lol no. Do that if you want a very bad/slow momentum cancel.

I don't know why anyone is discussing momentum canceling. It's not a hard tech to learn. I picked it up the first try.

Lain, you would lose to deku every time in melee. You would probably even lose to me :p. But yeah, I should lose to anyone who plays melee very seriously.

I don't believe that brawl takes months to be a high level player if you are as good as deku at melee. I only have 30 hours of brawl game play experience. That's adding up tournament matches, friendlies, and playing by myself. I don't even own brawl.

I'm probably not going to beat M2k, lain, anther, or judge anytime soon. But I'm pretty confident that I have a decent shot at taking renegade, NoJ, Y.B.M, Overswarm, and similar level players out of a tournament. The only reason I lose is because I have virtually no match up experience. And 95% of brawl skill is just knowing match ups.

When I played Ripple, that was the first time I've ever played against DK. That includes tournaments, friendlies, or even the computer.

and momentum canceling is just using an attack to cancel your momentum because you have no stun so you can instantly throw out an attack. i thought people learned this a month into the game. it's obviously more useful when you use a move that has natural momentum inducing effects, such as link's dair

at least, that's what i figure from watching 1/3rd of a match of brawl

di > use fastest aerial > fast fall > resume di > second jump is the proper maximum cancel for horizontal momentum canceling.

vertically, you will want to use a move with inherent canceling and not jump, obviously.

Note that using Dair makes you fast fall so this is really easy to do.

edit: I'm not sure what this conversation/argument is about... Melee is obviously harder and takes more time to learn. Lol.

I may not be going because I'm poor games and have to study for exams. Nicole will probably want to ride with you guys, though.

also I just noticed that the arcade at my work has time crisis 3 in it. looooooooool

also lain you would get super owned by deku because stl is sooooooooooooo legit at m3l33.

Which is why Im dropping brawl completely and 100% m3l33 plaier.

Cause Im ****ing legit

Car has room for 8 people including driver. If we bring a set up, maybe 5 or 6 passengers. We can check to see if we can all fit this tuesday. We = Legan, Alt, MMM, Ironboots, JoWii, Future, and if someone else wants to go or a set up.

well I decided not to go at all b/c I started watching random ally vs m2k vids LOL I dont know why brawl is so terrible.

but yeah this morning was crazy I must have looked at the clock like 10 times and not realised it was an hour later than I thought until I was about to leave wtf

also the chair Im sitting on just broke :(

I've known this chair since I was like 0 years old.

Melee the other night was too good. So much better than that Barwl garbage. Binyan, lemme come over to Mudd today and play some more.
