What new stages would you guys like to see?
Wondaria Remains from Forgotten Land would be really cool, i doubt it will get over Natural Plains, but it would still be cool, regardless.
In the unlikely scenario we get a Genshin Impact rep, i'd like Mondstadt to be a stage, even though i've never played Genshin, when i saw a youtuber going through that town, i really liked the design of the town. Peraphs the stage could take stage in the town's stone walls.

I'm guessing that's why Rob called it a "classic"
I call it a classic, but ancient might be more appropriate. It was so so long ago. 2011. Nearly 14 years ago

I'd be happy with anything from Forgotten Land. Even the basic World 1 grass stage still has a cool city aesthetic. If Kirby gets overlooked again, I'm gonna write a strongly worded letter and then eat it in protest

Yeah, that's me. I'm the Gen Z young adult. My nostalgia console the Wii is going on 20 years now. I'm left waiting for the early-mid 2000s to become In The Vogue for nostalgia baiting instead of the same goddamn 80's pop/rock songs Hollywood has a fetish for.

Also Gen Alpha is the designated Kids These Days for now, but it's now proposed that kids born this year will start Generation Beta, meaning in another decade or so we'll have another set of Kids These Days. I hate the unstoppable passage of time
Can we just go back to calling kids by the decade they grew up?

20s Kids are 5 years old now!

I've thought of some title names for Super Smash Bros. 6 although none of them seem "okay" to me:

Super Smash Bros. Apocalypse
Super Smash Bros. Destruction
Super Smash Bros. Combination
Super Smash Bros. Fusion
Super Smash Bros. Prophecy
Super Smash Bros. Slobberknocker

Honestly, I'd be happy with any stage from newer Nintendo titles. That being said…

Bowser's Castle, Ganon's Castle and Murasame Castle (along with Takamaru)

I'd be genuinely surprised if we don't get a stage from Forgotten Land, i feel like it's too big to ignore.
Probably has a chance since the reason why Planet Robobot didn’t get a stage was the fact that Ultimate in general didn’t introduce much stages before DLC.

Only 4 outside of DLC.

Ultimate being the "let's focus on getting EVERYTHING back" game rather than a usual Smash game does open possibilities for things that felt "left out" to have a second chance in Smash Switch 2.

First-party character-wise, the only major thing missing from the time frame between Smash 4 and Ultimate is probably Elma. Not saying she's the only one but she's the only omission that's truly glaring from the 2014-2018 time frame, a point that retroactively became much stronger due to Xenoblade Chronicles's continued success.

But this opens a LOT of possibility for stages, Assist trophies, items, etc.

List of games I want a new stage from

Super Mario Bros Wonder
Princess Peach Showtime
Mario & Luigi Brothership
Mario Party Jamboree
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
Metroid Dread
&or Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
Kirby and the Forgotten
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
Pikmin 4
Xenoblade 3

Every other franchise I don't care what game the stage is from, or if they aim for a more general catch all, but these feel like the big games I want to see something from.

They already did this in the DLC by adding Min Min and Pyra/Mythra, who were explicitly stated to have been planned for base but pushed off to DLC due to timing issues. I think that Smash 6 might focus more on this and add a lot of content from the Switch's vast library, which makes sense as most Smash games typically base much of their new content on the big titles of the previous console generation.

They weren't planned for base, they were characters that would have gotten selected (or at least would have been up there in the running) if they had existed when they were doing roster selections.

I think one of the good things about the Switch era is that a lot of Wii U games may end up with a second (or even third) chance to be in Smash.

I think Mario 3D World is going to end up with a stage after being passed on in both Smash 4, and Ultimate.
I hope we finally get a New Los Angeles stage from Xenoblade X, sadly, i feeel it's unlikely since i think we'll get Xenoblade 3 New Stage + Gaur Plains or Alrest Cloud Sea back rather than Xenoblade 3 New Stage + Xenoblade X New Stage.

I think Smash 6 is going to be big on the New Stages, Item, AT, Modes...etc departement in general. It would be a great way to diferenciate it from Ultimate. I honestly expeect like 90% stages to be new ones and 10% returning ones. I also wouldn't be surprised if it introduces a new core mechanic, either.

As for newcomers, i think we'll probably get around 11 of them base game, less than Smash 4 (15) but more than Ultimate (6). (Not counting echoes).
As for who i expect as newcomers: Waluigi, Bandana Dee, Tom Nook, Octoling, Squid Sisters, Noah, Meowscarada, Oatchi, Ring Fit Trainee, Shadow the Hedgehog, 3rd party from unrepped IP, those newcomer choices seem about right to me. A BOTW/TOTK rep is also up there.

I hope Smash 6 prioritizes base game newcomers. It would be a good way to differentiate it from Ultimate from the start.
I also hope it prioritizes base game newcomers, but also veteran reworks as well as more of a balance between single-player and multiplayer content.

I'd say is depends if they priorize veterans or newcomers in the next game.
If they're scared of losing sales because of cuts i wouldn't expect more than 5 newcomers base game and they'll probably focus in other content instead to diferenciate it from Ult.

