You know what maybe, they should port everything but Melee if GameCube games ever become available.

Why?

From a business perspective I think people would be way more interesting in 'Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door and or Billy Hatcher (If Sega is a bro) than some busted old Smash Bros that doesn't have Sonic.

Now do I think Smash Bros Melee is busted?

No, It an excellent entry as they all are.

Will the large sum of the Nintendo playing community think that and buy other stuff?

You see, everyone keeps asking for peoples top-5 characters for smash, but there is a much more important question:
The top-5 SONGS that should be in smash.

No. Sometimes people can like things they weren't specifically asking for. that's why hate against surprise or joke characters is stupid

The messed up thing about getting the 'expected' is a large mass of people are gonna go 'that's it?'

So the joke characters make way to break that up a little bit by giving you something playful and fun.

The only thing to me that doesn't ever come as a surprise each game is what Pokémon they go with.

Because Pokémon Company telegraphs who they're pushing really hard with movies and the anime.

Sometimes in the games as well, though it feels like this time especially. As there's no one in gen 7 with his typing while the other two starters have equivalents who are 'better' in a way.

It's a fan made mod. It's merely there to be an option for a small amount of people who will want it. The only reason PM kicked off was because Brawl was a piss poor competitive game. It's not the case here.

Realistically, you can't rep Castlevania without Simon (or Alucard, but Sakurai ultimately went for Simon). I think the assumption was always that if anyone was getting in, it would have to be him as the OG rep - Richter was never on the table, and probably still wouldn't be if not for the Echo Fighter push.

I find it poetic and I like that. Simon was always such a boring choice for me so I'm glad I was surprised with a better version of him.

Yeah even if Sakurai quits for some reason there's no way in hell Nintendo isn't gonna continue development of more Smash games with a new developer

I didn't like him at first since my first instinct to 'recover' is to use up special, but after using side + a sideways air dodge, I'm able to get back to the ledge more often. I've discovered that if you're patient (and don't rush people down since he doesn't have the speed to rush), he has insane kill potential. I KO'd Kirby and Dark Pitt while practicing at around 58% from the edge (not exactly at it; a little before actually).

If you actually get good with him (especially with his monstrous Revenge ability) he can be really fun to use lol. At least against friends who haven't played as much and don't realize he's such a beast monster.

People are putting Ultimate on too high a pedestal. There's always room for improvement, no matter how good the game.

Like he's easier to outpace and outspace then Brawl Ganon but the moment you make a wrong move this mans has 3 Revenges stacked and KOs you at 40 from the edge with his side b

I know! It's hilarious! I've gotten better at timing his clothesline, too. Not to mention the fact the you clothesline someone is absolutely hilarious. I absolutely cannot wait to get his Amiibo and train him up; he'll be killing people at 12% lol.

Not related to Smash but, what do you guys like in a character? I'm a game design student and I'm currently studying on character design. If possible, can you guys give me some examples too? Thanks in advance.

A good design should catch your eye and tell you most if not everything about a character from one glance.

Litten, in my opinion, is one of the best designed Pokemon ever.

It's simple, yet effective. You can immediately tell what it is and what it's about, a grumpy cat imbued with the power of flame. Admittedly it could be kinda hard to tell it's fire type at first, but if you're deep into Pokemon you can tell.

Inklings are another example.

The big, obvious tentacles should at least tell you they aren't human. That expression conveys childish confidence and a sense of style. Her weapon is a water gun filled with an orange substance, and she's carrying more in a tank on her back, that should tell you there's something important about this orange stuff.

I'm a character designer, so this is my passion. I hope I could help!

An interesting silhouette is one for less realistic characters.

Like, when you see the general shape of like, Mario or Sonic, you can immediately tell who that character is based on their shape e.g. Mario's hat, Sonic's spines, etc. since they're so striking and recognizable at a glance. But with more realistic characters, or less striking characters, you can also focus on their costume design or weapon design, like how even though BotW Link's design is a tad bit more plain and less striking then regular Link, he makes up for it with the hairstyle, the design of his tunic, the quiver and stuff on his back looking so good and interesting. And while Shulk looks like a generic anime boy, his Monado sets him apart and gives him something interesting to look at.

However, whenever I see characters who have both, I actually kinda shy away from it. They just look so... busy I guess. There's so much going on with it. Like Rex from Xenoblade 2 tries to do both, but ends up weak on both aspects since they tried to mix the whole "striking design and silhouette" thing alongside with a very busy and interesting character design and it just doesn't work out. Same with Sora from Kingdom Hearts too IMO but to a lesser extent.

Note that I'm not a character designer or anything this is just my perspective as a complete outsider lol

Personality stands out the most to me.

If I can look at someone and go "hot damn I know what this bro/gurl is about!" Then I'd call that successful

Examples

- The bravado the strength the muscles convey along with the sick belt.

- Sexy, confident, comfortable with her femininity, black makes her mysterious, but the blue conveys 'magic'

- Crazy:the popped out eye,

Greedy or wealthy: The use of gold.

Menacing: Size and is a precieved to be dangerous animal to begin with.
