Hmmmmm...comparing a character from a classic (Now dead) Fighting game franchise who uses claws, acrobatics, balls, spins, and her friends to fight to a small little puffball wearing a rag on his head who uses only a spear to fight....from two completely different franchises and companies...makes sense to me. Now please stop, you don't me sharpening MY Spear...and by spear I mean Anti-Tank Rifle.

The biggest problem I have with "Bandanna" Waddle Dee is that he's a derivative design of a generic enemy; It would be like getting Boshi or Yoshi Kid in smash instead of the original Yoshi. Plus IMO there's too many Nintendo characters from their own franchises that should get in smash before a character like Waddle Dee does.

It is a hard one to say since we don't know if we are gonna get another Kirby character at all or not. That is the main thing that keeps Bandana Dee of people's rosters.
If there was another Kirby character, then Waddle Dee is very likely.

The way I see it, if there was to be a newcomer for Kirby, it would be Bandana Waddle Dee.


.....However, the concept of Kirby, being Sakurai's creation and already having its trio of all-stars, getting another character is a rather hard pill to swallow.
It depends on whether or not the concept of a spear-based fighter outweighs the concept of "overrepresenting" his own franchise.

Oh yes, using a whip, transforming into a car, weight, UFO, Tank, Fire truck, train, ball, parachute, etc. chucking projectiles, going into the background, travelling through zippers and more is generic. In short....Morphers/Transformers -> Extended range

Now I'm thinking that Bandanna Dee will be similar to Marth in a sense in that he only uses a spear. And has a counter attack.

Is a hamster generic and similar to a sword in smash? No.
Is a long tongue that can be swung around and used as rope generic and similar to a sword in smash? No.

Gooey & Rick automatically win.

Also Masked Dedede.
Is an electricity powered Hammer that can do a long 5 second fiery spin attack and fire rockets generic in Smash? No.

uses a parachute already. , , AND use tanks already. uses an whip (electrical, I'll admit, but still). Villager should have Gulliver's UFO instead (cause Balloon Fighter is awesome.)

I suppose with Mario having five characters, Kirby could have another character, but the problem is is that there's not really a compelling choice left for that series. We already have the big three, everyone else is a bit of a one-off or a generic goon.

The only game where Meta Knight was a villain was Revenge of Meta Knight in Super Star. But...why?

It's cool and all, but still. What's he trying to get revenge on?
Kirby for beating him in Kirby's Adventure/Nightmare in Dreamland? I always assumed he was just testing Kirby in that game to help him finish his quest in a way.

I assume Meta Knight was going after King Dedede; the "lazy lifestyle" he talks about likely stems from the King himself, so Meta Knight would have wanted to change that. King Dedede can also be a bit selfish and greedy, so that doesn't help his image either.

Now the reason Kirby would want to stop him is because he's flying a giant battleship throughout Dreamland in an attempt to take it by force, which would disrupt the peace. I don't think Meta Knight even wanted to get Kirby involved; every time Kirby boarded the ship he had his crew blast him off, yet he didn't give chase and continued towards his destination. It was only after Kirby completely destroyed his ship and forced his crew to evacuate that Meta Knight actually wanted a confrontation, but who can blame him?

Anyway, Meta Knight appears to hold no grudge towards Kirby, so he must have realized that what he did wasn't the best way to resolve the troubles of Dreamlands. In recent games, he acts more as a defender.

He may not be as important as Bandanna Dee, but the uniqueness of his yarn moves may have Sakurai choose him over possible Kirby candidates.

While searching for this human waddle Dee I managed to find a image of a naked anime girl wearing only red shoes with a skin tone that looked pink sitting on the Warp Star So apparently it is supposed to be kirby. So that's a thing. It didn't actually have any unmentionable parts so I guess it is accurate to Kirby.
