Rofl. I've played about 120 XBox Live matches now, and only one of them was against a V-13.
I've ran into so many V-13s on PSN already. Luckily I know how to deal with them.

I've only faced around 2...

The first one was pretty much looked like they just started, and the second one knew how to move around and use those flying swords of doom to make some damaging combos.

Still, I beat whoever that was. They were practically screwed when I got up and close.

^All boards have those stupid threads!

Lol KROE, this game came out only like 2 months ago on console and around a year for arcade. You can catch up, with the easy curve and all. !

They were when the game first started, but people have learned how to deal with her, and it has mostly died down. She was pretty stupid before anyone knew what to do lol.

Of course, you can't read my post (your sig says so), so it doesn't matter.
Look at the dust loop boards. The majority of the community still complains about the top characters, specifically Arakune, and V-13.

The funny thing is; The good players never *****ed.

BB's community is exactly like Brawls; Comprised mostly of whiny scrubs. It's very depressing.

Almost every community is like that, but I do see what you mean. I also noticed a lot of Brawl players are trying out BB.
People are complaining about V-13 left and right. Don't they realize that there will be updates to balance out the roster?

thats not the issue at hand, the issue is people are complaining when there is no need to complain at all. V-13 is beatable on every level play, maybe only on the scrub level of play is she "broken". IMO Arakune is far worse to deal with then V-13.....he can curse on block which i think is retarted, if he gets you in the corner cursed, say good night. he controls the air very well, which is vital in BB IMO. I dont think V-13 is that broken. people just need to learn how to block.....thats all.

Since ArcSys hasn't said anything about balance patches, I don't think there will be, nor is there a need for one. BB players should simply wait for a sequel. Any balancing should be done during production of the second game, if there is one.

I wish I've faced more Arakunes. I still have problems with them whenever I face them.
I have to rely on vids to understand how to face Arakune with Rachel.

When I meant by update, I didn't mean patches. I just used the term update since it was vague enough for whatever the next iteration for BB is (whether it's BB2 or some #Reload upgrade)

I don't think they complain about her in that way. They complain because she has no bad matchups as well as making every character fight in a very tedious way to get in.

The matchup is definitely beatable just like SF4 Sagat, O. Sagat, 3s Chun but it is definitely uphill.

What I like about V-13 though is it takes a competent user to show how annoying it is to play against whereas Sagat is just plain annoying at any levels.

@Ken
Thing about V-13 is not that people need to learn to block, its that they will pretty much be blocking 90% of the match and that last 10% is the get in and combo part. I play a V-13 regularly and although she is beatable, I still think its a lot of work.

Yeah and Arakune curse on block is ridiculous.

There had better be. This game is too good to die out, and it is the spiritual sucessor to GG. It can't die out. Too good.

Guilty Gear was not popular enough in america.. people just see it and move on like they don't care. reason being BB is better cuz it' simpler and it's more anime looking than gg was
i think the simpler part is the true reason. no need to worry about well timed FRCs etc.

I actually think the speed of GG hurt it, not because of the technicality. Let me explain.

I went through, looking at the sprites one day of the charecters, and noticed stunning detail. Now, when I play GG, I get annoyed that if I'm not potekmen or A.B.A. I don't get all of the nuances that GG put so much work to move in. Before you sell the gameplay of something, you have to sell the visual premise. This goes with anything. Would you buy a food with a disgusting visual package? BB fixed this problem by making the sprites bigger, and slowing down the gameplay just a little bit, so that people could get the full effect of all the sprite work that was done. My friend sayed that despite GGs amazing gameplay, it just didn't intrest him for some reason. He loves BB, and enjoys it incredibly.

At least, that's how I see it.

GG vs. BB its more of a debate on whether you like visual presentation or what you can potentially do during gameplay.

BB is pretty to down-right gorgeous when you look at it in HD. Since GG was on earlier gen. consoles HD isn't an option and less power can be put into visuals. Same basic idea except that BB does show a larger degree of detail in almost every sprite that a character has. But you gotta remember that this is on the PS3 and 360 where most of GG was PS2...

