in turn takes influence from her older games and the like; generally having a sword-and-shield moveset with inspirations from mythology. She's generally good at pressing through defences and striking hard up close, but struggles a little when at longer range.
And, lastly, Ultimate All-Stars,
  • KOS-MOS (Xenosaga) - Given her continual popularity with things like model kits and statuettes even to this day, KOS-MOS feels like a pretty good fan-favourite character who'd work well to offset other picks in the roster. She's not dissimilar to some other picks with her zoning focus, attacking with her F-SCYTHE for the most part but backing these up with the F-GSHOT chainguns for pretty oppressive aerial command. Of course, despite her high power, it's possible to use that lack of close-range options against her if you can get up close.
  • Agnimon (Digimon) - A representative of Frontier, I feel like Agnimon being a generally slightly more simplistic character makes some sense; having a focus on fire-based physical attacks that take influence from kenpo and yoga. However, his honest and understandable movelist shouldn't imply weakness - he'd still be more than capable of holding his own if used correctly, and can even Digivolve into Vritamon for exceptionally powerful supers.
Kind of a dream match, in some ways. But hey, if an Eighting developer had wandered into a different elevator, who knows what could have happened.

Not too many nights ago I dreamt a fighting game with a unusual structure:
Every stage had three rooms. Every fight started from the middle room and every time a character was pushed through a wall in the next room the fight continued there. The wall was rapidly patched up by the background charcters and the damage bars resetted.
If a character was pushed through an external wall it was either falling off a cliff or sweepedaway by an incoming vehicle, eputting an end to the match. If no one was pushed through an an external wall in the time limit the victory was given to the character that won most matches (patched walls were more easy to break). Being big and heavy meant you were more resistant but also more effective as a projectile against a wall.
And the characters were all furry characters from Fortnite.

Barely even a "roster" at this point, but here's my ideas for a "Full Course" Pizza Tower mod.

New Characters
  • Gustavo and Brick (current playstyle, but given more sprites. Levels also have their layout slightly altered to accomodate them; Otherwise it's practically identical to Peppino's campaign)
  • Pepperman (Grab replaced with a bouncing jump forward. Timing your bounces results in momentum boosts)
  • The Vigilante (would have guns and HP like beta builds)
  • Fake Peppino (can run on ceilings)
  • The Doise (Pogo Noise. Also, Peddito pesters you throughout each level ala Snick.exe. Fights The Noise in World 3)
  • Snick (It's him. Pretty much Sonic gameplay translated to Pizza Tower. Unlocked by completing Snick's Challenge on all floors)
New Floors
  • Basement (all levels based on early PT builds
    • Mozzerella Mansion
    • Strongcold
    • Space Pinball
    • Chinatown Throwdown
    • BOSS: Cheese Dragon
  • Sunroof
    • Tower Rangers (Super Sentai-inspired level; reintroduces the Toppin Warriors and the Superhero transformation)
    • Bemusement Park (Circus-themed level; focused on Clown Peppino)
    • Brie Bayou (Swamp-themed level)
    • Primordial Sauce (Prehistoric level)
    • BOSS: Pizzamancer
New Bosses
  • Clownmato (replaces Pepperman's boss fight in his campaign. Simple sprite swap)
  • John E. Cheese (replaces Vigilante's boss fight in his campaign. Framed as a flashback where John's still alive, with the two having a friendly spar. Otherwise, sprite swap)
  • Peppino (replaces Fake Peppino's boss fight in his campaign. Actually a little different - Peppino doesn't have clones, but his second phase is replaced with a fight against his mech)
  • Mr. Stick (unlocked by fully paying off Mr. Stick/collecting all Toppins. More of a proper boss rush than the Pizzahead fight ala the original plans for a Mr. Stick fight)
Misc. Additions
  • Lap 3 (duh)
  • Snick's Challenge (now available on each floor; beating all of them unlocks Snick)
  • Heat Mode (toggleable; readds Heat Meter)

What if Mario games did the Pac-Man thing?
A follow up to this
I guess in terms of crossovers in Mario games, I've always liked the idea of Mario doing to the black box games what Pac-Man does to Namco arcade games and making those characters mainstay parts of the series (which is already kinda implied in the Mario movie). Sure, some characters would stick out like a sore thumb (Mach Rider, Samus, Wild Gunman), but characters like Duck Hunt Dog, Bubbles, Star Man, the Balloon Fight fish, or hell even pre-Uprising Pit feel like they'd fit as seamlessly into Mario's world as Dig Dug, Galaga, Mappy, so on do into Pac-Man's with only minor character design tweeks.