They're not scared of cuts losing sales because they know they'll get several millions sales off of announcing master chief/ jinx/ the witcher/ whatever alone. Hell, the next game could cut 30 characters in exchange for just Waluigi and it'll be enough to get them past the 10 million mark.

You guys severely estimate the amount of people that will stick with ultimate out of spite/desire/even liking it more. Smash 6 will have serious momentum out of the gate regardless of what fan outcry over cuts or whatnot happens. For an example on nintendo's own system: pokemon. As long as they add some kind of hook and a few wanted guests, they'll break through whatever resistance forms guaranteed.

Let's also not forget the mandatory retro rep/'surprise' fighter (also, Oatchi and Ring Fit Trainee are the 2 predictions I disagree with, I think it's far more likely that we'll get a new Nintendo IP fighter in Ayumi Tachibana and one of the main characters from Astral Chain instead of these 2)

How come? I could see it if maybe you think Ring Fit is better for nonplayable material or something, but I find it hard to argue earnestly against them and in favor of series like these two when its success pretty much leaves FDC or Astral Chain in the dust.

Unlike a series like Animal Crossing in Brawl, Ring Fit demonstrates a lot of explicit fighter potential too involving RPG spells and combat. So being far and away the most successful new Switch IP and lending itself to a fighting game moveset effortlessly, it really seems like a slam dunk to me.

Yeah. I think that the demand for an "Ultimate Deluxe" is being overestimated in the Smash fandom. And it isn't likely either.

Ultimate Deluxe would be too boring and by the time that the actual Smash 6 releases, it will be more then 10 years since the last game.

Also the fact that Switch 2 is backwards compatible so it will be pointless.
Not to mention, an Ultimate Deluxe would not be in the same situation as Mario Kart 8, which was made for different reasons. Many fans don't seem to realize that.

I've been wanting a Distortion World stage since brawl. It could be a big stage that messes with gravity, warping projectile trajectories. It should have the upside down waterfall somewhere.

Ultimate had no retro rep base game, though, i think a retro rep is not a for sure thing anymore like it was pre-Ult.
I like Astral Chain, but i don't see why Nintendo would pick it over Ring Fit, a new IP that sold like crazy, like Ring Fit sold over 15 million copies, more likely scenario is that we get both or only Ring Fit.
I could see Ayumi Tatchibana (or Emio), as the series had a remake and a new entry recently so the series is active right now. I am not sure why you disagree with Oatchi, though, Pikmin 4 is the best selling Pikmin game and Oatchi is pretty popular and distinct from other potential Pikmin reps, he seems like a fitting smash choice.

Well peraphs "scared" was the wrong term, more like hestiant to. I've seen some people even think they'll got cut crazy and have this huge roster revamp and and i just highly doubt it.
I think if there's cuts tthey will be a few characters that might be lower priorty from Smash 4 like Corri and Ultimate like Incineroar or Piranha Plant and even then kept to a minimum as possible.
I've seen people say they'll cut characters like Ike, Lucario, Mewtwo, Falco...and that just think they'll definitely try to avoid to cut any 64, Melee and Brawl veteran if possible, if i see any of those getting cut is Dr. Mario, Young Link, Pichu and Roy....and ZSS, Wolf and Lucas in the absolute worst case scenario, yes, i'm even sure they'll try to get Snake back, which i've seen in some people's chopping blocks.
I just don't think they'll have 20+ cuts like some people are saying, like at most the cut list will be something like: Piranha Plant, Incineroar, Corrin, Young Link, Pichu, Roy and maaaaaaybe one 3rd party like Sepiroth, not anything crazy like cuting established veterans like Falco, Sheik, Ike, Lucario, cutting 20+ chracters and stuff like i've seen some people predicting.

Also yes, the game will sell well, but they will defintiely lose sales if they go overboard with bizarre cuts or roster choices, i just think Ninttendo will be more conservative with cuts.

I think the Pokemon situation is a good example of a game surviving considerable cuts for the first time, but Pokemon also had a quality issue going on, Arceus had only like 170 Pokemon and was very well recived, i think most of the uproar of SWSH would've calmed down if the game was...higher quality, not hate on the game or people who enjoy it.

It will also cost 70 dollars as opposed to Ultimate's 60. I don't think people would want to pay more for a game they already have and can play through backwards compatibility.

That does not stop any port from happening. Ever. It's just as wrong as assuming Ultimate Deluxe would be so deluxe that it has 2x the roster size of base Ultimate and all the modes from previous Smashes.

Yeah, Ultimate Deluxe for the Switch 2 (which is backwards compatible) would be pointless…but I do acknowledge that wouldn't stop it from happening. A lot of previous-gen games have been ported to current-gen consoles, which is partially why MK8 Deluxe happened, among many other reasons.

…Also, there's The Last of Us…

Or we just don't care and want more Ultimate content.

It never was a real thing. Just a fan name for a particular type of newcomer.

I will if it gets new Fighters.

We just need 18 more...
