Because she's not top tier? Makoto has some pretty glaring weaknesses, so unless she has godlike damage or abare, it wasn't going to happen anyway.

Guys, it's a well-known fact that boobs are what make the tier list. Large = top tier, small = bottom tier. Tsubaki doesn't count, because even if she is clearly stacked, she's not showing any. Makoto is decent, but she'll never beat Litchi, so she can't be top tier.

Anyway, the only way Makoto would go even with top tiers is if she has decent abare. Which, as far as I can tell, she doesn't have anyway. So, I wouldn't worry about Makoto being top tier, with or without the parry loop.
Tsubaki counts. All we needed was Taokaka feeling her up to see. The cosplay was all about the thighs though.

LOL Kuraudo.

I'm raging because she is not top tier and is recieving nerfs while the top tiers remain the same.
I wouldn't call it "receiving a nerf," so much as fixing a glitch. Makoto is still good, so maybe it's the Noel main in me, but I don't really see why you're complaining. Makoto still has good damage, with good mixup, and good options. She's an intelligently designed characters, and no, she's not as amazing as the top characters, but she's still good.

And they haven't even completed the loc-tests, so why would they nerf the top characters? The changes aren't even final yet. Plus, the patch did more than take out the parry loop. There were also system changes, other character adjustments, and fixing bugs in general.

Anyway...

How 'bout that Valkenhayn? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gzk6iJAsrbk

I'd have to agree with Kuraudo, for sure.

Also, regarding game balance: The Parry Loop was CLEARLY an un-intended use of the jump-canceling mechanic, so it had to go. Even if she was closer to top tier with it.

Also, Valkenhayn's blue costume makes him look like Repede from Tales of Vesperia...... now I don't know if I'm gonna use Blue or Red. D:

You like making my life harder? ;_;

For default colors, I'm leaning towards Red (2nd) or Black with Orange hair (5th).

The Repede color is DLC......... WAIT, I JUST REMEMBERED THE DLC CHARACTERS COME WITH ALL THEIR COLORS. HUZZAH.

In that case, it's either gonna be the aforementioned two, Repede (13) or Slayer (18).

I kid, I kid. :3c

I really like the third one. I don't know why. I think it reminds me of Lego pirates for some reason that I choose not to question.

I'm just not up to date on my Japanese terms.

I think "abare" means attacking/offensive options when you're at a disadvantage. But the way you used it made it sound like a different meaning, most likely offensive options when you're at an advantage.

"Abare" has two different definitions.

The one I was referring to was the dictionary sense of the word: average damage that a character can do off of a poke. Basically, the ability to inflict effective combos off of basic hits.

It also refers to the act of trying to interrupt opponent's attacks with an attack that is invincible or has fast start-up when you are being pressured. A DP is an abare. Or a throw in GG would be an abare.

Sorry for the confusion. :I

I dislike everything about Valkenhayn's battle post. Looks like he's got a crick in his spine.

It's unfortunate that there is practically no scene for VF in North America. It's a pretty good game from what I've seen.

Well, he is pretty old.

I like that when he finishes a combo, he adjusts his gloves.

Nonsense, Lyth.
Valkenhayn may be old, but he's a god**** wolf (I refuse to call him a werewolf because he's not one in the traditional sense).

IE: No johns for Valky.

I got a PSN card so I'll probably get Valkenhayne once he's available (I'm assuming PSN is down today?).
I haven't played BBCS in a long time, so I'll be willing to play people this weekend.

After that, I'll probably be gone until Platinum is available for DLC. lol

I want Valk soooooo bad. :(

I can't wait till the 28th. I'm lucky Sonic Adventure came out yesterday or me buying my PSN card would've been worthless till Tuesday. The points for Valk are just sitting there...waiting...

Oh by the way, that reminds me. What's this I hear about there not being a generic "North America" PSN card, and Canada/US having different ones?

So wait, they're increasing Rachel's breast size in the next patch?

