I was honestly thinking they would do something like that as well. After the Switch 2, it would make sense to make something that is newer in appearance. They will probably try to do something new after the Switch 2.
A completely new successor would presumably still be a hybrid since they got rid of their separate divisions.
well in my experience as soon as things change even slightly fans calls something dead. as for creativity my guess is nintendo will continue to make things in the vein of labo and ring fit, giving us game with strange add ons for bizarre experiences. the switch 2 probably won't do as well as 1 but it'll do well enoughSo, a lot of people seem to be criticizing the Switch 2 as the death of Nintendo because its lacking creativity.
There's a fair amount of negative press surrounding that. Do you think the Switch 2 will switch because of that?
I think I will also give my predictions and wishlists from first and third party games that I could see getting on to the Switch 2:So I did a predictions/wish list, sorted into categories based on perceived likeliness.
Already confirmed:
New Mario Kart game
Extremely likely:
New 3D Mario
New Smash Bros
New 3D Zelda
New Mario Party
New Kirby
Splatoon 4
New Fire Emblem
New Animal Crossing
Metroid Prime 4 (already confirmed for Switch but most likely will be cross platform like Twilight Princess and BOTW)
Moderately likely:
Xenoblade 4
New 2D Mario
Luigi's Mansion 4
Princess Peach Showtime 2
Another Zelda game with Zelda as the protagonist
Pikmin 5
New DKC
New Yoshi's Island
New Warioware
Nintendo Switch Sports 2
Moderately unlikely:
New 2D Metroid
ARMS 2

Advance Wars 3 Remake
Very unlikely (but never say never after Advance Wars and Famicom Detective Club got revivals):
New Star Fox
New F-Zero
New Golden Sun
New Rhythm Heaven
New Wario Land
Mother 3
New Kid Icarus
The name wasn't the only reason since they advertised it more as a controller then a new console to the point of several people either wanting just the "tablet" or they bought Wii U games expecting it to work on the Wii. Advertisements was mostly featured kids and sometimes families which obviously didn't work.Really the Wii U was the only major sequel console that was a failure, and that was because they gave it a confusing name "U" as a suffix instead of just a number or more descriptive suffix/prefix.
I hope they actually make ports of the older KH games because Square Enix went with the extremely low effort route of making it not native. The only native KH game on Switch is the Melody of Memory partial spin-off.Square-Enix:
- Possibly see Final Fantasy XVI getting a Switch 2 port.
- Final Fantasy VII remakes getting Switch 2 port.
- Kingdom Hearts 4 getting a Switch 2 port.
Probably either $399 or $499.So, any guesses on the price?
$450 I thinkSo, any guesses on the price?
picking a random number out of the air that I think sounds right: £399.99So, any guesses on the price?
Hopefully it's $400 like the base model Steam Deck. So, any guesses on the price?
I really ain't interested in watching gamexplain anymoreA video was uploaded earlier today, which focuses on debunking some concerns about the Nintendo Switch 2.
They will probably downgraded so it can run like how FF7Remake was on PS4.Not a technical expert but out of curiosity how possible would a proper (not cloud) port of FF16 & 7 Rebirth be if the 12gb of ram rumors are true. I know well as someone who has been wanting to pick them up on a pc with the same amount of ram that the minimum specs call for 16gb.
Do you not have a regular mousepad?I discovered last week that I can use my beanie as a makeshift mousepad for my mouse. In the event that the Switch 2 doesn't launch with a mouse pad (for the rumored Joy-Con mouse function) or Nintendo decides to sell it separately, I think I'll use my beanie if/when I ever get a Switch 2.
Sadly, no, I don’t.Do you not have a regular mousepad?
I would say I'd be happy if it just got released on NSO but that would likely mean it would be untranslated. You know, if that mouse thing for the Joycon of the Switch 2 is true, who wants a remake of the Japanese only game, Mario and Wario, which used a mouse for gameplay?
Yeah. We haven't had a new 3D Mario game since Odyssey in 2017 so I think they're working on one right now for the Switch 2's launch along with the new Mario Kart game that was teased in the reveal trailer.I bet they're working on something for Switch 2 to celebrate Super Mario Bros.' 40th anniversary.
Not too long to go until the Switch 2 Direct, so let’s hear your predictions! For me:
- New info on Mario Kart
- Mouse mode demonstration
- Confirmation that a new Smash game is in development
- Whatever Sakurai’s new project is (I listed it separately from Smash just in case the project is something else)
- New Animal Crossing game built around mouse mode
- Backwards compatibility demonstration (which can also sneak in games like Metroid Prime 4, the leaked Fire Emblem 4 remake, and the leaked Planet Robobot remaster
- More info on 3rd party support
- New 3D Mario game built around mouse mode

I highly doubt we’re getting animal crossing and splatoon at the same timeMy Predictions:
New 3D Mario will be announced
More details on Mario Kart 9 and it will be a launch title
Splatoon 4/Animal Crossing 6
New IP
Either Gamecube or DS support or at least eventually
Games that will get enhanced versions on Switch 2 like Prime 4, TOTK and BOTW
Ports of older games
Smash teaser but only that it exists. If not then it will happen in 2026 like how Ultimate was announced one year after the Switch 1 released.
Price which will probably be $399
Good calls - my biggest hope is a new Mario Paint or Mario & Wario (the mouse is just begging for either) - but for actual predictions, I'd guess:Not too long to go until the Switch 2 Direct, so let’s hear your predictions! For me:

Actually, Amiibo may be back.Good calls - my biggest hope is a new Mario Paint or Mario & Wario (the mouse is just begging for either) - but for actual predictions, I'd guess:
- Prime 4 mouse aiming support
- Perhaps a new PictoChat, Flipnote, or Miiverse style app to draw with the mouse and share creations
- New Mario Maker that takes advantage of mouse support
- Abandonment of amiibo support (not sure if they'd directly call attention to this - but perhaps this is what the asterisks around backwards compatibility are related to?)
It’s more like an either Splatoon or Animal Crossing rather then both of themI highly doubt we’re getting animal crossing and splatoon at the same time
I would have said sooner than laterIs Splatoon 4 likely to be announced or later on?
