I thought that was the general concensus...?

Smashboards members tend to be elitists. We don't recognize popular characters from other communities. Sorry.
Yeah, I don't partake in the insulting of the other forums.
Except IGN. There are a lot of idiots on IGN.

I don't actually mean to be as harsh as the GIF seems, but that's not true. (I just love this GIF and wanted to use it.)
Aaaand saved.

Come on. Midna is not as popular as she used to be. She dwindled in importance and popularity as the years went by. Everyone knows that.
She's still one of the more popular Zelda characters.

Roy was added because of the PHIRE. Not necessarily just because he was new.

One time characters like Midna lack importance and overall longevity. Longevity in the idea that they will have any sort of impact.

I mean think about it. Zant was the one shot villain in TP. Say he was added. Now we have Ghirahim. Would he replace Zant? If so, then why add Zant in the first place? There will probably be another one shot in the future, so why add Ghirahim? So on and so forth.

One shot villains in series with a substantial amount of representation are unnecessary and overall probably not likely.

After all those support threads you made, my reaction to just another one is something like this:
No no no no no you don't understand.

This is one of my "real" threads.
One of my main threads of characters that have somewhat of a chance and I legitimately think would be really cool and fun characters that would work in Smash.

That doesn't really confirm they're all reincarnations. Descendants could just mean future generations, not neccesarily reincarnations.
No, it also said something about that they are reincarnations, such as in Wind Waker, theKing of Red Lions says that Toon Link is not a descendant of the Hero of Time.
But Hyrule Historia says he is the "next Link."

Shoo-in. It's shoo-in.

No character is a SHOO-IN. I am literally saying popularity. Midna has little to no popularity left. How is that so hard to comprehend?
Um, I am not a Midna supporter. So quit it with the attitude girlfriend. Secondly, shoe-in is also a viable statement. I do not need to conform to your preferences.

Being serious now, after all those borderline nonsensical threads you've created, it's hard to take your threads seriously.

No, it's Shoe in

It dirived from an old door to door tactic by sellers where they literally but their shoe in the door to prevent the person from just closing it

Actually I just looked it up

Both are technically correct but came from different things

Shoo in came from racetrack horses and shoe in came from door to door salesman

They mean the same thing though

This pretty much, it's the same thing as gray and grey, basically. I use shoe-in because I prefer salesmen over horses, if that wasn't obvious. :troll:

Just looked at some quotes from Zelda games, seems some Links are blood relatives, others are not. The quotes weren't very clear as to whether they are reincarnations but they seem to have been chosen by the godesses and posses the spirit of the hero. Whether the possess the spirit at birth or earn it later is unclear.
There seem to be two problems with the theory, one has been said before which is the split timelines. The other one is that TP Link co-exists with the ghost of OoT Link.

So, does it mean Happy Mask Salesman is a shoe-in, while Epona is a shoo-in?

My, my... Look's like the Nintendo 64 Zelda games are getting more representation this time with Skull Kid being an AT and whatnot.

So, that means... Tingle for Smash 4!

Um, what source is needed?
HIS GAME DIDN'T EVEN COME OUT YET WHY DO YOU ARGUE?
I think what Saturn means is that that wasn't exactly the entire reason for his inclusion. The entire reason for Smash Bros is to make a crossover of Nintendo stars, and therefore, advertises said characters and games.

So indirectly, each character does get attention to their game. But that isn't necessarily the reason as to why he was added.

Roy was in no way a Nintendo star when Melee came out, since, again, that's the game he originated in.
It's literally like adding Wonder Red in to promote a brand new game, only worse because Wonderful 101 is actually out.

You've got to factor in the Ocarina bias smash has. Melee's character models were taking from it, which is fair enough but Sheik continued to be used in Brawl despite her not turning up in Twilight or many other Zelda games for that matter. Considering we've already got an Ocarina stage on the 3DS no less it's something which looks like it will continue. Sure Twilight got some love in Brawl such as the bridge of Eldin and character models but nothing like what Ocarina got in Melee. With the new, hybrid look of the zelda characters and the release of Skyward since Brawl I can't see Midna happening.

I agree that Roy is not an All Star. But I also think the term "All-Star" is subjective, considering we got Ike and Lucario under the same conditions.

I honestly feel like it isn't really an All-Stars game, but just a character crossover game. There are quite a few characters I would never deem an all star when they were initially added.

But yes. I agree that he isn't an all star, but that doesn't change the fact that that isn't why Sakurai added him.

Or Impa :troll:

It isn't actually, but that's beside the point.

Edit: Golden is the only guy here I know of that really wants Doc back.

Ocarina and MM got so much love in Melee because they were the latest Zelda games at the time. Sheik was meant to be in TP, so does her inclusion in Brawl were she uses her TP design really count as Ocarina love. Also in Brawl there were barely any Ocarina trophies, of which most if not all were of items.

I don't remember any sparkly vampires on the game... Was that through a cheat code or something? :troll:

Okay, I'm joking. Also, the models of Link and Zelda this time are still from Twilight Princess. They just have more saturated colors that makes them look more like Skyward Sword's. The designs are still the Twilight Princess ones.

Sheik was meant to return in Twilight Princess. Her Brawl model was based on concept art made during the development of that game.