That's what I got out of all of this.

I am not denying that Rachel got the nerf bat, I can tell playing her (I mained her in CT for awhile), but what about her makes her so much more bad in this?
Everything except for 2C getting a slight buff, a useless super that's only good for getting time outs, a wallbouncing 5CC, and air soul iris. Here are the nerfs I can remember.

-6A isn't a good anti-air. Hitbox is bad so it's useless since her vulnerable hitbox sticks out.
-j.A isn't an overhead
-Lobelia's clash on certain things. Lobelias will disappear if you're hit when you're throwing one.
-Pumpkin disappears fast if you don't wind it
-Pumpkin's hit stun has gone down.
-George doesn't hop
-There's a frog guage
-6B's tech window on CH is really shortened making it near impossible to take advantage of a CH
j.2C is not JC-able and is only special cancelable on hit
-Damage has went down a great deal
-A lot of moves scale damage quickly
-Some hitbox changes to her moves making her more vulnerable

Wasn't soul iris 22C in CT? I'm iffy about the quarter circle, I don't mind it or anything, but I almost preferred the 22C. And yeah, I've never used that Super hardly ever, except, like you said, for timeouts. I hope they do something to Rach in BBCSII.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt that way about 6A. It just almost made me feel like...vulnerable just hitting it.
Yeah I noticed that about the Lobelias. When fighting Makoto I get hit a lot by her little energy ball thing when trying to fire out Lobelias. It's ****ing lame.
The pumpkin does disappear awfully fast if you don't have a lot of wind to burn for it and other ****, and yeah on the stun, it does stun less, hard to follow up with sorta'.
George doesn't hop? I never noticed, I usually just slide him around with wind so I guess that's why, frog gauge is kinda' lame too.
I never expected a character like her to do a whole ****load of damage, but yeah, she does deal even less damage in this, even when you get some nice combos going, it's still kinda' meh.

She overall just seems like she got the Falcon treatment. Blaz people seemed to keep her general strategy the same, but, with some of the changes that strategy is hard to keep in place. I'm just glad her stage control is in tact. Placing those Lobelias in the right places can really make someone nervous.

The problem with Rachel's 6A is that its hitbox doesn't extend past Rachel's hitbox.

So, it is actually useless.

No wonder you felt vulnerable.

Exactly. It's just incredibly unsafe. Watching how I used her in CS versus how I used her in CT I used it a lot more in CT. Now there just really isn't a good time to use it.

I vote they should give Rachel Atomic Collider and Tager Buster?

It was 22A. I actually like the new way since it feels more natural considering soul iris can be used in the air. Other than that, the change doesn't really affect me much. And with the BBCSII location tests, Rachel got almost everything back. They did keep some nerfs and changed some things.

Wind Regen is slower
5CC slides so I'm guessing you don't need wind to do it now

A lot of the buffs are stuff that she got back, like overhead j.A's, JCable j.2C, etc.
I don't know how much of it will stay, but we'll see. At least we'll know that she isn't going to get worse.

Yeah, there's no use for it period unless a dumb opponent doesn't know how to block. If they throw out any move while Rachel 6A's, Rachel's guaranteed to lose. That's why she had to avoid rush down period since she had nothing to help her get out of it (except for a predictable 2C).

My bad, it's been awhile, lol.

But thank god about BBCSII Rach, that's good. Playing only Tager got boring after awhile so I had to go back to Rach for awhile.

Wind regen is slower from CS, or slower than what it was originally in CT?

On an off topic, anyone who owns a PS3, should go download the demo for Enslaved. I've never been this hyped for a game that wasn't a sequel in a lonnnnng time.

Is anyone else totally not hype about Valkenhyne? I wasn't planning on using him anyway, but a friend showed me his trials and I thought it was pretty meh.

I'm glad he's in, but that's only because he deserved it.
Other than that, I don't give a ****. Never intended to touch him. Ever.
