Probably not. I find Rachel surprisingly difficult to play with. Plus, who cares? :p

What I want to know is how Litchi is better than Jin. Don't get me wrong, I love Litchi, seeing as she's my main. But whaaat? I don't get it.

Oi, poor Ragna. But I understand his position.

I still need practice as Ragna though, I can't handle pressure well, usually forget about inferno divider.

I think I'll pick up Taokaka as a secondary.

I guess I just can't input the directions fast enough in pressure without getting hit because you have to hold forward which lets go of guard. Also haven't really gotten many combos down either ;\.

Everyone I know pretty much stopped playing, I need to find more people heh.

Probably because Litchi can combo your face across the stage completely.

Carl was low tier
till they discovered the 0-death
cough IC
Lmao, except it's not even hard to set up for claploop. All you need is a jab and some techskill.

Broken pl0x?

Still, having the lowest health in the game, a terrible defensive game, being considered half a character by himself (without Nirvana) and a whole slew of other negatives makes it pretty obvious why he WAS low tier at one point.

He either sucks or *****.

I must've just played about a bajillion Nu players online. And they were all the same colour palette. It was very odd.

But yes, on topic. I dunno, I'm glad that Carl has moved up the tier list. Now that he can compensate for his weaknesses, maybe we'll see more Carl players.

Litchie's air grab is just silly.
Its combos into itself like 5 times lol.
You have like an hour to break out though.

I've seen people get grabbed by Jin, then regrabbed for an entire round though. I laughed pretty hard until he used his barrier burst but the Jin just ran up and grabbed him again.

But when you pull it off, it's pretty awesome.

EDIT: Litchi's grab, I mean.

EDIT2: Or Jin's grab. They're both pretty darn awesome.

Jam Stunna, good games. Your Litchi really improved since I last played you.
I still need to learn the matchup more. That pesky overhead gets me still.

I haven't learned which combos of Rachel works on Litchi yet since some characters are different, so I kinda played it safe. I also kept forgetting B+C is throw, so I had issues throw breaking against you.

But yeah, looks like I gotta step it up.

Definitely, good games. I couldn't finish off that corner combo either, I need to get into the aerial B alot faster.

As for throws, I just set R1 as my throw button. It makes it easier for me that way.

Where did this new tier list come from? Just wondering, since I haven't seen it on dustloop, and

I guess I just can't input the directions fast enough in pressure without getting hit because you have to hold forward which lets go of guard. Also haven't really gotten many combos down either ;\.

If you have XBL, I can play you. :D

Probably because Litchi can combo your face across the stage completely.
For like... 2-3k. I think she's good ****, though. Her corner game would make me sad if defense wasn't good in this game.

GGs, lol. We should play more. I need to look up JamStunna again too, he keeps ****** my Carl T_T
D:

Get XBL.

Talk Carl with me, baby.

Also, people need to stop actin' like he's **** without the loop. He is pretty bad without it, but I doubt very many people in this thread could block even two reps of a decent Carl's pressure game. I think even less of you are aware that he has a 7k damage combo for no meter that doesn't use airgrab BS.

Anywho, people should play me. Especially Rachel, Kune, and Nus. I need those match-ups on lockdown.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAND

Carl beats Nu, just in case anyone was still *****ing about how broken she is.

I despise Carl v Rachel...I can't stand chasing down my opponent for an entire match all the while dodging those frogs, bats, and God-forsaken pumpkin things.

and lmao, no negative penalty.

I mean, I know Carl's bull****, but Rachel seems bred for camping/footsies. Wind, an insane anti-air...drives me mad.

That's why she's S Tier, I suppose.

I don't know, Rachel has good zoning, but I play her as a rushdown character. I don't understand these campy Rachel players.

Rachel's not supposed to be a campy character. Sometimes I do back away just to ruin my opponents rhythm and make them come at me, especially when they barely have any life left since they know they're almost screwed.
But yeah, I use her mainly for rushdown.
Playing a campy is the wrong way, IMO. I use to play her that way when I didn't know how to use her, but it's just not that effective.