Rhythm Heaven characters also strike me as somewhat fitting, even ignoring the implied shared universe with Wario there's that same "bright, peppy, anything goes so long as it's silly and sweet" vibe as Mario and similarly low per-character lore to BB games, but most of those characters are uhh... kinda just a normal person, and a lot of the "normal people" characters tend to be the most memorable in a roundabout way I don't think would translate well to the typical Mario sports game, (Yuka, pop singer, the reporter, double date students, even Karate Joe and the chorus kids to an extent) since "normal guy in Mario Tennis/Golf" is something they tried and it didn't work.
Basically, unrelated games and characters with no real lore to call their own, and in most cases no potential future outside of crossovers, become Mario characters, like how Galaga and Dig Dug characters frequently appear in Pac-Man games. Not a shared universe, simply a character coincidentally existing in two universes. The characters with names in lowercase would be given new names, and every character would be redesigned in some form to fit the Mario aesthetic, as these are not true crossovers. These characters would pop-up infrequently, think Ninji or Spike levels of consistency, and probably not have a major presence in platformers.
  1. dog (Duck Hunt)
  2. Pit (Kid Icarus, pre-Brawl)
  3. fish (Balloon Fight)
  4. Bubbles (Clu-Clu Land)
  5. R.O.B. (R.O.B.)
  6. NAV-COM (StarTropics, depicted as R.O.B.'s sidekick)
  7. polar bear (Ice Climber)
  8. Star Man (Pro Wrestling)
  9. The Amazon
  10. devil (Devil World) (would likely be called a "goblin" or "vampire")
  11. MC Adore (Rhythm Heaven)
  12. Kappa DJ
  13. chef (Game & Watch Chef)
  14. Ryota (Wave Race)
  15. Kururin (Kuru Kuru Kururin)
Mallo and Muddy Mole were almost put in but they felt a little visually redundant with Shy Guy and Monty Mole.

I wanted to find a black character but couldn't really find anyone both tonally fitting and visually distinct (I almost put in Mii Matt as a non-Mii character, but he does feel like a context-dependent character to me, where he appears to be Just A Guy if you don't know his Wii Sports legacy, compared to other human characters I did add where you don't need any context to understand their distinguishing traits, there was a 1080 character I almost thought was black but on further inspection appears to just be tanned) - I think MC Adore might be black-coded (albeit blonde - she's a rapper, her alternate version has an afro and the other rappers she sings with are... let's not continue this) so there is that, but that wasn't my intent and well, she's literally pitch-white, heh.

seriously though, have you ever thought about how long it took for mario kart to get a dog character?

You could make the argument that Donkey Kong was like this before Retro Studios took a crack at DKC.

Nevertheless, if these characters did become part of the Mario universe, I can see R.O.B., the Duck Hunt Dog, the Polar Bear, the Game and Watch Chef, MC Adore, Bubbles, and technically Mallo and Muddy Mole. Heck, R.O.B. showed up in Mario Kart, and Bubbles showed up in DK: King of Swing.

As for the rest? They might be too obscure or too out there for the Mario cast. Like, I would've put the titular Balloon Fighter over the fish, and Kid Icarus would fit better in the Zelda or Fire Emblem universe, while StarTropics would be suitable for the Pokemon universe. Mainly because EarthBound is equally as obscure as Mike Jones.

To me, the obscure element was kinda the point, that casual fans would be none the wiser, and it could become fun pub trivia among regular fans, a crossover without the crossover, more just recycling - which isn't exactly how the Pac-Man crossover element was intended but still. I should clarify that I'm not talking about a shared universe - Kid Icarus lore or other characters wouldn't be implemented for instance, just the character design and general concept of NES-era Pit, probably redesigned quite a bit (the sports game characters would especially need some tweaking aesthetically) - IIRC I believe Galaga had a lot of lore but Galaga's appearances in Pac-Man games only use the character designs. Balloon Fighter didn't strike me as a particularly interesting character without the balloons, held only by them (haha no pun intended) and historical context that wouldn't be part of the game, but the fish felt a little more unique in a vacuum and fell into a sort of category I like drawing from for rosters of feirce, ambigiously sapient monsters.

