I am 100% interested in more Street Fighter and Final Fantasy tracks. OWA, Guile's Theme, The Man With the Machine Gun, Vega(Claw if international, Balrog if JPN.) Theme, Battle on the Big Bridge, and I could go on.
I wouldn't want a Mario Paint-esque feature in the game. I think My Music is fine the way it is.
I am still interested in the Smash Museum (Expanded Vault similar to the Namco Museum on PS1) idea I had mentioned earlier. I already mention talking to NPC's from the respected franchises, feeling like you're actually in the universe you are visiting. I also mentioned about a "Get on with it " option that avoids the museum stuff entirely. think it would also be a cool place for Smash players to cool off. I still think it would be a good idea as long as it is properly executed.
As for "Smash Museum", I'd like ideas on how you guys would imagine a Museum "hall" were such an unlikely idea were to happen? I'd like to know how you would handle the halls handling the history, masterpieces, costume & accessories shop, model viewing, franchise trophy displays, and NPC's you can talk to.
I was just sticking to FFVII music since we got Cloud and Midgar, but if we're talking about the FF series as a whole then I agree so much with Man With the Machine Gun. The story isn't the best, and the junction system is broken, but VIII is still my favorite.
(Can that get a remake too Squeenix? Probably not...)
If we could get music from across the series, then from 8 I'd take Force Your Way, The Landing, The Extreme, Don't Be Afraid, Premonition, Eyes on Me and of course Liberi Fatali.
Still haven't finished 9 or 10 and it's been ages since I was last playing through them, but the pieces I remember are the Seymour boss music and the regular battle themes for both. I did end up spoiling myself by listening to the final boss theme for 9 and that piece is quite good as well.
The basic battle theme from each entry would probably be a good place to start if they did expand.
As for the Smash Museum, I think that could be a pretty neat idea. I had a sort of similar idea but it was actually converting the trophy shop into a shopping area with multiple shops that you walk around in with your Mii.
Each shop would sell different things and be run by different Nintendo characters.
- You could buy CDs from Barbara the Bat.
- Pauline would run a capsule machine like the old Melee trophy lottery.
- Costumes and colors if we ever got more would be in a shop run by characters from Style Savvy.
- Custom moves could be outright purchased from Anna so you don't have to struggle with receiving them at random.
- Reese from Animal Crossing would run a Re-Tail themed shop where she would buy back any duplicate trophies you might have.
-And least likely of all, I'd like a hall lined with busts and portraits of Sakurai, Iwata, Miyamoto and other developers with short bios on their work.
Going to your suggestions, I guess masterpieces could be handled by some retro characters that may not otherwise be viable for playable fighters. Either that or have each series have a character to be in charge of all masterpieces for that series.
Or maybe even go the SEGA route like their classics on Steam. The way they did it was have the actual menu be a fully modeled room with the actual consoles and a shelf with the game cartridges.
Blathers would be good for handling trophy displays.
A model viewer for the characters isn't something I'd actually thought of since we already have trophies, but I suppose that'd be neat to have as well.
