You guys said it would be ridiculous but I'm believing WF is considering releasing the Switch version of Shantae 1 close to 2022 and by the time it's April, it'll be 5 months before September that will be the anniversary of when it was announced and not once yet had we been updated. What is really going on?

Technically, the pre-orders launched on September, the release itself was announced on July: https://www.siliconera.com/shantae-switch-port-and-game-boy-color-rerelease-announced/

Good point nonetheless though.

Like I've said before, I can see Arthur Morgan getting into Smash. Sakurai is capable of finding a moveset for even a remote control chair at this point.

My point of contention is still on the actually credibility of this leaker.

My problem is Arthur is overall boring and like no wants him in Smash overall

I'm pretty sure this is someone having fun being lucky they guessed right. I predicted we were gonna get Enderman in Smash and Enderman is in Smash. Ok guys, next character is going to be Francis from Left 4 Dead. See my point?

I don't doubt that, but RDR never had any iota of Nintendo involvement, so it'd be weird for him to get in here without his game even getting a cloud release.

The closest we got was that live performance we got at the Game Awards in 2018.

This. There was this one doofus on Twitter (cough*LeakyPandy*cough) who guessed Byleth right, then most people latched on him when they saw one of his guesses for the first character of Pass 2 being Crash. Obviously, that didn't last long.

So whenever WF develops another Shantae game, what does everyone hope they change up this time around?

Another day, another sale...😴

There was a problem fetching the tweet

The visual presentation. HGH style is nice, but it feels like they're going to have to do an overhaul when they (inevitably) jump on the next Nintendo/PS/Xbox console.

- Having someone else as the main antagonist instead of Risky which they have done twice in Pirate's Curse and Seven Sirens. I love Risky, but I don't want to see her take the spotlight as the main villain in every game. That can go for almost any main recurring antagonist in any video game franchise in my opinion. I want to see a different villain sometimes.

- I want to see all the Barons team up together against Shantae at some point since so many rivaling individuals of Shantae have the last name Baron for some reason. Bozon has a reason for giving the last name Baron to a lot of these characters who really haven't all interacted with each other yet. There has to be a story behind the Baron name.

- I want to see the Jins appear again canon wise and physically in the games since they were planned to have been in the PS1 prototype for the original Shantae as the bad guys. If Shantae ever ends, they would make for a great grand finale antagonist cast for the last game.

- Who is Shantae's mother and when are we going to see her? At the end of each title, we get a tiny bit more info on her, but it seems like we'll never get to the game where Shantae meets her mother. Shantae meeting her mother again has been foreshadowed since Risky's Revenge. So I think they're saving the reveal of Shantae's mother for a big game probably the best game in the series even potentially grander than Pirate's Curse or Seven Sirens. Maybe even the last game in the series if Bozon plans to end Shantae at some point.

"Baron" isn't a family name. It's a title of social status like "Lord" or "Shogun".

And the only Barons that have any relation to each other are Ammo and Armor, being brothers. Similarly, Siren is a term that defines one as a long-lived life-draining creature, even if you barely resemble or qualify as an aquatic creature.

Yeah, that's another thing I'm hoping for in future games, that the Sirens won't just be forgotten. The speedrun photo gives me hope...

Honestly, I'd like it if they went back to the level-based format seen in both Pirate's Curse and Half-Genie Hero; I kind of preferred that to the open-world format of Risky's Revenge and Seven Sirens.

Couldn't say. All I heard of at the moment is rumblings about NSO getting a major update next month. :drshrug:
God I hope they bring N64 games to NSO at some point, even though Game Boy probably has a higher chance of being next. I feel like that's the only way we'll get Banjo-Kazooie back on a Nintendo platform.

N64 games coming to NSO may depend on what happens next month. The Super Mario collection is getting delisted at the end of this month. Some suspect that could be because they are going to release N64 on NSO and they didn't want to be selling Mario 64 seperately when you could get if free.

However, Zelda could be another thing holding N64 back. Even tho this month was the 35th anniversary for Zelda, the big N didn't do much with it, most likely because they were still celebrating Mario's 35th. So next month, once Mario steps out of the spotlight, they might start a year of Zelda similar to what Mario just had. And in that year they could resell Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.

Now if they release the original versions for sale that could push back N64 on NSO again. But if they sell an HD version of the 3DS remakes, then I could see it going either way. It could hold back N64 because they could consider them the same games, but they could also say that the HD'd 3DS games are different enough to justify them being premium while the originals are free.

Hopefully if Nintendo is planning a big 35th celebration for Zelda, they will tell us early into April so we don't have to stew on it too long

It's on the Wii U Shop now I've heard a few months ago.

Which makes little sense tbh.

Maybe there exists a world where Masahiro Sakurai is able to fulfill the wishes of every Smash fan out there and make it the wildest and largest video game crossover of all time. Unfortunately, we don't live in that world. In this world, not every wish can be fulfilled. It can't be done. I send my condolences to the Ryu Hayabusa for Smash movement. There is always the future to look forward to.

Eh, I'll be alright. I always knew deep down that his chances weren't 100%, despite thinking they were a lot higher than most characters. Still though, feeling a little bit foolish now after leaving that comment on here last week about people on here underestimating Ryu's chances too much... oh well.

Just another day for Smash Speculation. It is always a bitter time for characters the fanbases argue over who's in or not.

To be fair, even if Hayabusa WAS one of the final two (for now), I'm pretty sure that guy wouldn't actually be able to say anything for or against him being in Smash due to NDAs.
