If it gets extended again, I think I’m gonna scream.

Then go back to Fortnite again. I initially picked up that game in November 2022 (focusing on Save the World), before branching out around the time they announced the Beta was closing.

I guess if we don't have anything by Thursday afternoon, start panicking.
That they still don't have their **** together after 4 seasons is starting to get pathetic. I'm seeing more and more YT thumbnails of people ripping into the game every day and I'm starting to think it isn't as somewhat undeserved as I thought before.

That they still don't have their **** together after 4 seasons is starting to get pathetic. I'm seeing more and more YT thumbnails of people ripping into the game every day and I'm starting to think it isn't as somewhat undeserved as I thought before.

I mean they're very different games, but I would highly recommend Marvel Rivals. It manages to make Overwatch's gameplay formula feel fun again, most of the characters are really well designed from a moveset perspective, has a great artstyle, and most importantly, respects you are a player, whether you buy stuff or not.

Personally, I play Squirrel Girl, Moon Knight, and Star-Lord for damage, Doctor Strange or Cap on tank, and Invisible Woman or Rocket for healer.

I mean they're very different games, but I would highly recommend Marvel Rivals. Well, if you do hop in there's no incentive to spend money unless you like it. Everyone is free and you can hop in training to learn their kits anytime, and you'll get into games extremely fast.

They've been replying to a lot of stuff today out of nowhere so at least we know it's not dead I guess.

Out of curiosity, I looked at when Seasons 3 and 4 were teased. 3 was 7:37 EST. 4 was 4:00 EST. Both on a Wednesday. So I'm gonna give it another couple hours before I start dooming.

According to Ausil, they're source says Season 5 may be the final season. Not a big surprise, but God, this entire game was such a huge waste if true.

If season five comes out and it doesn't have every character immediately available for free or doesn't have a Brawlhalla-styled "pay a one time premium payment of about $40 to get all current AND FUTURE characters" option, it's dead in the water.

Hopefully the team does the unthinkable and makes a good decision.

Not really surprised, numbers seems bleak for a while now and I get that the team deserve christmas break, but having such a long content drought right at the moment Marvel rivals was released which got plenty of events and free contents was really bad for the look of the game. I genuinely think that even if all characters are made free, there's no going back because the reputation of the game is already so bad after players already gave the game a second chance.

It's truly a shame because this game was really a "dream come true" for me as someone who loves Cartoon and a lot of WB ip. In the same way that seeing Link, Mario and Pikachu in the same game was a dream in 1999 when Smash released, seeing Bugs Bunny, Batman, Shaggy, Jason Voorhes and Gremlins in the same game was really special for me. Unfortunately, the team made mistake after mistake and there's no going back from this.

I hope it isn’t true. Despite everything, I still had a lot of fun with this game and was rooting for it every step of the way.

I agree that the game was like a dream come true kind of game. A platform fighter with Cartoon Network, Looney Tunes, DCAU, and other WB animated properties was something I’ve always wanted. I never played Punch Time Explosion but it doesn’t really look all that good. MVS is fun and has a great presentation.

I’ll try not to eulogize too much until we know for sure but damn.
And if it’s true I’m staying off social media for a while. The gloating is going to be unbearable.

Well, if it is the end of Multiversus, I had fun with it. My one goal will be getting Bugs Bunny to Level 15, mostly because I’m close to it.

That being said it will be genuinely infuriating if they close out the final season without giving us the Wicked Witch of the West when she's been in the data, seemingly complete or nearly complete, for close to three years.

If the Witch never comes, I will be unhappy.

I’m hearing it depends on how well season 5 performs. I wouldn’t doubt the delay and silence is them hopefully pivoting to do something very big and fan pleasing because let’s be frank here, Aquaman and Lola Bunny are not going to save this game.

The "just spend money on us, it helps keep us around" stuff keeps telling them they can release half-finished, buggy content and continue their FOMO bs as long as they keep making money. And all the zealous defenders of this game who kept paying them money for 30 dollar skins and to skip the unacceptable grind emboldened them to be worse and worse.

It's not worth spending money on a product that won't get better. If WB would let them release a season that actually fixes the problems, then the money will come naturally, but let's be real: this isn't just WB. It's David Zaslav's WB. The man is Bobby Kotick 2.0.

Nah I get that. That was directed more at people who still want the game to continue. No one HAS to spend money on a product that's just going to keep letting them down.

I feel like I'm at a crossroads here because while Zaslav's WB is pure unadulterated evil, I feel for PFG, who were genuinely trying to make something worthwhile and listen to their playerbase to a degree. It's like the NASB games, the passion is clear, but the corporate side is doing everything within its power to suppress it. I want to support the devs, but that money is also going to WB.

Man, I'm pretty worried about what will happen to PFG after this now that WB went and bought them out. If it weren't for that we probably wouldn't be in this situation.

This isn't super surprising to me (if true). WB Games CEO just stepped down partly because of their recent issues, the successor will likely want to clean house

I want the game to continue (I like the mechanics, too! I really like dodge attacking! Is my only option to switch to NASB1? I like NASB1 but you definitely can’t just drop into matchmaking in that.)

That said, I’m not going to spend money on something that doesn’t really feel worth it. They’d need to make something I really want, and I’m not big enough of a nerd of most of these franchises to buy stuff purely out of neat references. And, I’d be spending $10 at most to get a $20 skin since I have 1.8k free gleamium already saved up (and 800 of that would go to the battlepass.) And, I don’t think my $10 would save the game.

If the game does die for real, hopefully they’ll at least put it in offline mode like they did last time it shut down so all the work put into it isn’t completely wasted.

I already resolved to no longer take this game seriously nor invest in it like I used to after they ignored the few things I wanted in favor of adding the anti-fun anti-MVS mechanic, as a result they won't get a cent from me.

The reason they went to two per season was (probably) to prevent something like Beta S2, where they ran out of content and had nothing to release after Marvin. If the game's dying, that doesn't matter - they might as well release everything they've got because maybe that would scrounge up a little extra money.

i agree, but i still want the game to stay around & continue for a story mode & other stuff.

Best case scenario is that if the game discontinues then they make the game offline with all the content inside similar to "The Slip'n'Slide Squad: Kill the Justice League"

You'd think the OC mascot character they want to push would be made available to players so that they can actually grow attached to him.

I still stand by the idea that they should've had one character per class for free at the start. Reindog should have guided you through the tutorial and been a freebie for completion.

Genuinely nothing about Reindog makes sense or holds up under like...any scrutiny lol. This is a crossover game about Warner Bros characters that put a ton of focus, especially early on right after NASB came out, on character interactions...so they add Reindog, a completely original character who is someone you need to pay for, and to top it all off, cannot speak outside of text boxes.

One retrospective twitter faux pas I remember from the early days is when one of the devs (I think it was Tony) was asked if Reindog would be the only OC, and he was like, "he's the only one right now, but if there's demand for more we can absolutely add more!" and then public reception to the thought of more OCs was like "oh god please no thanks."

Well, he sets up the fire puddle and electric tether and lightning crystal and then spams close range pressure to trap the enemy there as long as possible. I guess that does keep the enemy in a particular zone, though.