GG just doesn't have limits on how combos roll out, seriously there's a ton of channels on youtube where you can watch people use honestly every character in the game and see amazing stuff occur. Its funny that after watching someone use a character you assumed to be garbage you really want to try and see what you can do if you practiced with them. and really the FRC isn't that difficult with some moves since normally you can flow from the button to the three and get the cancel with a high degree of sucess. I still don't think of RC'ing in BB because I never occurs to me to use like you do in GG.

Both games are fun no doubt...but I'd love to see an HD GG that is on par with BB visual presentation.

I'm probably one of the only gamers who only look at a game based on its game play value, not its artwork.

In that regard, I find GG to be a better game than BB.

However this does change, slightly when it comes to rpgs. alot of rpgs I played, I only picked up because of the box art.

I go for game design not gameplay per say. The more original the design and the better it works, the more I love it. This is why Smash and GG/BB are the only fighting games I play.

It doesn't matter to me that BB is not as technical as GG or as fast, the character design is amazingly original. The drive button to me is genius.

Also, what do you guys think about how they balance games in the past? In most cases, in the next game, the top tier become near trash charecters, and then crap charecters become gods, while mid tiers are always just that, mid tiers. I think they tend to go a bit overboard personally.

In reload.
S Class: Eddie
bottom tier- E Class: Anji

In slash
S Class: Ky
A Class:Anji
C Class: Eddie

in AC:
S Class: Eddie
C Class: Ky
Bottom tier- D Class: Anji

Hopefully they don't over and under estimate again with BB, and make Rachel and Arakune trash, and make Tiger a god, as well as give the mid tiers some new tools.

Oh yes. Do want.
While I do like BB (only for Rachel), it makes me really miss GG. I loved everything in GG.

Yeah, that's what usually tends to happen. They really need to just buff the weaker characters and tone down some of the ridiculous things from the top tier.
I don't know how much BB I'll play in the future if Rachel gets nerfed badly. XD

Gah its too soon to talk about how characters need buffs or nerfs to be honest. Most people thought that Nu was going to be unbeatable and impossible to approach (then they learned to block the strings)

I dunno most characters are solid with what they had but a couple here and there need some tweaks...namely Noel. the drive spammers don't bother me since it is punishable but that throw cancel garbage has to change since somehow the speedy character has a 40% combo off of a rather safe attack.

*shrug* again I'd rather not think about what should be nerfed and buffed since it may unfortunately become a GG clone if people want some characters to become like eddie...or slayer

^You know Noel is pretty solid compared to how BS others can get of their throws. Arakune and V-13 come to mind.

And the reason why you get a nice combo off a throw is because throws are so easily techable.

Yeah, throws really are easy to tech in BB. And that in turn, hurts Tager somewhat.
I've only teched his super once, anything else is quite easy. Just pray you don't get a throw reject and it's all good.

My reaction skills to throws are pretty bad. I should probably have my hands prepared on the throw instead of the barrier ;\

Luckily, I use an arcade stick. That means all my fingers are readily available for any button.
Really helps for good reaction time.

I want an arcade stick, but I just don't find it worthwhile to spend about $150 on a controller for only certain games, and I'm not even that much of a fighting game guy.

@shake~

yea that problem happens to me as well where I just don't react to the throw in time and as a result get hurt pretty bad from what follows...what is really annoying is that in SF4 I think the time to tech is less but pressing light punch and kick come natural where B+C I just don't seem to do in time...combos from throws hurt from pretty much everyone.

SF IV might be easier to tech since there's no throw reject. Plus you can't combo throws so you have a good idea when they're going to throw if they approach you in such a way.
In BB, I think I've been getting better at teching throws after trying to anticipate them now. It makes things easy when the throw window's so huge when they try to throw during a combo.

I still have issues teching throws in GG though...

you can get a cheap stick for around 60-80

I probably wouldn't get a stick just for BB, if you get a stick, use it to play all the other 2d fighters.

Make the most of your money :O

As for me I got the SE stick for about 60 and paid about 50 for seimitsu stick/sanwa buttons so it totaled up to be about 110, not a bad investment :]

LMAO @ sticks. At least you have the console. I still have to get a PS3....

But if you can get a stick, it's beyond worth it.