Only camp with Rachel when you're in a situation when you know that you don't have to approach them. After that, just rushdown after you took advantage of an opening.

If anyone wants to play my Rachel on PSN, my ID is Izanagi_XIII
I don't face that many Rachel's online, and it would be nice to face more...

Well, everyone camps me at some time or another because I can infinite, but Rachel is just really ****in good at it.

Most of the Rachels I play are rushdown n whatnot, but when it gets to the point where we're both at low health and it's down to the last hit, the first thought that appears to them is "camp the hell out of him"

Yeah, very true. I admit that I do that a lot when I need that last hit.
I usually summon a pumpkin since they're basically screwed after that. And if they hesitate, I pull a frog down for good measure.

I don't play Carl, but I can imagine Carl's matchup with Rachel is hard.
And it doesn't help that he can't clap loop infinite her either.

It's odd, I've actually caught Rachels out of the wind during a clap loop before. I dunno what the specifics are, but imma need to research it more.

Either way, Rachel kinda has to camp Carl and only rush when she NEEDS to get to another spot, or really needs the damage. When I catch her between Nirvana and Carl, she normally eats 3-7k damage, depending on what I use to start it. Doesn't help that after one or two ground loops, she has enough damage on her to get killed by the next combo, and I have enough tension to RC and avoid bursts.

Still, Rachel's zoning is so anti-Carl that it's ridiculous. Nu is waaaaaaaaay easier to lock down. Even if you get a full fueco (the drill stab) on Rachel's block, if you mess up the slightest part of the trap, she's gone and you probably took a rod to the face if you pursued.

Rachel's madd gay to Carl. I might use Nu on her if I can't figure out the match-up soon.

I don't know how they're trying to get out of the clap loop.
I usually just throw break and then wind myself out of Nirvana move.

And considering how much damage Rachel can deal to Carl in her combos, Carl is mad screwed once he's caught in something.

Yeah, same here. Just gotta catch them when they haven't grounded themselves in awhile.

It's rare, but when it happens it's like sex; you force it to last as long as possible.

Agreed, once you have Nu......lmao.

Her health is so low. Her weight is so normal. Her bursts are maaaad predictable.

I swear, Carl just ignores bursts half the time. 2 of his DD's don't give a **** and you have to do it at the right time during both of his loops.

a good rachel will always have wind up :D
True statement.

In all honesty, I can't even do the complete claploop. I can never get past 3 regrabs. I haven't practiced it as much as I should, since it still deals a great amount of damage and I know how to restart the clap loop if they grab break, but I can't maintain it very long.

*Ends with Fermata*

And...for the finale...

*BOOM*

Does anyone know why different players have different color names online? I've played people with white names and red names, and my name always shows up as green.

Your name will always show up as green, I believe. White names are for your opponents, but I don't know what the red names mean.

It happens super rare, but what happens is that they're completely encompassed by the orb, so the wind doesn't blow them away fast enough. I dunno.

Heyyyyyyyyyyyy

You're cali. Got xbl? I REALLY NEED TO FIGHT RACHEL!

Half the time? Unless they burst early, he seems to almost always say "**** it", and ****.

YOU NEED TO LEARN THE LOOP! SERIOUSLY! AGAINST GOOD PLAYERS, YOU'LL NEVER GET MORE THAN 2 OPPORTUNITIES WITHOUT SOME SERIOUS WORK! LEARN THAT **** AND ABUSE IT!

You're probably going too fast if you're dropping the loop. I've lost so many matches because I try to play BB at Melee speed. Even Brawl input speed is faster sometimes. Just try pacing yourself.

Also, if you don't know how to yet, practice hitting with the part of the clap that does OBSCENE damage.

[2c>8d]*3=6k damage, if done right. Tack on a fermata at the end, and that's 7.5k damage. It makes them think twice about doing it, especially since you can shut the robot off at any part for a split second to reset her health scaling. I normally just do 2/3 reps, then start the claploop up again.

Carl is stupid as hell.