You know what? You bring up very good points. However, unlike Namco's arcade games not named Pac-Man, and even including a couple of Pac-adjacent ones, a fair bit of these characters, or at least their games, still have some sort of following. I'm not sure how likely that was in the 2000's, but still.

What universe do you live in where StarTropics is more beloved than Galaga or Dig Dug

I didn't say these followings were mainstream crowds, just how some of the characters and/or games have their fans. Even I know StarTropics is less beloved than Dig Dug.
See, my problem was with the fact that you mentioned these old Nintendo games having fans "unlike" old Namco arcade stuff, which weirded me out because many of these games were incredibly influential way beyond just Pac-Man. I think I get what you're saying now, but I don't really agree that it'd preclude including these characters in Mario spinoffs, nor that the Namco situation is really all that different in the end

WHAT IF...MARVEL VS. CAPCOM INFINITE WAS PLANNED LATER?
While there is no real proof that MvCI is like that only cuz it was rushed and made before the fusion between Disney and Fox...considering the Marvel games released after that, at least we can be sure that they would have been very different anyway. So we are moving MvCI's development to 2021, two years after the merge, considering that the game might have started its planning face during the process.

While probably Disney would have tried to push the narrative of Thanos instead, because it is generally accepted that the concept of Ultron and Sigma being the big bads of the game was one of the best points of the original release, so the general premise is untouched, the gameplay too that is equally praised, thought maybe with the infinite stones better designed or smth.

Likely the game would be developed in RE engine mostly cuz its the standarized engine of Capcom, but just for the dream we are looking for a approach more similar to the one of the recently published Infinite & Beyond mod, just a bit more professional. With all this, lets move to what is good.

Is also generally accepted (and more or less confirmed) that the game was rushed and that the first batch of DLC is practically cut content. So the roster size will be the same as the complete real game including those DLCs...buuut I'm a bit greedy so Ill bump 4 more, so we end with a round 40 characters roster :p, and of course we will even the roster.

SPIDER-MAN
IRON MAN
CAPTAIN AMERICA
HULK
THOR
CAPTAIN MARVEL
WOLVERINE
STORM
MAGNETO
DORMAMMU
VENOM
GHOST RIDER
BLACK PANTHER
DOCTOR STRANGE
WINTER SOLDIER
SHANG-CHI
MS. MARVEL
ROCKET RACCOON
ULTRON
THANOS

I understand if this roster feels a bit underwhelming, it has only 6 newcomers and there are still some big names out, but we need to start with something. The roster does still have some ties with MCU's plans (Shang-Chi and Ms. Marvel had planned projects already, while Captain Marvel just had her big impact a few years back). I would like to point some details thought.
  • Iron Man would had a design more similar to his suits in Infinity War and Endgame with nanomachines and stuffs, Proton Cannon would also look more like that.
  • Wolverine, Storm and Magneto would have designs more reminiscent to their Krakoan era designs (thought Magneto will retain his red suit).
  • Venom would have a proper Level 3, which one idk, but it would have one :p.
  • Ghost Rider would get a more decent Penance Stare.
  • Black Panther gets a more unique moveset instead of being a pseudo Wolverine.
  • Winter Soldier however, would be hit with the "function" beam, thought is mostly just replace Mag Purge to his own version of Bionic Lancer/Bionic Arm, cuz Spencer will not make the cut. Also instead of the grenade bomb it would get a command grab. The duo super with Captain America is obviously mantained.
  • Shang-Chi is a bit of a "function" of Iron Fist, thought of course there is more than that. It has a lot more of range due his rings and some moves are based on other chinese fighters of Street Fighter like Fei Long and the Lee brothers. His gimmick would be a stance posture that gives him a bigger range of attacks.
  • In a slighty similar matter, Ms. Marvel would be the replacement of Super Skrull, at least when it comes to some of his normas and specials, she is a lot more focused on the big physical zoning attacks mantaing the opponents on the line, she would also get a duo super with Captain Marvel.
  • Spidey would be basically the same, thought it will have a duo super with Venom where instead of the Globin bombs, is a fight between Peter and Brock with the opponent in the middle.
  • Thanos would get his gems back (thought some of his moveset is retained), his gimmick would be that he gets some extra perks of the infinite stone choiced.
RYU
CHUN-LI
RASHID
URIEN
LEON S. KENNEDY
NEMESIS
X
ZERO
TRON BONNE
MONSTER HUNTER
MORRIGAN
JON TALBAIN
STRIDER
ARTHUR
AMATERASU
HAGGAR
DANTE
NERO
SIGMA
JEDAH

