Against Marth, pick battlefield, then, in the character selection screen, pick Meta Knight.

@The above poster: Your username is very epic but could you also post something more useful?

Your sister plays Smash? is she married?
LOL

She isn't.

Lylat as well... I find the tilts raise me up closer to his Fair spacing game so I try to position myself on the higher slants if possible for a dash attack OoS.
The problem is that if you happen to be in the downhill slant Zelda'll, unlike usually when she's under the enemy, be almost helpless against Marth. Since he also outmaneuvers Zelda he'll probably be able to utilize the stage better, at least based on my experiences.

We are already pretty deep into the Marth discussion >_> Perhaps after if everyone agrees.

I agree that we should wait until we agree on Marth a bit more.

Also, it's Zeld's thread, not yours. x.o

Thank you Kaylo :)

We still have some people who like platforms vs. no platforms. What can Zelda/Marth do with/without platforms?

I know but I wanted to know how viable Zelda is as a CP for falco
Well that isn't a reason to say stuff like "Do this we done move on 'cause I wanna." It makes you sound very rude and inpolite like you'd think you own the place... I'm sure that people'll be more eager to help you out if you just settle for asking instead.

As for platforms vs no platforms, both of the characters get nice benefits when they're under a platform and their enemies are on top of one. For Zelda this means her defencive game is greatly enhanced and for Marth it means he'll be causing huge amount of pressure (both to shield and otherwise) with spaced Fairs and other aerials.

So like yeah can we discuss falco instead of Marth.

I did ask.

I did ask.
After which you went into this:

Take him to Luigi's Good Game.

Falco discussion gogo.
Which really served no purpose whatsoever. Your way of asking also sounded somewhat rude.

However, lets not dwell on the matter any more, it's practically the same as spamming this thread. If something still needs to be said about this there're PMs for that.

*Continues discussion about CP stages for Marth*

Yeah pretty much what HSS said, we can't make assertions especially when it's not our thread. Fair enough we can do Falco next however patience is key here and we can all wait until Marth is completely done. I hope that's clear :)

I like Frigate for its assymetrical layout and how it pretty much gives Zelda free LKs on his recovery on the right side of the stage's first part. Trip him on any platform for a lightning kick; the platforms are long, making the situation arise a little a more than, say, the tiny platforms on Battlefield.

2nd transformation is just your standard neutral - similar to halberd's layout as it flies. I can't really think of any benefits for her here except maybe ducking under his Fair camp game in the centre and of course the platform above... but that's it :?

so yeah tl;dr

  • Right side of the stage is worse for him than us.
  • Platform trips = lightning kick (nice long platforms). The situation is rare, but it's there for the kill when it comes.
  • Assymetrical first layout - lots of places where he'll need to reposition his spacing, could increase the likelihood of mispaces.
That's just how I feel about the stage and Marth personally. I've evolved into Kaylo in the way this post was laid out :)

I was trying to motivate people to discuss falco that's all.

What do you mean by play form trips? How does the no edge benefit us more than him?

Because everytime you get a trip on a platform using dtilt, you can buffer a turn-around, drop through the platform and immediately sweetspot Bair them whilst they're in tripping stun. HSS will put a video up once our wiis register and I can send it to him. The situation can arise moreso on Frigate because the platforms are fairly large.

And the edge - Mars pretty much said it. Just sweetspot him as he lands. If he doesn't land, it means he hasn't made the stage and is about to SD.

@Legendary: Ask in the Q&A thread. That's what it's there for.

(Yeah, I know, I'm madd late, but I didn't wanna post while intoxicated last night. @.@)

EDIT:

I've evolved into Kaylo in the way this post was laid out :)
Rofl. Yeeees, my plan is turning out nicely. =X

Anyways, Frigate seems like a good choice based on what Kata and Mars have said so far. I'm sold.

I can write more about FD if it needs more explanation, but I think the benefits are pretty obvious from what we've said so far.

Zelda can do **** like that? Does that only work on this stage or can you do it on every platform?

@kaylo ask what in the Q&A thread?

Every drop-through platform in the game. It works simply because trip causes them too much stun to recover in time to dodge the attack and by dropping through she can sweetspot an enemy of any size.

I'm also fairly sure that KayLo! meant you should ask this and any following questions concerning the subject in the Q&A thread.

Edit: Kata beat me to it. (**** distractions while writing a post...)

dunno if it's been mentioned but since marth's spaced fairs wreck us, choosing a stage with platforms can help to hinder that.

Battlefiled is always nice.

Isn't this the type of thing that should be in the Great fair fountain thread? Like i've been playing Zelda for a while now and this is the first I've heard of this.

@kaylo ask what in the Q&A thread?
Stages to CP vs. Falco. I dunno, you seemed like you were in a rush, so I thought maybe you needed to know for a tourney or something..... in which case, you could ask in the Q&A thread for a quick, non-in-depth answer.

But if you can wait, then ignore this, hehe. I was just trying to give you another option if you were in dire need of stages for him ASAP.

It is in there -_-'... it's brand new find. The last pages contain posts discussing it.

No rush I just don't know how to CP falco. I came big from a tourney yesterday and CP frigate with waro and was wonderinf if Zelda would of been the better choice on that stage. I also wanted to see what stages other people like then firgure out if Zelda as a back up is worth it.

If you're playing Wario you have like an 100% chaingrab on Falco...........Zelda shouldn't even be needed. In fact with DK and Wario playing Zelda as well is kind of.........well a waste of time/making things harder on yourself for no reason.

I have the CG from 52> 120 or something along those lines. Falco also has the CG on both characters putting them at a huge dis advantage. Zelda is for d3 but I think she could also be an alternative against falco and also be of use against diddy and pikachu and other silly match ups like peach and luigi. I know what the ratio's say but I don't agree with them.

Final Destination: 1
Frigate: 4
Lylat: 1
Smashville: 2
Battlefield: 2
Luigis Mansion: 1

Ok guys I went through the posts and this is what its looking like for good stages atm. So Im tihnking Frigate is gonna be the best stage, with Smashville/Battlefield as two other good ones. Any disagreements?

Also, lets talk bad stages, HSS posted some that are bad a couple pages back.

K, so we are obviously having differing feeling on Battlefield. I honestly think it really doesnt help her like it does in others, cus Marth has so many moves that go through the platforms to punish us. It also makes me feel claustrophobic. Any Pro-Battlefielders have why they feel its good?

BF, Lylat, and Castle Siege for bad stages. BF is probably my least favorite.

I hate FD and Lylat against marth.

my best luck has probably actually come from Pokemon Stadium.

That's weird marth should be able to wreck on that stage. Marth is very good on all the nuetrals and PS1 and Seige. Those are his best stages his worst stage is Rainbow cruise which is also terrible for Zelda. Brinstar may be a good CP but IDK i don't have any EXP against marth there. But I still think LM is your best bet. Since the bottom floor will make SH approaches harder.

Yeah, it is a personal perference for this one I think. I take Marth to Smashville and FD. Maybe Ill just leave battlefield out of this completely.

Yeah, ok Im gonna wrap Marth up. Im gonna put Smashville and Final Dest. as good stages, and Battlefield, Lylat, and Castle Seige as bad stages. Any objections?
