It should also be mentioned Nintendo plans to release demos of NES/SNES games iirc, so that reduces masterpieces' interest even more.

So, earlier I brought up the lack of real costumes, but only had a few ideas. Well, now, I got a BIG list o' costume ideas that i'd like to see added in a port for some extra content.

I'd argue Seliph would be a better alt character for Marth than Sigurd would. Seliph basically has Marth's build down pat, while Sigurd is basically known for being a mounted unit, so having him as a footsoldier in Smash seems kind of weird.

To be fair, Sigurd could dismount. Dismount is bull**** in his game and Seliph IS a better choice though

I know he can dismount, but when people think of Sigurd they don't think of dismounted Sigurd.
But yeah, Seliph IMO.

If they really wanted to add a more unique Lord, why not add Sigurd as a proper mounted unit fighting from horseback? I'm completely serious btw. It'd be quite unorthodox, but I think it could work, though it'd take a LOT of work getting it right.

I feel like Steven would be a good candidate. He's Nintendo-ish, has the right fighting style and would make sense.

Nintendo sent emails to about 20 people who are veteran Club Nintendo users (who are now My Nintendo users) which have the switch registered on their account.
The emails contained the code for an alpha version of Super Smash Bros. for Switch.
The guidelines are to not post or say anything about the game on social media. It's a timed demo basically it only works for a certain amount of time. 5 days in this case.
From what I've played so far nothing new is there, besides the support for individual joycons.

It's more than some people give, I'll give you that. If at all possible, could you take a video of the game in motion while moving the Switch? That way it helps prove validity a bit more.

It's an idea I've had for a while, even started making a moveset for him, but I haven't really finished it or really bothered to go back to it for a while because it felt like a pretty outlandish idea. I'd love to see them tackle something like that even if it's not Sigurd in particular, but the odds are likely pretty low unfortunately.
Ah kk. I guess he'd sort of fit. That'd really depend on whether or not the SSF2 devs are fans of SU, plus they've got plenty to work on already so I doubt they'll be adding on to it for the time being. I'd wager they have queue of characters they have in mind already.
M&S is just trying to give you some advice given that you're new. Off topic posts, double posts, spoilers/leaks that aren't inside spoiler tags are against forum rules. Just a heads up in case you don't want to receive warnings/bans when mods eventually show up to check in on things.

They never really strike me as "get in on this alpha/beta" kind of company. At most, veteran members get early access to specially designed demos. This is very out of character for them if this is real.
Edit: For a highly secretive company that has had issues with leaks in the past with dire consequences of leaks, this just seems kinda braindead for them to do, to trust 20 randoms with Alpha footage that absolutely just got leaked. Nintendo is highly secretive even among the already secretive gaming industry, and Namco has already had the infamous ESRB leak that must have been a nightmare for them.
I call bogus on the basis of the story. Perhaps if you showed a more substantial video of its menus, character select, and an actual battle with all buttons being pressed and complex movements being executed, this could be more believable.
Edit Again; Perhaps a video containing trademarks that make reference to the Nintendo Switch? Or better yet, the Super Smash Bros. title showing up on the home menu of the Switch? Perhaps even you using the Switch home button during play of this alpha?

Its just a generally suggestion. Steven can work if he's the only character representing his series. Any character after would literally turn Smash into his show.

Then I'd say it's likely a fake. The video and pictures only show off stuff already in the Wii U game and the video can easily be explained as someone pretending to direct Mario with a de-synced joy-con and a Youtube video.

Not convincing at all since it doesn't follow Smash 4's naming scheme (should be Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch)

It's an image, I wanted a video. With said footage showing you going from gameplay to the menu and back via the home button on the controller. WITH verification that the controller in use is in sync. That's just the Smash Wii U image with the "For Wii U" stripped off it. They wouldn't just copy past the Wii U boxart. They would make new boxart.