The Capcom side isn't amazing either I admit it, thought it got some characters back in exchange of others that I feel they are a bit more unique or at least more fun. Including the newcomers that already where in Infinite we have 9 newcomers, so 15 newcomers in general for all the roster (compare to the 9 newcomers of the original game). Dante, and Nero are based on their most modern looks, while the Monster Hunter is also more based on the World gameplay, thought it would still be the female character in Rathalos armor. For some additional details:
  • Ryu would mantain the same, thought the "Hot Ryu" alt skin would get his beard back (maybe a bit of a tease for SF6 too?)
  • Instead of the casual attire, Chun-Li's first costume would be the battle suit of SFV for...obvious reasons. Also her Level 3 would get more impact.
  • Rashid was probably the most talked character of Street Fighter V to turn into a newcomer, his gimmick would be more or less the same of V, tons of air movement.
  • Urien is more or less based on the Gill speculation, while Gill is cool I personally prefer him, his personality is just a lot more interesing to see her specially with the premise. Also I need to see what can Aegis Reflector do here.
  • Leon is basically a swap of Chris, its just that I'm personally not so fond of him and people DO want Leon so, this might sound weird but I never played RE4, only the first two, so I don't have much idea of how to do his moveset but he might be a bit more physical than Chris? idk. His super might be more like Frank's, with zombies surronding the area and Leon killing them all + the opponent.
  • Jon practically works like how he does in the MvC3 mod.
  • Arthur would get a skin based on Ghost's and Goblins Ressurection.
  • Amaterasu would get her Okami stage that was denied before, complete with the unique artstyle. Also now that Talbain is here, her skin would instead be based in another Capcom canine, Rush.
  • Dante is practically a complete new character, with his moveset now being based on DMC5, he still has a lot of moves thought probably the lost of attacks like Jam Session might feel like a nerf.
  • Nero is also here, and he gets the gimmick of his Devil Breakers. He uses Overture, Punchline, Helter Skelter and Rawhide for his special moves, but the four of them are in one command, so you rotate between them, there is also a move that allows you to instantly break your arm (that also works as a burst) that makes his use easier thought. Gerbera would be used for his Level 1 beam and Tomboy maybe too using the Red Queen EX combo cuz the Level 3 is ofc devil trigger transformation + Buster.

With this said, now probably, maybe, MvCI would do better (?), which means it could get the same treatment of SFV and lasting a long long time. I'm going to straight up copying the format and saying it will get 5 seasons of 6 characters too. Thought I want them to get a bit of a theme.

SEASON 1: RISE OF X
CYCLOPS
NIGHTCRAWLER
PSYLOCKE
VILE
CAPTAIN COMMANDO
DONOVAN

The first season brings back old faces while also welcomes multiple newcomers. I can bet Cyclops being left out again would have raised some eyebrows, so this first batch is to fix that. In general this is a mutant season, don't worry, it wouldn't be the last time we see more of them, but this one in particular leans more to them in the side of Marvel. The Capcom side might feel a bit random but I thought they kinda work and the return of Captain Commando might be praised.

SEASON 2: TALES OF FANTASY
SHUMA-GORATH
SCARLET WITCH
MAGIK
NINA
TESSA
FIREBRAND

The new season is all about magic and I guess this time they feel a bit more connected. Shuma Gorath shouldn't be left behind to the party and Scarlet Witch and Magik are fairly popular characters (And the supposed year 2022 should have Wanda in MoM), Firebrand might feel a bit off for a DLC, but I kinda like him and I think he holds good, while Nina and Tessa are newcomers, both of them having a bit of a niche following. Nina in particular is her design of the first Breath of Fire a bit redesigned, thought elements of all Ninas are there.

SEASON 3: RAGE OF DOOM
DOCTOR DOOM
THE THING
MILES MORALES
PHOENIX WRIGHT
WESKER
M. BISON

I'm thinking this particular chapter might get a story of its own, this time with Doom taking the stage, but other villains like Bison looking behind to try overpower him. Like Rise of X this lineup feels a bit random, mostly cuz is just a big "Doom is back! Let's all Foot Dive!" but it also throws all popular characters.

