Don't get me wrong, Livewire, I was ecstatic when I realized that CS2 Noel was going to be beastly. But the more I win with her, the more guilty I feel. I'm not saying that Noel is cheap or broken or anything, because she's not. But when I can be like "I mashed a D attack because I thought that it might cross-up/CH, and hitconfirmed a 6k combo into Fenrir," well... I feel a little dirty. And it's not hard to do. She's not overwhelming, but I don't like feeling rewarded far too much for dumb stuff. On the one hand your opponent deserves it, because they weren't respecting Noel, and even though she doesn't have real DPs you kind of need to treat her like she's a DP character. But then on the other hand, I always remember how much I hated getting hit with 9k from Arakune, and then I remember how it always made me feel, I imagine the person taking 5-6k for their own mistake is feeling the same way.

Don't get me wrong. I loved Noel, and I love playing her. But I really just don't care much for her in CS2. Regardless of winning or losing, I don't feel like it's a challenge when I can even the match off of one mistake.

Hm, well you've got a point I suppose (because I know how I feel when I take a massive damage combo from Arakune or Makoto). If you want a challenge though, you can follow my Street Fighter lead and main Sakura. ;)

That logic doesn't apply to those trying to make money though.
But I'm like this guy:

I play for enjoyment. It helps that Marth and Hazama are both very strong characters, but I don't play them because I want to win, I play them because they best fit my playstyle, and allow me to have the most fun playing the game.
Only I don't really let such a precept dictate my notions of competition. I'll always do what it takes to win-regardless of whether there's money or not on the line-but I'm going to do it with the tools that I want to use. If I end up abusing a strong character or a strong strategy to win along the way, well, I'm totally okay with that. As long as I'm having fun with the game that's all that matters.

You know how I feel about the likes of Noel, Lyth. Like I told you: A character is only a crutch if you allow them to be one.

I can understand where Lyth is coming from, it's the reason I picked up Makoto in SF4. It's just so much more fun to win with her than Chun.

I also thought about this when Litchi became godly in CS, but she still required some level of skill to do her silliness, so I didn't feel as bad as people may feel about "mash D and win" Noel.

I can respect it. I dropped Ragna in CS1 despite winning the majority of my matches with him. It wasn't because I abhorred the fact that I was extremely successful with minimal effort; I was just absolutely bored to tears with his derpy-*** playstyle. I wanted something different. I branched out to different characters with varying degrees of FAILURE but that's because CS1 (for me, anyway) turned out to be boring as hell.

I think the changes they made for CS2 made it a helluva lot more fun.

Of course!

I mean, Noel is just Mu when she's consumed by the Azure or some ****. Mu is Noel when she's not on her period.

With more showing, obv. :3c

I have no ****ing clue who i'm actually going to end up maining in cs2...
I play like 5 characters and i can't decide between any of them.
Jin is probably my best character, though.

Would anyone like to explain to me why they didn't put v-13's texture for Lambda as one of the DLC colors, but they put that Black/Green one TWICE? I know unlimited Lambda/v-13 has her own textures, but that really bites. lol

I feel like such a noob here. I already happy I can pull off that (j.c 2d dj.2c ?? Something similar to that) Rachel combo near consistently <33. Same for Litchi's 236C > dash 5B, but I haven't mastered this one yet since the timing for buffering is quite strict.

Also, I LOVE Blazblue's story, it's really amazing @_@. Slightly confusing but amazing.

I had that problem for a very long time also. :(

Just play who you like the most!
I always have problems choosing mains. xD In every game I play...

I like all of them. :(
Character wise rachel is obviously my favorite, and she's fun to play, but I hate my rachel and I rarely ever play her because of it.
I'm starting to enjoy Mu again, and Lambda has become really fun lately too...

Last DLC colour? It's a little too blue, but it's probably the closest you can get.

Well, Minato beat me 2-0 I guess. I don't know, that match just left me feeling bitter, and not just because of that phonecall johns that I pulled like I was sour grapes. Like...I mean, all due respect to Minato because there's a good chance no matter what he was gonna give me a run for my money, but I just feel I can do and have done SO much better than that.

Wha?

(spoilered for whoever's still playing the story)
Noel is just a Prime Field Device who wasn't done being created when the Ikaruga incident happened, and in some timelines, she survived to become essentially a normal human being. Bolverk was the thing keeping her from letting someone else smelt her in the cauldron, and when Terumi made her go crazy, Bolverk was disabled, and Mu was created after Terumi threw her in the cauldron and let her be smelt and synced with a Murakumo (or Kusanagi I guess) unit.

She wasn't consumed by the Azure or anything like that. >_<

[/nerdrant]

Anyway, I still enjoy playing as Noel, but I really do miss the concept of using 5D to go into combos by abusing invincibility frames. Getting the timing right felt soooo much more satisfying than the random crap she has now.

I was just being remarkably flippant. :p

Thanks! Will update the bracket accordingly.

edit: Updated the first post with brackets again.

Matches to be played:

- Jam Stunna vs. Lythium
- Smooth Criminal vs. Crusayer

Just a random question. Does anybody remember/have the link to the Makoto story thing that was included in the PSP's copy of CS2? I remember somebody on Youtube putting the english version up there (I think it was around 30 mins), but I can't find it yet. Just curious.
