Calling it now: "Mega Brave" is a banjo playing bear.

Started a new Pokemon X file.

Generally my main source of enjoyment in these games is completing the Dex and breeding for stuff like shinies and egg moves.

So since it's been a while since I chose Fennekin, that's what I did for this run. I soft-resetted a heck of a lot to get a female so I could breed it for shinies later...AND IT HAS A MODEST NATURE LET'S GOOOOOOOO
Xerneas smiled on me today.

The only thing I'm currently dreading is catching a female Eevee.

Managed to get the all the variations of Protoman, Gutsman, Woodman, Roll, Fireman, Iceman and Skullman in MMBN 1. I got Elecman 1 and 3, so I'm missing his middle form. And I have to grind out the latter versions of Colorman, Stoneman, Pharaohman, Magicman and Sharkman. That said, Fireman and Bass combo with each other and some Medium cannons, so that's a strong set-up.

Haven't run into Bombman again, but I'm assuming he's on the list. I've almost got enough chips for Shadowman to show up and challenge me(I'm like 4 chips short I think.)

The game is making me choose if Luigi or Peach should get kidnapped in order to find out the baddies' evil plot.

I'll make a second save slot just in case volunteering Green Guy turns out to be interesting.

Minor spoiler but this was also a common nitpick reviews had, but I’ll spoiler it just in case.

Your choices don’t actually make a difference. The game will offer the same thing multiple times and it’s always the same. You might get less or more fights in an area, but that’s about it.

Sometimes I think Pokemon is laughing at me.

Like, I was just starting a new Omega Ruby, and trying my best to find a Zigzagoon with Pickup.

I use the Dexnav to try and find one, and one shows up...but what it gives me is one with Gluttony. The ability I hate the most for all the times it stole Pickup from me.

And to REALLY twist the knife?

IT WAS SHINY.

I still caught the thing, but my hate for the Gluttony ability has only deepened.

It's a shame smoothies are such a health fad, I mean they can be full of nutrition but I still shouldn't have to pay extra because some random ingredients are arbitrary considered "superfoods".

Superfoods aren't **** girl, I just use yogurt, milk, frozen fruits and MAYBE jams or pomegranate molasses. Superfoods aren't even that good for you, you're legit better off sticking it to those 3 ingredients

Anyway for my smoothies I typically use frozen fruit (blueberries and bananas), frozen spinach, almond milk, protein filled yogurt, and some peanut butter. It's my typical breakfast as it requires 0 effort to make and cooking breakfast after waking up is cringe

Plus I have too compete with my roommates for very limited freezer space. Why do they have so much ice cream? None of us ever even eat that stuff except on special occasions.

I personally think they are absolutely bluffing, at least partially, The companies that have these cases are either no-name Chinese manufacturers or are Dbrand, whose whole shtick is trying to make as many headlines as possible by being really annoying. Not companies that are direct partners with Nintendo.

I think what is happening is a while ago there was an alleged leak of a 3D printed version of the Switch 2 and it came with some CAD files with dimensions and I think they are basing their whole design for these cases off of those CAD files.

That honestly makes far more sense, imo.

An actual "Smash-clone" at this point would probably be a borderline rip-off of the game and most of it's content (including characters). A platform fighter or a Smash-like would just be a game that utilizes similar mechanics and is thus part an only semi-recently growing genre that Smash established.

To be fair that term still has some merit for talking about ones that legitimately are trying to be Doom clones. Keycards and maze-like level design and all that.

Ok, how about Smash-like instead of Smash-clone?

Calling them Smash clones feels weird to me as most platform fighters don't have things I now consider inseparable from Smash, like items, stadium modes, and collectibles.

I think "platform fighter" makes sense as a name as a lot of them nowadays feel like they are fighting games with platforms first and foremost rather than (also) trying to be a party game like Smash.

I disagree. Actual genre names (or ones that don't need context of other games to describe it) makes more sense. None of the Metroid or Castlevaina games are officially called Metroidvainas, the term is only used for games from neither series. And the name is sorta dumb, particularly if you don't play a lot of games, it's a nonesense term. And in terms of Platform Fighters, simply calling them Smash clones makes them sound cheaper than they might be. Whereas Platform Fighter allows them to be set in a proper sub-genre. It'd be like calling all 2D Fighters Street Fighter clones instead.

It's also why I DO consider Smash an actual fighting game, it's no longer the only one of its kind, there's a sub-genre of fighting games focused on platforming and ringouts as the primary KO system. With Rivals, PSASBR, Nick, Multiverses, Battle Stadium D.O.N ect.

Then again, genres as a concept are supposed to describe NARRATIVE and was not meant be used in a mechanical sense. So genres in games should probably be used for it's type of story or tone, but that's another can of worms.

This was taken from last year's Capcom Super Election poll results of the "Are there any Capcom game series (or spin-offs) that you would like to see a sequel or a new game" section.

With Onimusha and Okami getting new entries which kind of lines up with Capcom's current focus on revitalising dormant IPs that have not had a new entry for a long while. I wouldn't be surprised if any (maybe with the exception of Resident Evil considering that the series is always guaranteed a new entry and maybe the Vs. Capcom series) of the series within the top 10 list is going to eventually get the same treatment.

Personally, I'd love to see a new entry for Ace Attorney, Dino Crisis as well as the Darkstalkers series.

1. Like with all the artists, Miku gets two skins. One is her normal attire and will be part of the Festival Pass. The other is called “Neko Hatsune Miku” and will be sold in the shop. Note that neither would be exclusive and would be available again in the future.
Edit: Sadly Miku won’t be a catgirl. It’ll just be a hat.
2. Miku’s emote… well… let’s just say It’s Time. For the moment you’ve been waiting for.