SEASON 4: CALL OF THE NIGHT
BLADE
MOON KNIGHT
CARNAGE
JURI
HSIEN-KO
FOU-LU

Another more consistent season, at this point Moon Knight is already consolidated as a very popular character so are Carnage and Blade. Juri is also very requested while Hsien-Ko is more like a treat and Fou-Lu a personal pick unexpected character that would bring more flavor to the game.

SEASON 5: SECRET CRISIS
DEADPOOL
STAR-LORD
DAREDEVIL
ASURA
FELICIA
VERGIL

The truth be said, "Secret Crisis" doesn't really mean anything, instead is basically "we throw your popular demands for the final update", probably over all of them the biggest drops are Deadpool and Vergil (who would get a duo super with Dante, and be completely broken too), but the rest shouldn't be left underestimated. In the end we have the wooping amount of 70 characters with 32 being completely new, the numbers are a bit off but this is mostly cuz the base game tries to be as close as possible to the original Infinite so.

And that's all, thanks for reading this nonsense yap.

Would Paccy be still in his Ghostly Adventures design by the time the Switch version releases?
(or making his World/Smash design as an alt)

World / Smash design would be the de facto design and his Ghostly Adventures design would be completely ignored.

Each Smash game gets 10 new characters, but they all have to be clones, and clones cannot return whatsoever until EIH (except Luigi because it's Luigi)
I cannot add any characters who debuted in other Smash games, even as comebacks. Some are Jigglypuff-style clones. All clones except Luigi are permanently omitted following their addition until EIH, this includes Jigglypuff, and clones are not reworked significantly for Ultimate, moreso a direct 64 Luigi to Ultimate Luigi transition.
64:
  1. Fire Mario (Super Mario) (Mario)
  2. Small Luigi (Super Mario) (Luigi)
  3. Donkey Kong Jr. (Donkey Kong) (Donkey Kong)
  4. Timber (Donkey Kong) (Mario) - under license from Rare, this pick and the legal murkiness around him is the domino that leads to Smash somewhat downplaying character comebacks until EIH.
  5. Bunny Link (Zelda) (Link)
  6. Baby Yoshi (Story design) (Yoshi) (Yoshi)
  7. Machoke (Pokemon) (Captain Falcon)
  8. Ryota Hayami (Wave Race) (Fox) (yes he gets a gun)
  9. Star Man (Pro Wrestling) (Captain Falcon)

I decided to make an indie fighter! Surprisingly I’ve never done one of these before. It’s partly inspired by the one FazDude FazDude made recently but it’s got more of a Slap City like approach. I tried to emphasize characters based on how move sets could play out and which ones I personally think could be fun to see in a fighting game. There are indeed quite a few side characters over protagonists. Plus I doubled down on a few series here. I have some ideas for a story this game could have but I’ll just shut up and show the roster:
A while ago I made an indie game roster so now I decided to make a list of bosses for a potential story mode. I’m imagining SK as an enemy because the story mode would take a tournament approach so he would be the final boss’s previous champion manipulated into fighting you, kinda being a meta commentary on him being in so many indie games.
  1. Balrog (Cave Story)
  2. Marie (Skullgirls)
  3. Heikea (Another Crab’s Treasure)
  4. Nosk (Hollow Knight)
  5. Hades (Hades)
  6. Mettaton (Undertale)
  7. Shovel Knight (Shovel Knight)
  8. Original final boss character

Could have a DLC pack that’s, like, Adam West Batman, Kamen Rider Ichigo, the Bionic Woman, El Chapulin Colorado, the Greatest American Hero, the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers (done like the Injustice 2 Ninja Turtles + Captain Commando), etc. Also Barney the Dinosaur as a character would be funny. And Urkel! Surprised he didn’t show up, with all the weird gadgets and transformations he has.

On the current roster, I imagine myself gravitating towards Columbo, the Fonz, Kermit, BA Barracus. MacGyver, ALF, Tom Servo, Will Smith, Mulder & Scully, Xena…maybe would end up with new favorites too, certainly.

No Adam West batman?
He debuted in 1966, and yeah between him and Captain Kirk, it was no contest.

Kamen Rider plz
I'm open to him as DLC, but I chose Columbo over him.

That sounds like a good DLC pack. Others I was considering is a Sitcom pack with shows that were left off (How I Met Your Mother, It's Always Sunny, Community, Frasier, The Good Place, All In The Family)

And one for British shows that missed out (Sherlock, Peaky Blinders, Luther, Killing Eve, Blackadder).
